The First Word: The first release from Greg Alves' new company, Zero Tolerance, makes a bold claim by leading off the video with the Zero Tolerance Mission Statement: "Absolutely no... Dumb fucking dialogue, ugly bitches, stretch marks, Tijuana boob jobs, stupid tattoos, fake orgasms, limp cocks, weak pop shots, hookers who hate fucking, sorry ass suitcase pimps, or crack whores." That sets the bar pretty high...let's see how it delivers. What's It About?: Boo D. Licious, a fairly cute, flat chested brunette, is first up, arriving for the Zero Tolerance shoot. She's greeted at the door by Mark Davis, who checks her out for fake tits, tattoos, and suitcase pimps. He also asks the question that will highlight the scene: whether she minds being choked. Now, when I say choking, it's not like he's throttling her -- instead he controls her breath by using one hand on her throat while telling her to relax and counting down to his release. Boo seems to be dazed by the experience, but seems to enjoy it more as the scene goes on. The scene is characterized by the choking, some hard fucking, and a lot of dialog along the lines of, "Fuck Daddy's little girl," "Fuck me, Daddy," and "Please, Daddy, choke me." The sex ends with a somewhat laborious shot of Mark jacking off onto Boo's face, though he does deliver a nice, stringy pop shot. After the scene, there's a really brief couch interview asking her how she liked the choking. It also has her clarify that the two of them are not at all related. A necessary bit of piece of mind for some, but I thought it was pretty clear that the choking was consensual and that Boo is not Mark's daughter. Alura Eden is next up, and gets the same sort of Zero Tolerance check, making sure she doesn't have a Tijuana boob job, stretch marks, or a suitcase pimp. Personally, I think she fails the tattoo check, since she's got a large tat running the length of her upper arm. The scene begins with Alura, in pigtails, announces that the two guys who are going to fuck her in the ass are not related to her before their dicks appear and she gets down to business. In addition to the "daddy" and choking themes, there's an anal gape and DP. Kudos go to the nice RC anal and DP positions, as well as Alura's genuine enthusiasm. The weakest parts of this scene are Mark Wood's somewhat less than woody woody and his penchant for moaning "yeah" and "yes" over and over. Mark Wood makes another appearance in the next scene with Sabrine Maui. Sabrine looks a lot better in the pre-sex interview than in the actual shoot -- for some reason, either the lighting or the makeup shows off her bad complexion. While there's some decent positions here, such as an extended finger fuck and standing 69 and reverse cow shots, the soft video focus and Mark's incessant moaning cut down the enjoyment. But then again, there's no Mark Davis and no choking, so those are additional redeeming factors. Courtney Divine, a light skinned black girl with a lot of freckles, passes the questioning with flying colors. She does a great job deep throating Mark Davis' cock, and the super-closeup camera work makes it easy to watch the act in full-screen detail. Another highlight of the scene is hearing Mark bring Courtney to an operatic orgasm -- she's got a hell of a singing voice as she runs up the high octaves like a soprano. Otherwise, it's a really long and mostly average scene with the same type and manner of sex acts that you'd find in a ton of gonzo movies. My first exposure ever to Cindy Crawford (not the supermodel) is in the next to last scene. Cindy's a skeleton of a bleached blonde with A-cup breasts. She does absolutely nothing for me, so this scene is a boring waste of time. About the only thing I liked was about 30 seconds of close up penetration that hides her body. Some might like her human pretzel trick, but as for me, I can't get the image of her ribs out of my head. So the verdict seems to hang on the final scene with cutie Taylor Rain. As you can see from her covergirl photo, she's about the only one who really fits the "daddy's little girl" fantasy. She doesn't disappoint either with her petite but non-anorexic figure and her dirty talk delivered with an innocent smile. From the good vag positions to the the nice but short DP finger fuck, there's plenty to like. She seems to be less than enthusiastic during the ATM and facial ending, but her smile after receiving the monster facials is wonderfully perverted. And this is supposed to be her first DP scene too. It doesn't reach the same level of intensity as the first scene with Boo, but it's classic Taylor Rain. What I liked: Top notch facials: Aside from Mark Wood's generally pathetic facials, both Pat Myne and Mark Davis deliver well-aimed pop shots that will satisfy most cum fetishists. And the post-cum play is pretty decent even though there's a distinct lack of swallowing. These endings are probably the best, and most consistent, What I didn't like: Choking: As I mentioned earlier, there's quite a bit of Mark Davis exercising breath control in this title. Not only is this content on my dislikes list, but I think it's a Bad Thing to show that stuff in porno. Since the activity is clearly consensual, I won't get on my soapbox except to say that it's bad for the industry for two reasons. First, it's stuff like that that gets conservatives and feminist crusaders all bent out of shape over porn. Just because it can be portrayed doesn't mean that it should. Second, I suspect that showing choking in porn may encourage people to try it in their personal lives, and just with anything else, there will be people who, intentionally or accidentally, don't exercise the same safe practices that Mark Davis uses in Who's Your Daddy? In other words, it's easy for things to get out of hand, and someone can get hurt. Regardless of the consent before and affirmation of consent after, I'm not sure that it's responsible to show this for the purposes of entertainment. I'm not at all suggesting that choking be banned or naive to think that real-life people don't practice breath control, but I would like to see studios think beyond "can it be done?" to "should it be done?" Spitting: It's a complete turnoff to see people spitting in each other's mouths or on pussies. It falls into the same general category of "I don't get it" as ass-to-mouth. I suppose it is "dirty" but I guess I don't "get it" so it's not erotic at all. Daddy, Daddy, Daddy: It's hardly new in porn to do the whole "daddy" thing. Whether it's the older man/teenage girl fantasy, or the stepfather/father thing, it's been a common barely legal theme. It's not something that that turns me on, so it just gets on my nerves to hear "Daddy"-this and "Daddy"-that. And the prompting "say it...say it!" or "who am I?" lines just to get the girls to keep repeating the catch phrase is equally annoying. DVD Extras: Zero Tolerance includes a large still photo gallery and an 11-minute softcore striptease video, where the girls get naked. Considering this is the first ZT release, it's not surprising that there are no preview trailers. While this is not a loaded disc, it's about what I expected for this type of DVD. A/V Quality: I was pretty disappointed with the video quality of this release. Compared to both established studios and newcomers (such as DVSX), the video quality is really sub-par. The sharpness that I've come to expect in modern gonzos from the improved video equipment is completely absent from this release. The picture is way too soft and hazy for my enjoyment, and that's not just me being an anal videophile. This distraction is compounded by some barely noticeable but present compression artifacts. I don't know why that would be the case since it's a dual-layer disc with not that much extra content. The audio has a decent amount of echo to it -- I don't know whether that's from the shooting location or the microphones used. It's not unwatchable by any means, but it is a little distracting. The Last Word: I'm trying to be really fair in judging this release. Does it have content that I enjoyed? Sure, Taylor and Boo delivered very good scenes, and the money shots were on target. Does it have content that I don't like? Yep, and there's a lot more that I don't like than what I do -- the choking and spitting have got to go. Is the video quality up to snuff? No, it doesn't hold up to similar releases from RLD, DVSX, Anabolic/Diabolic, etc. Does it live up to its self-proclaimed mission statement? Mostly, although the "absolutely no" part is flexible, since several of the girls 'fessed up to violations (and I think Cindy falls into one of those no-no's). I'd really like to see Zero Tolerance do well, and I think that if they get some better equipment, stay true to their mission statement, and don't go overboard with the rough sex and circus acts, then they'll succeed.
