I bought World Class Ass because I’d read so many good things about Red Light District and wanted to check one of the titles from the (then) new studio on the block. I wasn’t quite sure what I’d be getting but, based on what I’d read, I was hoping for a new and interesting style, with hot women, hot sex and excellent production values. An initial glance through the disc’s trailers raised my expectations further.
FEATURE PRESENTATION: The movie’s presentation is very straightforward - each scene starts with a little ass-shaking, followed by a few minutes of questions and then the sex begins. The scenes are filmed indoors in similarly unremarkable rooms; the only music is during the intros. All sex takes place on couches and no condoms were used.
SCENE #1 - Gia with Brandon Iron & Brian Pumper
The movie starts with cover girl Gia, who doesn’t look as good as in her bonus scene. After some very standard and uninteresting questions, she’s joined by Brandon Iron and Brian Pumper. There’s some brief oral to warm up before the sex begins. The scene includes ostensibly rough sex like this and two facials (with some swallowing), but does not include anal.
The direction was heavy-handed yet unremarkable; for me, the scene had no hope due to the guys’ incessant talking and the ‘rough sex’, which looked incredibly stupid and seemed to make Gia uncomfortable. I also felt that this was used, in part, to cover for the surprising lack of anal sex (surprising given the movie’s category and Red Light’s hardcore reputation).
SCENE #2 - Flick Shagwell & Judy Star with Brian Pumper & Mark Wood
After the cringe-inducing interview, Flick (an average-looking British girl with dark red hair) and Judy (a Canadian with startlingly expressive blue eyes) are presented with two cocks and begin sucking. The girls swap partners a couple of times during the sex but basically do not interact. Surprisingly, only Flick takes anal (from both guys); Judy performs some A2M. The scene ends with some facials, cum-swapping and swallowing.
The direction was less overdone than in the first scene but still struggled to cover the separate action and wasn’t helped by A/V problems. There was little chemistry, Judy’s trash talking got annoying and the scene wasn’t choreographed or captured very interestingly.
SCENE #3 - Daniella Rush with Darren James & Mark Wood
This was my first time seeing Daniella Rush perform. Unfortunately, she looks very plain here and the sex was even more routine than the preceding scenes. Daniella has anal with both guys, then a DP before receiving two average oral cumshots. She looked bored, and the setting and action were very similar to the earlier, unremarkable scenes. I found this the most forgettable scene of WCA.
SCENE #4 - Hope Rising with Brandon Iron & Darren James
Things start promisingly with Hope Rising’s fine, fine ass (and she displays an impressive cameltoe to boot). Unfortunately, her face and appearance are rather ordinary and the sex was again standard and lacked heat. Like Gia, Hope seems slightly overwhelmed by the two large cocks and she doesn’t have anal sex either (though like Gia she has a good bonus scene). She receives two oral cumshots and swallows.
SCENE #5 - Lea de Mae with Marc Davis & Mark Ashley
Lea de Mae is one of my favourite performers, a blonde Czech with an incredible body. However, her appearance here is the least flattering I’ve ever seen. Although her scene hardly breaks the mould of the others, it is slightly livelier and she puts in a good performance, having anal sex with both guys, a DP and receiving a fair facial from M.D., followed by a no-show from M.A.
On a side-note, I’m sure I’ve seen Lea with exactly the same (bad) dress and make-up in another scene with Marc Davis. I can only presume this was for another Red Light title and was filmed on the same day. That would explain the frequent, detracting looks of boredom on Marc’s face here. Like professionals, they get the scene done, but without much chemistry or heat.
TECHNICAL: The movie’s audio gave me no troubles and the absence of music during the sex is always a big plus in my books. The lighting was adequate and the video quality was fair; I noticed the picture frequently softened though, apparently due to the autofocus. This was particularly evident in the second scene, when the camera struggled between Flick and Judy at different distances. It’s not too bad but it is conspicuous.
Extras comprise 11 trailers, each about two minutes long; there’s also a photo gallery, which didn’t work on my computer (no big deal); a casual, entertaining behind-the-scenes feature (just under 10 minutes); and two extra blowjob scenes with Hope and Gia (perhaps because they didn’t perform anal?). The bonus scenes were filmed POV style and I actually thought they were better than the scenes in the movie.
SUMMARY: In World Class Ass, I was hoping to see a good new style, hot women, hot sex and excellent production values. I think the movie only came close to fulfilling the last of those points: technical aspects were good for a new studio, the extras were great and a few other miscellaneous things were praiseworthy (e.g. movie duration, lingering after the cumshots).
On the down side, this movie is a shining example of cookie cutter porn. The settings and sex were incredibly generic, and coupled with the direction, every scene was repetitious and routine. In 140 minutes, there were no stand-out moments. There was basically no build-up to the scenes, the interviews were annoying, and the women didn’t look their best or as if they enjoyed themselves.
Finally, I’m guessing a lot of potential buyers would be expecting to see anal sex in every scene. Only half of the female cast actually performs anal. World Class Ass can be found online from between $16.85 and $24.95. In hindsight, I wouldn’t have bought it and I would suggest that anyone thinking of doing so spend as little as possible.
