NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are a little weak, but not bad at all for an amateur release. The audio is slightly out of balance during the first two scenes, but a little more during the final scene. The final scene also has some wind noise, but there's no background noise outside of it. The video is presented in the full frame format. It's nicely lit even when it takes place outside at which point there's some natural shadows that don't interfere too badly. There's also a bit of noticeable grain and some minor camera motion. Altogether it would probably fall a little below the average level for a professional release, but for an amateur release it's average to slightly above average.

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that stays in the lower right corner for the first scene and the upper right corner for the second scene. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu keeps Shot at Home’s usual style with their logo and a photo from the movie. The chapter menu is also simple, and lets you choose where to go in the movie based on six stills.

The Feature

Cute is always good, but it's Wendy's spirit that makes the movie. That isn't to say that it interferes with the action, as it's hard not to notice with them stopping occasionally or moving the camera as they change positions. Good looks, enjoyment, chemistry, and even care into what the movie's going to look like. With that combination I can't help but hope that Wendy and Kyle make more movies for Shot at Home.

This is a nicely done homemade release.
