Initial Expectations: I’ve heard great things about this installment of Digital Playgrounds Virtual Sex with series, so I’m going in with high expectations.

Initial Reaction: It’s a great virtual sex simulator, with Devon turning in one of the best performances I’ve seen on this type of DVD.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of virtual sex and Devon

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants anal or to just sit back and watch some porn rather than playing with the sex

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is very clear and well balanced. I never heard so much as a hint of a background noise, and the level is even throughout the movie. The video is just as good. It’s evenly lit at a very good level, and there’s barely a hint of grain.

Music: None.

Disc Complaints/ False Advertising: There’s no time stamp here. No, it doesn’t really matter here since it isn’t a title that you don’t jump around in, but it still annoys me a little since I like to know about how long some of the segments are. This is easily lived with. On the other hand, there isn’t even an hour and a half of video on the DVD as I calculate it rather than the “Over two hours of video” advertised on the cover. You have eight selections to choose from in the virtual sex portion of the DVD. At about a two minute average each that makes sixteen minutes. Double that for the two different moods is thirty two minutes. Double that for two different angles is sixty four minutes. If I grossly exaggerate the pop shot sequence at a minute each, that ups it to seventy two minutes. There’s about five more minutes of extras for Devon which doesn’t even bring the video up to eighty minutes. Yes, there’s an annoying commercial at the start that I didn’t watch (since you can skip it), but I’ll be willing to bet that it doesn’t run anywhere close to the forty minutes necessary to make the two hour video claim true. As much as I hate to do it with this DVD, I’m deducting a half point from the overall score because of this. I hate to do it since I really liked this one, but I’ve done it to many other DVDs that also had blatantly false claims like this and fair’s fair.

Menus: The menus are basically integrated into the feature. They’re decently done, but they obviously go on a reversing loop. Devon’s motions at the start and end of the reversing segment are fairly obvious and jerky, and made her seem a bit robotic.

The Feature: Since she first burst onto the adult scene, blonde bombshell Devon has been getting a lot of attention. Yes, she has a noticeable pair of bolt on tits now, but her face is so cute and her smile so alluring that it’s easy to look past an imperfection or two (and I have yet to find somebody without any imperfections). All this works together to make her a great selection for this installment of Digital Playground’s Virtual Sex With... series.

You have many choices on how you want to have Devon. You can warm her up with your fingers, a vibe, or your tongue. The tongue option always seems silly to me, as it ends up as a light masturbation for the girl, but I can’t say I have any problem watching girls masturbate. Here, Devon does a great job of masturbating, and looks to concentrate more on that than trying to gyrate like your tongue is in her coochie. You also have the option of having Devon give you a blowjob, or can fuck her missionary, doggie, cowgirl, or reverse cowgirl style. Each segment lasts around two minutes, and gives you a closeup or a side view for a secondary angle. As usual when this DVD was made, the loops go back to the beginning of the chapter when they run out. Normally the loops fit together pretty good, but there are a couple that don’t match up at all.

Devon does an amazing job throughout it all. She walks the line of playing to the camera exceptionally well, and does so in a way that there are only a couple moments when I felt that snicker grow that always wants to come out when I see a performer obviously faking it. The snicker normally shows up a time or two in most scenes, but here it only showed up a couple times throughout the entire feature. Devon also has a nice change in energy and language for almost every scene when you switch between innocent and nasty. She rarely seems completely sweet and innocent in the innocent mood, but almost always puts out a bit more primal energy and trash talking when she’s in the nasty mode. For some reason this seems hard to do for many performers, so when Devon did it as well as she did here I only gained more respect for her as a performer.

That isn’t to say that everything is perfect. Some of the loops are very noticeable. The worst is the loop for the menus. Devon caresses herself, or at least appears to as a segment is run forward and backwards to make it look like Devon’s just rubbing herself while waiting for you to make up your mind. The start and stop are a little jerky, and unlike some areas on the DVD, the track is running continuously rather than restarting to make things longer. The camera angles also seem a little off for a few of the positions. They’re extremely close for both cowgirl positions, to the point that you don’t really get to see anything above the top of the crack in Devon’s ass. When it comes time for the pop shot, you can barely even tell that anything came out of the cock since there appears to be less than an inch between the end of the cock and the edge of the screen. The camera angle also seems a little off for the doggie style, as it stops at Devon’s neck in the main view, leaving her to play to the camera in the second angle where you can’t see anything close to penetration. These are fairly minor complaints, but they did seem quite noticeable to me.

Speaking of pop shots, they’re done very well here. No, they’re not all real, but they’re very close! Out of five pop shots, three of them were obviously real, one was obviously fake, and one I couldn’t tell despite watching it several times. I understand the difficulty in making a feature like this, and can easily live with this ratio. They last between seven and forty seconds, with most of them ending up around twenty to thirty seconds. Devon handles every pop naturally, and never shies away from a single one, including a facial for the blowjob.

Virtual Sex with Devon is the best virtual sex simulator I’ve seen made before companies figured out how to make the loops go back to the middle of the segment rather than the beginning. As always with this kind of feature, most of the credit goes to Devon. Yes, the guys who do the technical stuff deserve a lot of credit, but this is all about the suspension of fantasy and Devon does probably the best job I’ve seen with this kind of scenario. She plays to the camera extremely well, but never so much that you feel like she’s completely faking everything. That said, the technical guys also do a very good job. The loops normally fit together pretty well, and don’t throw you out of the fantasy when they restart. There are a few problems with the loops, but those are mostly that the loops are still fairly noticeable. Virtual Sex with Devon is a great virtual sex simulator!

Extras: Devon starts things off with a strip tease that lasts about three minutes. It’s a very nice way to start things out, and Devon plays to the camera very nicely. Devon also tells a story of her first sexual experience and one of her wildest sexual experiences in a voice over while she dances in front of a blue-screen of flame. It only lasts a couple minutes, but works nicely.

Overall: Currently, most of the Virtual Sex with series can be found online for between $21 and $32, with only a handful of stores offering it for under $25. If you’re a fan of Devon, this one is going to be worth every penny, even at the high end. There’s a few minor problems with the sex simulator, but they’re the same ones that held back every other virtual sex DVD around the time this one was released. Other than that, it’s excellent. Devon does a masterful job as the star, the technical aspects are great, and there’s even a couple extras. At the very least, spend the few bucks it costs to rent it and check it out!

Note to Digital Playground: Please watch your claims on the cover. I’ll admit that I was more than happy with this feature before I saw the two hour claim on the cover, and at that point I felt like I was missing something. With the reputation this series has earned I don’t think anybody would pass it by because it didn’t have a small line at the bottom saying whether it had more than two hours of video or not. Also, a few more extras and some credits would be really nice.
