The Abridged Version: I remember reading a press release not to long ago from Randy West announcing his retirement. In it, he stated his need to step to the side for younger male performers. He conceded that if a girl wanted to work with him he wouldn’t turn her down so it was not a full retirement, but for all intents and purposes he was to be done with performing and switch to focusing completely on directing. It’s years later now and I am still wondering when this new policy will take place. In fact, since then the exact opposite has happened: he has cut costs by putting himself into most of his scenes now instead of hiring a more aptly qualified young gun. What does this mean? Well, his once great Up and Cummers series is now more about watching an older guy press through scenes instead of presenting up and coming girls to watch out for. His fellow geriatric director/performer colleague Pussyman has fallen into the same trap. But when it comes down to it, would I rather watch Randy with a girl or Ed Powers with a girl? Definitely Randy. And so I just dealt with my pre-conceptions and watched this one. Wow. This really is a strong Pro-Am video. Gia and Nyomi are rather forgettable, but Maya and Mia Parks are off the chart hot. Randy manages to work his way through those scenes, showing no sign of his age other than the gray hair and somewhat recent and comical ponch hovering over where his thin stomach used to be. I’d rather not choose between Randy and Ed and just track down these girls in some higher quality, hardcore action. However, Up and Cummers 124 is evidence that Randy is still capable of delivering his past glories. No doubt that his product is not what it once was and he has become wildly inconsistent but this one is about as good as you can get from the guy at this point. Damn, Mia Parks is hot.

Rent it or Buy It: Due to Mia and Maya, this is a definite rental. However, Gia and Nyomi were rather forgettable, despite my overly kind words about Gia and Killer. That keeps this from being a candidate for purchase.

The DVD: This DVD and the menus are fare more impressive and user friendly than the older New Machine DVDs were. They’ve definitely improved in that area. I also liked the glorified chapters option called “choose your girl” where you can choose a girl to go right to and where at in the scene you want to start at. There are still slim extras, with just a picture gallery and trailers for other New Machine titles, whether they be Randy West one’s or not.
