Initial Expectations: Celeste can turn out some very nice little movies. I'm hoping this is one of them.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced and I didn't notice any background noises to detract from the scenes. The video is very well presented in anamorphic widescreen. The picture has just a hint of grain that worked very nice for the artistic style of the movie, and the presentation was further enhanced by some great lighting. This is a very nice looking and sounding release.

Music: The music has a laid back style that goes from light melancholy piano music to classical music from Rachmaninoff, which I don't think I've ever heard in an adult movie and don't really expect to again. It often rests very quietly in the background, but varies depending on the scene to come forward or even disappear completely.

Menus: The main menu blends a couple stills and clips from the movie with a little animation for an okay first impression. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene, the name of the performer, and a chapter number that doesn't correspond to the chapter numbers in the movie.

The Feature

You & Us takes a vignette's look at relationships. While the scenes vignettes sometimes cross over between each other, there's never anything so strong as what I would call a plot to connect them, and works more as a theme than anything.

When dirty blonde Angelina wants to make her relationship with Scott a little more permanent as he wakes up, he lets her know that she should give him a little convincing on why he should. She moves down to kiss her way around his cock before sucking and licking it, and then moves up to ride him reverse cowgirl style. Angelina rolls to her side to let Scott spoon her bald beaver and sucks him clean before getting up to ride him cowgirl style and letting Scott finger her ass. This is a pretty hot scene. Angelina looks great, and puts out some very nice energy and vocals. The chemistry between her and Scott is okay, but didn't really stand out in any way for better or worse. This is a pretty good scene, but there was a little something that never let it get past just being pretty hot.

It's a fantastic look that really made the scene stand out to me, and I was drawn into it early on and never got out. This scene worked very well for me both sexually and artistically.

This is another scene that worked very well for me. The lighting is every bit as good as in Katsuni and Danny's scene, and Mick and Madison put out just as strong of energy. I love their flirtations back and forth to start the scene, and it helps to give the scene some very strong chemistry to go with it. This is another very nice scene.

There's very nice chemistry between the two of them, as well as very good energy. This scene finishes the movie out on the same high quality level as the rest of the movie cruised along at.

You & Us is a very well done adult movie that comes across as a simple couples fuck flick as well as much more. There's nice chemistry and energy in each of the scenes with only Angelina Armani's scene falling a little short due to the chemistry seeming a little weak. The relationship theme works very well through the movie, and combined with the music and artistic style ends up having some very nice emotional depth. The lighting and visuals really struck me watching the movie, as they show the performers in a manner that's artistic but draws the attention completely to the couple on the screen rather than anything to do with the surroundings almost as if they're a beacon in the darkness. There's never anything nasty about the sex, and if anything the emotional notes in the scenes come forward with a sense of loneliness and need as one searches for that person that can complete them not just sexually, but emotionally. Yes, this is a shorter movie, but it also has a surprising amount of substance that made up for it. You & Us is a very well done fuck flick that far exceeded my expectations.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts almost nine minutes. After Nikki and Katsuni pose for stills Katsuni shares a few words with Jamal as she gets ready as well as a few fun faces. There's also a little fun around her scene with Danny before Madison shares a little humor, shows off, and chats about getting into the jiz biz before shooting her scene. Angelina has a few words and shoots her scene with Scott before a little fun between Jamal and Madison. There's also a little storytime as James and Katsuni hang out before their scene. This is a nice behind the scenes featurette. You get a bit of the humor one expects from a Digital Playground behind the scenes as well as a little personality from the stars. There's nothing wildly different or hilarious here, but it's a nice addition to the overall DVD.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Digital Playground’s releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. This one's worth the low end if you're looking for something a bit romantic and different. The artistic style really sets the movie off, and there's nice chemistry and energy throughout. The technical aspects are nicely done and there's a bit of effort put into the extras to help out the overall DVD. This is a very enjoyable release that I can't help but recommend.

Note to Digital Playground: There's no doubt that I really enjoyed this movie, but if you're going to release a movie this short please put a little extra effort into the extras to give the consumer a little more value for their dollar.
