Vamps (Penthouse) Review

What I Liked
The colorful sets and costumes were all very well done. I liked the often scary music that played in the background too. Seeing Jenna Haze play the sexiest vampire I have ever seen as she went down on the film's first victim was an added treat.

I liked how the movie was actually a series of smaller vampire stories which included: "Vampyre Tales"; "Eternal"; "Closed on Mondays"; "Woman in the Water", and "Open House". Here you are given five different stories with different actors and sets, all with a different vampire theme. In a sense you are not getting just one movie, but rather five, plus the opener with Jenna makes six in all. This makes the movie worth more in my eyes since this much variety adds to the movies excitement level. If one scene doesn't interest you, there are at least five more to look at.

I thought the bite scene in the story titled "Vampyre Tales" was the hottest though, but all scenes were good. In this scene a beautiful young actress is seen reading a vampyre novel while a male vampire sneaks up behind her and bites her on the neck. Then it's a two male one female BJ scene with mad sex. I liked how the movie quickly moved along from one bite scene to the next with lots of anal, BJ and sex scenes in between.

I liked the extras that came with the movie such as Jenna Haze's private dance and the behind the scene footage. I thought when Jenna layed down on that bed the heat she generated almost set me on fire.

What I Disliked
I didn't like the lighting, it looked too dark for me. I know that the producer was looking for effect, but poor lighting also takes away details from the characters. I wished the camera would have gotten closer during the sex and bite scenes. And I hoped for more suspense leading up to the bite scenes. There was no romance, just sex and bite scenes.

Even though Jenna's private dance was hot, it could have been scorching if while laying on the bed she let her head hang off the edge of the bed a little while playing with herself a little. She generates heat no matter what she does, I think this would have been even hotter.

Overall Thoughts
The movie is a solid 3.5 in my book. It offers six different vampire encounters with different settings and actors. The acting, sets and music were perfect. The lighting and scenes were lacking a bit visually as I would have liked more details and closer views of the actors during sex and when bit. This kept me from giving the film a higher overall rating. I hope Penthouse does a sequel. This format with six different scenes works well. Jenna was outstanding as a vampire and I look forward to seeing her play the role of the one bitten one day.

I bought this movie and added it to my collection of vampire porn. I recommend it to anyone interested in vampire films.
