Initial Expectations: I’ve both loved and hated movies by Pat Myne. I’ve seen some nice improvement from him lately, so I’m going in with pretty good expectations.

Initial Reaction: It’s hit or miss, but the hits outnumber the misses.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is nicely done. Although there are a couple places where it varies slightly, most of it is very clear and very well balanced. The video is pretty normal for Pat Myne’s style. It has a slightly soft look that helps give it a bit more of an artistic feeling, and is nicely lit.

Music: None

Menus: The main menu nicely works a bit of the movie in with the boxcover. The chapter menu is pretty standard and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip from each scene and a scene number.

The Feature

Realizing that he isn’t getting any younger, Pat Myne goes after fresh talent with his Wild Cherries series. Thankfully he hasn’t started pounding down the Big Macs and running around in tightie whities or spending so much time in tanning booths that he’s a human night light, but he does keep things fairly straightforward. Pat starts each scene out letting the girls show off a bit and talking to them before letting the girls do what they’ve come to him to do.

Scene 1 - Roxy and Mark Davis

Roxy, a cute brunette with a rather large back tattoo, a stubbly busy, and a pierced nipple and navel, starts things out talking with Pat about her first time having sex and showing off for him. Scene 2 - Aussie Amber and Manuel Ferrara

She does an okay job through the scene, but for much of the scene she didn’t really look comfortable. She took Manuel’s size and intensity well, but I rarely felt like she was really into it.

Scene 3 - Diamond, Jay Ashley, and an unnamed guy

Diamond starts things off showing off a little, talking about how she likes pain, and masturbating. Pat has her put on a blindfold before she goes to work sucking and stroking Mark and Jay. This scene did next to nothing for me. Diamond was kinda cute, but she gave me the feeling that she’d do anything sexual that would get her a little attention. I never had a feeling like they were into the girls, and I was continually struck with the feeling that the only person they were into was themselves as they grunted like apes. If all that isn’t enough, the scene started out with Diamond and Pat talking about her finishing the scene up with an anal cream pie, which I love to see. Maybe I lost interest in the scene enough that I blanked it out, but I never saw any anal action, let alone an anal cream pie. The only thing that struck me as being good in this scene was the camera work and editing, which kept things nicely mixed up.

Scene 4 - Veronika and Jay Ashley

Veronika, a very cute dirty blonde with a pierced nose, gives Pat a nice tease by playing with herself and offering him her juices from her fingers. I love the energy level as well as the overall feel of the scene, and it all worked together to make this a scene that I’m sure will have a lot of replay value and which is easily one of my favorites in this feature.

Scene 5 - Roxy Will, Flick Shagwell, and Mark Davis

Canadian Roxy Will comes to Pat in the hopes that he can help her fulfill her fantasies. She shows off for Pat briefly before Pat directs her attention to Flick, who’s laying back in a chair wearing a buttplug and playing with her pussy. It’s a great way to end the movie, and gives me another performer for my list of people I hope to see more of in the future.

Wild Cherries 2 is a pretty standard fresh talent feature. It starts with a bit of getting to know the stars and letting them show off their assets before getting down to business. The sex scenes vary, but unlike most they seem to be very hit or miss. Diamond was the biggest miss for me, but Aussie Amber didn’t do much either. Both Roxys and Veronika, however, were big hits and brought Wild Cherries 2 above the average mark for me. Despite this variety, Pat Myne remains nicely consistent with his style of camera work and direction, which should keep his growing fan base happy. Wild Cherries 2 has a few pits, but there’s some sweet meat here as well.

Currently, many of Metro’s DVDs can be found online for between $12 and $25 with most stores offering them for around $20. Even if you’re a fan of Pat Myne behind the camera I’d suggest aiming low or renting this one before you buy it. There’s some good sex, but also a couple really weak scenes. Also, there isn’t anything really worth mentioning for extras, but the technical aspects are pretty good.

Note to Metro: This is one of those movies where a cast listing would have been very nice, as well as a couple extras.
