The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty well done. The audio is clear and well balanced. I don’t think I heard a single fault with the audio. The video is a little blurry. The selections look a little hazy, and although there are some areas when Janine is crystal clear there’s others where I felt like I should clean my glasses.

Music: There’s a little music during the tease and stories, but none during the virtual sex. Any music you hear here you’ve probably heard already in other installments.

Menus: The menus have kept with the usual format for this series. The main menu features Janine standing and waiting while you make your choice on the menu below to start with. The sex selection menu then works itself around the edges of the screen with icons so large that they were spotted by the Mars rover when it attempted to send a signal back.

The Feature

Janine seems to think her new look needs to be tried out with a little virtual action. In addition to a pierced tongue and hood, she has several new tattoos to go with her golden hair and fantastic body. She hasn’t gone so far as taking dick here, but will tolerate a man’s attention as long as it’s pushing the buttons on where the strap-on her girlfriend is wearing goes, deciding whether she’s going to be innocent or naughty, or which true angle you want to view the action from.

Janine starts things out with a tease lasting over four and a half minutes. She talks nicely to the camera as she strips out of her yellow shirt and purple bra and panties revealing a great rack and a pair of extremely artistic arm tattoos, among others. As Janine strips down, the camera wanders around her body to see just how much it can capture.

As usual for the series, Janine also tells a few sexy stories in front of a blue screen full of fire while she dances around and strips down. She talks about her first sexual experience with a man as well as her wildest sexual experience with women. She also talks about the eroticism of food and the rain as well as what she likes about men. It’s a nice little segment that adds to the overall experience.

Janine gives you the standard choices for what you can do together. You can warm her up with your fingers, a vibe, or your tongue, and she’ll even give you a blowjob or titty fuck you to make sure you’re ready. You can fuck her in the usual missionary, doggie, and both cowgirls, as well as spearing her ass as she lies on her side. For her part, Janine is fantastic, and in fact might do the most impressive job of any girl in the Virtual Sex With... series. She looks great, puts in some very nice energy, and most importantly, gives the two moods two completely different feels. She talks soft and sensually for the innocent mood, while kicking up the energy a notch and adding plenty of trash talk for the nasty mood. She even makes the action a little more extreme for the nasty mood by doing things like taking a double penetration with a pair of dildos with the toy foreplay section. The only problem with the entire thing is that she never takes a cock. It’s all done with a strap-on that’s obviously a toy from the first instant it takes the screen. There’s also several angles where you can see the girl’s tits (which in her defense, is a pretty nice rack). If Janine actually took cock here, this would easily be one of the best virtual performances out there.

Needless to say, the cumshots are all faked here. They leave plenty to be desired, but they’re faked as wet pops which works better than the animated pops. Janine normally rubs it in fairly quickly, which helps, but they still look obviously fake. The other problem with the pops is that there’s only one pop for each position, which means that they might not always fit the mood. This is much more true for the innocent mood than the naughty mood, and really stands out sometimes due to the sex act. The popshots leave a lot to be desired.

The virtual interface is pretty good. It’s fairly easy to maneuver once you’ve played through a Virtual Sex With... title, but the first time it’s a little confusing because the pictures aren’t too clear. On the left side of the screen there’s pictures for each sex act, while the right side of the screen lets you choose between oral, orgasm, anal, titty fucking, move between sex and foreplay, and toggle between innocent and nasty. The choices move along quickly, and my main complaint with them is that once the orgasm sequence finished, the action didn’t go back to the longer mood sequence and instead kept going with the short orgasm sequence.

The other major aspect of the virtual mechanism is the looping. Here, the positions sequences run within fifteen seconds of two minutes with the exception of the naughty anal, which lasts over three minutes. The cum shots are obviously shorter, and run between eighteen and thirty eight seconds. Each segment always returns to the start of the segment, so Janine will go from being way into the sex act to just getting warmed up. This is a problem that’s been solved in most current virtual releases, but it gives the segments a bit of an odd feel if you just want to watch Janine in a specific position. Digital Playground’s virtual mechanism is pretty well done, but a little tweaking would be a good thing.

Virtual Sex With Janine is an impressive virtual sex title. I’ll say right off that the main thing that holds this one back is that there’s no dick. With dick, this might have been my all time favorite virtual sex release. Janine does a fantastic job with keeping the two moods feeling unique and really looks to get into the action. Yes, she has a few years on her, but she looks great and shows that most women improve with a few years. The virtual mechanism is also pretty easy to use, and although it has a few of the early looping and popshot problems, Janine’s performance goes a long way towards making you forget about it. Virtual Sex With Janine is definitely worth a look if you’re a fan of virtual sex.

None. I guess some people consider the stories and tease extras, but with how the DVD is presented I consider it part of the feature.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most of the Virtual Sex With... series can be found online for between about $20 and $35 with many stores offering it for under $25. Rent this one first, as I think the toy only factor really holds it back. Other than that, though, Janine is fantastic and makes the virtual sex work as well as any other starlet I’ve seen. The technical aspects vary a little, but there’s nothing worth mentioning for extras.

Note to Digital Playground: I hope you bring Janine back for an “It’s a boy!” sequel!
