The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty well done. The audio is clear and well balanced. The only fault I think I heard with the audio was a very minor background noise near the start of the “movie”. The video varies a little, but for the most part is very clear and well lit. There’s a couple segments that seem a touch blurry, but not much.

Menus: The menus have kept with the usual format for this series. The main menu features Rocki standing and waiting while you make your choice on the menu below to start with. The sex selection menu then works itself around the edges of the screen with icons so large that they might not be able to be covered by Rosie O’Donnell’s shadow.

The Feature

Smoking hot big tittied brunette Rocki Roads was one of Digital Playground’s first contract girls. Here, they’re almost bringing her out of retirement to have her join the Virtual Sex With... lineup by bringing their Virtual Sex With Rocki Roads CD-ROM onto DVD. As usual, you get to control what “you” do to Rocki, what her mood will be, and what angle you watch things from.

Rocki gives you the usual choices on what to do to her. You can play with her pussy using your fingers, a vibe, or your tongue. She’ll also suck your cock to get you ready or finish you off, and let you fuck her pussy in missionary, doggie, or either cowgirl. For her part, Rocki normally does a pretty good job. She looks great, and is nicely vocal as well as energetic. Unfortunately, there’s very little difference between her moods. Rocki talks a little dirtier during the naughty mood, but it isn’t that noticeable a difference. For being one of the first girls involved with virtual sex, Rocki does a very good job.

Unfortunately, the pop shots aren’t nearly as nice. With the exception of the blowjob pop, they’re all animated in a manner that would make Chuck Jones smile. They’re laughable cartoon pops, and it’s easy to see why so many people were so turned off by virtual sex releases due to the popshots. The only salvation here is the pop shot for the blowjob. It’s not that impressive of a pop, but Rocki takes it as a facial with some nice enthusiasm. The pop shots are anything but impressive.

As usual, the virtual interface is pretty good. Digital Playground has barely tweaked it in the years this series has been around, so they’re obviously thinking it works. It’s fairly easy to maneuver once you’ve played through a Virtual Sex With... title, but since the pictures aren’t too clear the first time can be a little confusing. On the left side of the screen you’re given pictures for each sex act, while the right side of the screen lets you choose between oral, orgasm, to move between sex and foreplay, and to toggle between innocent and nasty. The choices move along quickly, and my main complaint with them is that once the orgasm sequence finished, the action kept looping in the orgasm sequence rather than going back to the longer mood sequence.

The looping is basic, but works very well. The sequences last between about a minute and a minute and a half, and loop completely through the sequence. Normally this wouldn’t be too good of a thing, as it would feel awkward at many points due to Rocki starting off not nearly as worked up as she ends up. Here, I was amazed. Yes, that problem does occur a few times, but more often than not the sequence started and stopped in such a way that the action is almost continuous. The looping of the sequences works better here than in any other Virtual Sex With... title that I’ve seen so far.

Virtual Sex With Rocki Roads is a simple but well done virtual sex title. I guess the simple part shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, as Rocki left the jiz biz several years ago. The only thing here that makes this release feel dated is the limited sex acts and the cheesy cartoon pops. The virtual aspect works extremely well, and the segments loop amazingly well. Rocki’s moods don’t really stand apart too well, but with her energy and vocals it was hard not to be drawn into the scenes. Virtual Sex With Rocki Roads is a well done virtual sex release that stands the test of time.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most of the Virtual Sex With... series can be found online for between about $20 and $35 with many stores offering it for under $25. I’d rent this one first just because it’s very limited for action. Other than that, Rocki does a great job that should really please a virtual sex fan. The technical aspects are pretty good, but there’s no effort put into extras.

Note to Digital Playground: It’s pretty obvious that this was a past CD-ROM release. If you’re going to release these older, and much more limited, virtual sex releases, please consider releasing them as double features. They’d make the release seem much more worth the money, and I’m sure that most people would pay a little extra for it as well.
