We're at volume 61 here, so it's a struggle to figure out what to say that hasn't been said sixty times previously. If you're familiar with this series, then it's more of the same; it's a matter of whether you like the performer pairings. If you're unfamiliar with the series, I'll give you a quick overview

Girlfriends Films specializes in lesbian-theme titles. Whether or how many performers are real lesbians is open for debate, but I think they do a great job. Obviously they play to the camera, but it's still much more realistic looking sex than most lezzie clips. There's a lot of foreplay and some afterplay, kissing and caressing, and the sighs and orgasms sound and look convincing. Sometimes the toys come out but they're few and far between.

Unlike some of the other series which are soap operas with a long plot and continuing characters (e.g. "Road Queen" or "Pin-Up Girls"), the Women Seeking Women is a short-story anthology; four scenes with two girls in each scene, no repeats. Each scene is some kind of scenario to set things up—a more sophisticated version of ding-dong—"I'm here with your pizza." But not a lot. Mostly what it does is ease you into the scene, rather than just have the performers walk in, strip and jump on the bed. This makes it particularly good as a couples film. It's also a nice change if you like things to start off slow and easy—you can always skip past it if you don't.

Four scenes:

Brenda James and Rayveness, Ariella Ferrera and Victoria White, Daisy Layne and Heidi Mayne, and finally Jana Cova and Prinzzess. I got this thing simply because I have a huge thing going for Rayveness and I wanted to see her in something outside of "Pin-Up Girls." I thought that by Volume 61 they'd just be knocking these things out as fast as possible and with no effort or enthusiasm—but it sure as hell doesn't look like that. It looks like they approached this as if it were Women Seeking Women #1.

Special Features: There's a short "BTS" clip featuring two performers and a birthday cake. The rest is the obligatory Photo Gallery, plus trailers for other titles and a plug for the website.

Production values: up to Girlfriends Films high standards. The video is crisp and clean, and the cinematography (you can actually call it that here) makes it look natural and pleasant, rather than just a well-lit video documentary. Sound is clean and well done. I find it hear some of the quieter dialog, but I don't care about plot so it doesn't bother me. Each scene has its own submenu and each scene has numerous chapter stops so you can quickly skip to something you like, or set up a repeat loop if your DVD player can do it. This is also one of the few DVDs I've found which looks great on both my computer monitor at full-screen mode and on my standard def TV set. It's a joy to watch.

Final verdict: Girlfriends Films continues to turn out first class porn. What it lacks in raunch it makes up for in good old fashioned eroticism. The performers are good looking, the production values are great. You'd think after 60 volumes this would be looking tired and threadbare; but it's not only hanging on, it looks better than ever.
