The Short Story

Initial Expectations: This series has been okay, but far from fantastic. I’m expecting a decent job but nothing great.

Initial Reaction: Teri does a good job, but Digital Playground seems like they’re coasting for theirs.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting virtual sex that seems like it was pushing the limits for when it was released.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are okay. The audio is clear and well balanced, but the video leaves a bit to be desired. The lighting varies throughout the action, including between the two camera angles. There’s also a little pixelation that varies in severity through the movie. Finally, the edges seem “wobbly” during the missionary fucking, with a black bar bouncing on the bottom and right sides at some points and the left side having a very wide black bar. I think Virtual Sex with Teri Weigel has the worst technical aspects I’ve seen for the series.

Music: There’s a little standard porno music during the striptease and the story sections.

Menus: The menus have kept with the usual format for this series. The main menu features Teri standing and waiting while you make your choice on the menu below to start with. The sex selection menu then works itself around the edges of the screen with icons just a little smaller than the HOLLYWOOD letters on the hillside.

The Feature

After being well known as Penthouse Pet, big boobed brunette Teri Weigel gained plenty more attention moving into the wonderful world of porn in the early nineties. Roughly a decade later she’s still shattering eardrums with her screams and still has a devoted fanbase. Here, Digital Playground lets you control the action as Teri does whatever you want. They even let you control where you watch it from, giving you a POV angle and a side angle throughout the sex.

Teri starts things out with a strip tease that lasts about a minute and a half. Unlike most of the teases in this series, which normally put the girl in front of a blue screen full of fire, Teri’s footage comes from her feature dancing in different clubs. It’s okay, but is edited together so fast and furious that it never gained much heat for me.

Teri will also tell a few sexual stories in a voiceover as she strips down as a blonde on screen. She talks about her first foursome and what she likes a guy to do to her. It doesn’t last much over a minute and a half, and there’s a fair amount of dead air. This is a disappointing section.

Teri gives you the usual choices for action, complete with an innocent and a naughty mood. You can warm her bald beaver up with your fingers, a vibe, or your tongue. Teri will also suck your cock or let you fuck her in missionary, doggie, or either cowgirl. Of course you can also have Teri cum at any point during the foreplay and you can cum at any time during the sex.

For her part, Teri does a very nice job. She looks great despite being much more experienced that most porn stars, and looks like she’s having a great time. She’s energetic and vocal, and never gets into the shrieking vocals that made some people pick up a pack of earplugs along with her early videos. She even does a great job varying her vocals and her energy slightly to give the two different moods different feels. Teri does a very nice part through the virtual sex.

The other important part of a virtual sex title is the cumshots, and here Digital Playground doesn’t do so well. To start with, there’s one pop for each sex act rather than having separate orgasm sequences for the naughty and nice moods for each position. They also use animated pops for everything except for the blowjob pop, where Teri does a great job smearing a dribbly pop around her face. The animated pops show just why so many people hate them, and look almost like a Looney Tunes gag at times as they spray a few feet in the air before arcing around. The pop shot sequences also hurt the feature due to their looping. Rather than going back to the innocent or naughty sex act that it was drawn out of, it keeps looping in the pop. This might not be a big deal if the pops were long and drawn out, but there’s only one of them that goes over thirty seconds and they even go under ten seconds. The orgasm sequences leave plenty to be desired.

As usual, Digital Playground’s virtual mechanism is pretty good. The segments last around two minutes, with only one dropping below a minute and a half and with one pushing two and a half. They loop completely, but it doesn’t stand out as much as with some other companies because Joone always has the segment start in the act rather than just before it. This lets the action loop much better, and since Teri keeps her moods fairly even they normally flow pretty well. The biggest problem with the segments here is that many of them show editing cuts rather than having the continuous sequence they normally have.

Virtual Sex with Teri Weigel is an okay virtual sex simulator. Teri does a nice job, but Digital Playground feels like its dragging its feet here. The virtual sex here feels like it does on virtually every other title in the series that Digital Playground has released, and there’s absolutely nothing to make it seem special. The closest to anything feeling unique here is the strip tease segment being cut together from Teri’s feature dancing, and that’s so jumbled and quick that it made me long for most anything else. Please don’t get me wrong, Virtual Sex With Teri Weigel isn’t a bad virtual sex title. It does show some nice care for what it is and Teri does a great job. My problem here is that when Digital Playground only releases about one of these titles a year I’d expect to see some progress somewhere on the DVD from release to release. I don’t see that here, and because of it Virtual Sex With Teri Weigel left me disappointed.

The Extra Stuff

None. I guess some people consider the stories and tease extras, but with how the DVD is presented I consider it a part of the feature.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most of the Virtual Sex With... series can be found online for between about $20 and $35 with many stores offering it for under $25. Rent this one first. The action is limited but decently done. The technical aspects are a bit weak in the video, and there’s basically no effort put into the extras.

Note to Digital Playground: I know that this is one of your older virtual sex releases, so I won’t whine about things too much. It would be nice, however, if the viewer could see you making an effort to improve your current virtual sex titles from the level they were at when this was released.
