Wasteland (Elegant Angel) Review

Elegant Angel and Graham Travis release a marvelous feature length picture annually and this year’s entry is Wasteland. I saw his Portrait of a Call Girl last year and it was a marvelous adult film, both in the storyline and in the sex. Wasteland stars Lily Labeau and Lily Carter as two old high school friends who lost touch with each other over the years. This is a 2-disk feature with Disk 1 containing the full length movie, clocking in at just under 2 hours. The sex scenes are shorter during the movie but one of the extras on disk 2 is the full length sex scenes. The action I describe below is the extended scenes.

There’s also the Elegant Angel Podcast with the two Lily’s included (#54 if you care to listen to it on the website), two bonus scenes (Lily Carter with Lizz Tayler from Lesbian Workout and Lily Labeau with Andy San Dimas from Girl Crush 2), just over 7 minutes of BTS footage, deleted scenes and an interview with the director, Graham Travis.

SUMMARY

Another superbly written and acted feature film from Graham Travis and Elegant Angel. Lily Carter’s acting is excellent and the chemistry between the two Lily’s is palpable. In listening to the interviews, it took Graham a year to get this film from hi head onto a DVD. When people think of the studio, they probably think of great tease with hot gonzo features to follow. Well, so do I. But this is another feature directed from Graham that goes against type. This is a couples film, to be sure, with a well-acted and open ended story. The ambiguous ending makes you think about what the future holds for these two characters. But if you are a fan of either Lily (or both, as I am), you will want to check out this feature.
