The Short Story

Initial Expectations: With this cast I can’t help but have high expectations, and Halloween seems like a perfect time to check it out!

Initial Reaction: It never took me under its spell.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting lighter couples action.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting something that feels like it's being done to its full potential.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good. The audio is pretty well balanced and fairly clear, but they do have some background noises. The video is presented in the full screen format and looks okay. There's a hint of grain to the picture, but also a fair amount of shadows and dark footage as well as a little camera motion.

Music: The music is nicely balanced with the rest of the audio. Some of it is kinda cool, but most of it is pretty typical porn music.

Menus: The main menu works through a bit of animation and a few clips for a decent first impression. The chapter menu is sadly generic, and just lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number.

The Feature

If you need something done in the realm of love and don't know what else to do, Nicole has a reputation of being able to take care of it. With a couple little items and a lot of money, there's a good chance she can whip up a potion to give you just what you think you need. Of course, if she seems something she likes, such as Voodoo, she just might work her magic a little differently...

Scene 1 – Nicole Sheridan and Felix Vicious

After whipping up a little potion to feed to her cat, Nicole transforms it into smoking hot Felix to start things out. This is an okay scene. The girls look great and there's a fun start to the scene, but it also seems overly drawn out and very slow since each girl only gets one position and the scene is a pretty average length. The chemistry is a little weak with the girls looking a little mechanical, but with how reliable these two ladies have been in the past I can't help but wonder if this is due to the scene being drawn out as it is more than anything. This scene hovers just below the average mark.

Scene 2 – Wendy Divine and Eric Masterson

Extra cute blonde Wendy hires Nicole to make Voodoo fall madly in love with her, but instead Nicole decides to have Eric and Wendy fall in love. The problem with it is that the mood lighting goes beyond being a little dark and makes it so that much of the scene is extremely hard to see. During the blowjob Wendy looks like she gives Eric some fantastic eyes, but instead most of the time all you can see is two dark holes in her head rather than her beautiful eyes, and when they fuck it's nor even worth trying to see the penetration most of the time. This could have been a great scene, but the lighting really holds it back.

Scene 3 – Nicole Sheridan

While watching Voodoo through her crystal ball and casting her spell over him to love her, Nicole can't resist stripping down and diddling herself. Scene 4 – Kenya XXX and Steve Hatcher, Envy Mi and Steve Hatcher

This is a pretty good scene. The opening is well done, and I love the lingerie under the business suit. There's nice chemistry between Steve and Envy, and she puts out some very nice vocals without going overboard while he puts in some nice energy. This is one of the better scenes in the movie.

Scene 5 – Brittney Skye and Steven St. Croix

Bottle blonde Brittney gets it on with Steve, starting with a little kissing before dropping down to gobble his knob and give it a bit of stroking. She gets up to ride him reverse cowgirl style and spins it into a sidesaddle ride before putting her legs up in the air for a little missionary work. Finally Brittney lets Steven pop on her tits.

This is a pretty good scene. Brittney puts out some nice energy and vocals, but the scene seems a bit quick. Both performers are quite reliable here, and to have them rush through the oral and only have two positions left me wanting a little more. This scene gets just past the average level.

Scene 6 – Nicole Sheridan and Voodoo

When Nicole tells Voodoo to wear something sexy for when she comes over to straighten out his “ghost problem”, he goes for a pair of animal print lounge pants and no shirt. She gets down to a little black dress and her heels after arriving, and lets him know that his ghost wants to possess him sexually and that desire can only come out through her as she rubs something around him. This is easily the best scene in the movie. Nicole and Voodoo have all the chemistry one would hope for with a real life couple. The scene moves along at a nice pace and there's a nice mix of camera angle as well. This is a good scene.

Wicked Sorceress is a pretty average couples porno. Nicole does a pretty good job leading the movie, and provides some nice eye candy with her witchy outfits. The plot is simple and fairly fun, but also has that bit of the cheesiness that so many expect from adult films. While that cheesiness can sometimes have a neutral feeling or even help the movie out in some circumstances, here it holds the movie back a bit because the entire movie has a feeling like you've seen this movie before only done a little better. Although the low lighting looks like it was done for mood, it's done poorly and instead really interferes with the movie. The sex is much the same way. There's solid performers throughout the movie, but most than anything the scenes reminded me of how much better they were in other movies. Wicked Sorceress might make it to the average mark, but more often than not it just reminds one of other movies that were similar but done better.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts about three and a half minutes with about six seconds per good looking snapshot or full screen photo. Nicole Sheridan, Felix Vicious, Wendy Divine, Eric Masterson, and Steven St. Croix also get star stats including a link to the star's scene, photos, personal information, and a Wicked filmography. There's also a bonus scene, a behind the scenes featurette, and the typical Wicked extras.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts just under twenty one minutes and features Mark Stone behind the camera. Jim Enright starts out talking about throwing things at Steve Hatcher before Steve chats about how surprised he is that they aren't looking for more solid stuff. After a quick talk with Envy about last minute anal it moves on with Brittney and Steven working through their scene and having a little fun. Nicole does her lines in preparation for casting her spell on Voodoo before Jim works things through with them for both the outdoor scene and the scene at Voodoo's house. There's a little fun there and in the makeup chair with Nicole before the flying papers trick is demonstrated. You also get to see a bit of things going wrong for another trick and shooting the crowd scene near the end of the movie. There's also a bit of time shooting others at the door as well as Nicole's masturbation. This is an okay featurette. Mark doesn't get to chat much with the stars, which is where he normally shines very well, and instead the movie focuses a lot on shooting the scenes. This is an okay behind the scenes featurette, and like the movie, is a great reminder of how much better a lot of Wicked's other behind the scenes featurettes are.

Bonus Scene - Devinn Lane and Jessica Drake

The bonus scene comes from the very enjoyable Spellbound. Devinn Lane finally gets a scene of her own with neighbor Jessica Drake, who she accidentally hits with a love spell. They quickly head back to Devinn’s bedroom where Jessica sets her sights on Devinn’s great tits. Jessica soon moves down to lap at Devinn’s pierced clit and to stab Devinn’s pussy with her fingers. The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Wicked's DVDs can be found online for between about $15 and $25 with a few stores offering them at the low end. Aim low on this one. The movie isn't bad, but more than anything it reminded me of other movies that were similar but done much better. The technical aspects barely make the average mark due to some very low lighting, but there is a bit of effort put into the extras. This is an okay release.
