Initial Expectations: I’ve really enjoyed this entire series, and am looking forward to more fun here.

Initial Reaction: It’s far from perfect sexually, but it’s so much fun that I still really enjoyed it.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is okay. The background noises get a bit loud at times and some of the dialogue is a bit hard to understand. For the age of the feature, this doesn’t sound that bad. The video looks very good for its age. There’s a little grain and a few relics, but it’s well lit and looks almost as good as many recent releases.

Music: Almost all of the music has a western theme to it that helps give the movie a fun feel. It’s also very nicely balanced with the rest of the audio.

Menus: The menus are nicely animated, and the main menu makes for a great first impression for the DVD. The chapter menu is a little generic, however, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene and a chapter number.

The Feature: To quote the Thin Lizzie song, The boys are back in town. The boys of course are Sam J. Flywheel (Jonathan Morgan) and his trusty but not so bright assistant Roscoe (Steven St. Croix). After a miner hits it rich and then kicks the bucket in front of them, Sam and Roscoe set off to deliver the deed for the mine to his daughter. The only thing that could get in the way are them not knowing what she looks like, a few people looking to get rich the easy way, and keeping their pants on.

Jonathan Morgan starts things out in the blacksmith shop with Asia Carrera after she lures him away from Steven and their trunk. They help each other out of several layers of clothing between Jonathan buries his face between Asia’s thighs before she returns the favor with a blowjob that’s every bit as enjoyable to watch as her current ones. He fucks her from behind as she bends over an anvil, and finishes things up blowing his ball butter on Asia’s nicely natural tits. It’s a nice opening scene with decent chemistry, but the camera angles and editing held it back a little for me.

Steven St. Croix gets friendly with extremely cute brunette Jordan Lee as they take the stagecoach into town. She lets him kiss her pussy before the stagecoach stops so he can fuck her on the conveniently located bearskin rug on the gravel road. Steven fucks Jordan missionary and doggie style before fucking her ass from behind, and finishes things up giving her a messy facial. It’s a great scene with both Steven and Jordan doing an excellent job. In addition to doing great sexually, they both stay in character throughout the entire scene.

Tony Tedeschi gives saloon showgirl Kylie Ireland the shaft after they get the deed to the mine. Tony kisses Kylie’s tits and twat before giving her ass a great tonguing. She returns the favor by sucking and stroking his schlong before riding it cowgirl style. Kylie also lets Tony fuck her missionary style before he decorates her tits. As always, Kylie is a joy to watch. I’ve enjoyed watching her since the first time I saw her, and she’s rarely disappointed me. This scene doesn’t break her streak with me.

Tera Heart gets a little business from T. T. Boy in the next scene. She starts out energetically working him over orally, and gets T. T.’s tongue and fingers given to her with the same energy. She rides T. T. cowgirl style and then lets him fuck her ass from behind before taking a facial from T. T. and rubbing it into her face. It’s a pretty hot scene with nice chemistry, but the energy really makes this scene. Tera rides the fine line of being vocal and being overly vocal, but she puts enough of the rest of her body into it that it ended up being a pretty hot scene.

Kylie Ireland and Alex Sanders get busy in another room upstairs in the penultimate scene. They exchange oral favors and fuck missionary and doggie style. Kylie finishes things up taking a very nice pop from Alex on her magnificent ass. I can’t help but think that I shouldn’t have enjoyed this scene as much as I did, but once again I fell under Kylie’s spell. She and Alex look to be having a great time together, and it helped the scene past the limited camera angles.

Finally, Jonathan Morgan and Steven St. Croix get thanked properly by Tera Heart. Tera gobbles Jonathan’s knob while Steven works on Tera’s pussy and ass first with his tongue and fingers and then with his cock. They take turns fucking Tera from behind before giving her a double penetration. They finally finish things up popping on her nicely natural tits and cute face. Tera has nice energy once again, but things didn’t feel quite as strong and I’m not quite sure why.

Western Nights is another fun installment of Wicked’s Nights series (which also includes the extremely enjoyable Arabian Nights and Haunted Nights). Once again, Enright and Rocker have put together an extremely fun movie that’s expertly led on-screen by Steven St. Croix and Jonathan Morgan. I can’t help but think that a good portion of their roles were ad-libbed, and it only makes the movie more fun. They also show some amazing acting skill by staying in character throughout the sex scenes, which have great chemistry and energy even if they aren’t captured as I like to see. The camera often seems just a little too close to the action, and I often wanted it to shift just a little. Perhaps that’s the best thing I can say about the cast. I often had thoughts that I shouldn’t like the scene as much as I was or noticed many things that I didn’t like about how the movie was shot, but I couldn’t help but like the scenes anyway. Every one of the girls does a great job and the guys do just as well. Western Nights has more than a few faults, but I enjoyed it so much that I didn’t really care.

Extras: Both the production photo gallery and the behind the scenes photo gallery last almost two minutes with about six seconds per okay looking photo. There’s also star galleries for Tera Heart, Asia Cerrera, Jordan Lee, and Kylie Ireland that last between about a minute and two minutes, with only a few photos coming from this feature. Audio bios are included for Tera Heart, Asia Carrera, Jodan Lee, Kylie Ireland, Jonathan Morgan, Steven St. Croix, Tony Tedeschi, and T. T. Boy that were made to fit the overall feel of the menus. Each bio includes a little personal information, a few photos, and a link to the star’s scene. Trailers are included for Crazed, The Kissing Game, Hell on Heels, Flashpoint, Double Feature!, The Bride of Double Feature, Dream Quest, Knockout, Pornogothic, Satyr, Sex Safari, Vengeance, and Working Girl. There’s also the usual Wicked extras of a company profile, promotional materials, the Wicked Web, a list of AVN & Wicked DVD winners and nominations, and a commercial for the Free Speech Coalition. Most surprisingly, since the movie is almost ten years old, is a behind the scenes featurette.

All Access: The Making of Western Nights lasts over twenty minutes. The technical aspects are frequently lacking just a bit. There’s more than a little pixelation and a loud hum in the background of the audio at times. That said, I’m pretty impressed with it since the movie is almost ten years old. The entire featurette has the feel of a video that was found in the back corner of somebody’s closet. You get to see the trip to the desert, a bit of the hotel wake-up call, and the making of the actual movie including both Jim Enright and Steve Orenstein working with the cast. Steve Orenstein was perhaps the biggest thing that stood out to me. It’s great to see how Wicked’s head honcho handles things, and I think this is the only behind the scenes featurette I’ve seen him in. It’s an excellent behind the scenes featurette that gives you pretty much everything a person could want.

Overall: Currently, Western Nights can be found online for between $15 and $30 with many stores offering it for around $21. This is more than fair for what you get. The movie is far from perfect, but was so fun I couldn’t help but look past its faults. The technical aspects are very good for the age of the feature, and there’s even a great behind the scenes featurette.

Note to Wicked: It’s great to see you putting this much effort into a DVD for a movie this old!
