Initial Expectations: Mother Productions / Fetish Films have put together some nice movies and lousy DVDs. I’m expecting to enjoy the movie and wince at the DVD.

Initial Reaction: It’s okay but nothing too memorable.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who’s a fan of Veronica Snow or who’s just curious about her

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting an all around well made DVD

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good for a no-budget porn movie. The audio is fairly clear and decently balanced for the most part. There’s a few background noises, but not so many that you wonder when the next one will come. The video is also done pretty well. It’s nicely lit and there’s just a hint of grain to it. There’s a bit of soft focus blur, no doubt from the use of the autofocus on the camera, but thankfully most of the blurs are quickly cleared up.

Music: None

Disc Complaints: There’s no time code for the movie. This always ticks me off, as I often like to jump back to specific points in the movie and without a time code one can’t do it. As I understand it, a time code takes next to nothing for time or effort, so the lack of one always gives a DVD a very cheap feel for me.

Menus: Mother Productions’ menus give perhaps the worst first impressions I’ve found. The main menu is just a title screen where you hit a button to start the movie. Rather than going right into the movie it brings you to the chapter menu, which just lets you choose a scene based on a number on a colored block.

The Feature

Veronica Snow Melts Down collects five scenes featuring the lovely brunette. It appears to be a compilation, as I’ve seen one of the scenes before, but I can’t say for sure. All I know for sure is that there isn’t really any lead-in to the scenes, and some of them feel like they’re joined shortly after starting.

Scene 1 - Veronica Snow, Rachel, Mikey, and Johnny Madnis

Veronica starts things out letting Rachel work on her with a vibe. Veronica mentions letting a few other friends play with them, at which point somebody knocks on the door. She goes out to find Mikey and Johnny about to watch the game, but the guys decide they’d rather play with the girls instead of watching the game. Johnny and Veronica pair up while Rachel goes over to Mikey, and the guys immediately show themselves to be gentlemen by giving the ladies a little oral pleasure. They head to the bedroom after Mikey pokes Rachel from behind, and they keep the oral love going a bit more before Johnny starts fucking Veronica from behind. The girls let the guys keep on working them over, and mix in a bit of oral and play with each other as they fuck in several positions. The guys also trade back and forth between the girls before they finish things up with them fucking the girls from behind. Finally Johnny pops on Rachel’s ass and back before Veronica stokes him a couple times to see if anything’s left. Mikey never looks like he pops, and the scene fades out before you get to see if he does or not.

This is a pretty good scene. There’s great chemistry between Veronica and her friends, and the entire scene has a feeling of playfulness and fun. It isn’t an over the top feeling, but it is a feeling where you feel everybody’s just there to have some fun fucking. The biggest problem here is the camera work, which seems very limited even for an amateur movie. The scene also feels like it could have used another edit to cut it down a little more, as it currently comes in at about a half hour and definitely drags in a few places.

Scene 2 - Veronica Snow and Joe Balls

Veronica starts out the second scene sucking Joe’s cock before laying back for him to eat her pussy. She goes back to sucking him from a couple different angles, and finally takes a pop on her tits to finish things up.

This is a very forgettable scene. Thankfully it gets over pretty quick, but it seemed very uninspired and made me wonder if the guy was having wood problems with how Veronica was moving around to work on him.

Scene 3 - Veronica Snow and Mikey

Veronica dons a blonde wig for Mikey to work on her in the third scene, which comes from Internal Cumming 2. She lets Mikey tongue her twat with a nice break in the middle to strip him down and suck his cock. This is another below average scene. Mikey appears to have some wood problems, and I think Veronica overdoes some of her moaning because of it. They look lost a couple times, as well as Veronica looking really frustrated a couple times. Although I thought Veronica was really cute in her blonde wig it wasn’t enough to make the scene work for me.

Scene 4 - Veronica Snow and Rod Fontana

When Nurse Veronica has a little down time, she decides it’s time for a self examination in a scene which comes from Dr. Dick 2. Dr. Rod finds her shortly after she starts, and insists on helping her to try to keep good co-worker relations going. They start with a breast exam before Dr. Rod moves down below with a speculum. Next Dr. Rod tries to find a tongue depressor, but when he can’t he improvises with his cock. They test out Veronica’s gag reflex before climbing back on the exam table so she can have her cervix checked. This is a good scene. The camera work frequently lacks, but the Rod and Veronica have a lot of fun with the scene and throw in plenty of bad jokes. They also put in plenty of energy to help make this the best scene in the movie.

Scene 5 - Veronica Snow, Rod Fontana, John Janison, and an uncredited guy

Finally, Veronica has Rod, John, and another guy join her in the bedroom. She’s having trouble waiting for them, but before she can get much of a diddle in they show up. They get right down to business sucking her tits, eating her pussy, and letting her suck a little cock before John starts fucking her missionary style. The mystery man goes next with a bit of doggie style before Rod gets some of the cowgirls. John gives up the first pop on Veronica’s back after giving it to her from behind again. This is an okay scene. Veronica and the guys look like they’re enjoying themselves, but the entire thing has a very amateurish feel (and not in the good way). The camera is frequently on the move but often seems a little lost. It also gives the scene a claustrophobic feel which made it way too easy for me to look away from. This is an okay scene with as much going for it as holds it back.

Veronica Snow Melts Down is an average at best movie, and I’m pretty sure it’s a compilation. I like that there’s a variety of scenes to showcase Veronica, but some of them just seem a little off due to the casting. A few of the guys seem to have wood problems and Rod just seems wrong because you can tell he wants to push things a little while Veronica wants to keep things soft and playful. The camera work also holds things back, which I think is mostly because the movie falls halfway between an amateur movie and a studio movie. That said, there are some nice things about the movie as well. Veronica is very nice looking and looks like she enjoys sex. She appears to try to bring a fun and playful spirit to each scene, which really helps the movie out and is something I wish a few more stars would try. It’s not enough to make Veronica Snow Melts Down something I think everybody should rush out and buy, but it is nice enough that I wouldn’t steer people away from giving it a rent either. Veronica Snow Melts Down is a decent little diversion.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Mother Productions’ DVDs can be found online for between about $20 and $25, with very few stores offering them. As usual with Mother Productions DVDs I have to advise a rental on this one first. The movie’s okay and has some nice technical aspects, but the overall DVD lacks so much that I really can’t see anybody paying over $10 for it.

Note to Mother Productions / Fetish Films: A little more effort towards your overall DVDs would go a long way. Please try to include real menus, and if you really feel like kicking things up a notch include something like a bonus scene from one of your other movies (and make sure people know where it comes from so they can check the rest of the movie out if they like the scene).
