Initial Expectations: I’m not so sure about this one, but with Lena Ramon I have to give it a chance!

Initial Reaction: As a B-movie type feature it works great. As a bondage feature, it doesn’t work so great.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: Technical aspects in bondage movies are traditionally lacking, but here they’re not too bad. The audio varies throughout the movie. Most of it is pretty good, but some of it gets a little scratchy and acts as if it’s maxing out the recording equipment. The video is similar, but not quite as bad. It’s normally lit pretty well, but it isn’t too consistent going from one angle to another. There’s also a varying amount of pixelation throughout the movie. Compared to your average feature this one lacks a little, but for a bondage movie it’s pretty well done.

Music: There’s a bit of harder rock music in the background. It fits the movie nicely and helps things out.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu has a little of the movie with stills while the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number.

The Feature

Lena Ramon (doing her best to look like Lara Croft) has set out to find the hidden lair of a bondage queen from long ago. When she finally finds it with the help of her able-bodied assistant Keri, she accidently cuts her hand and drips blood on the dead body she finds. It brings the Undead Bondage Master back to life, or at least undeath, and soon after the girls and Devin, who is renting the building where they find the casket, are trapped in the building with the Undead Bondage Master until somebody arrives in the morning to let them out.

Scene 1 - Devin DeMoore and The Mystery Man

Devin starts things out tied with a few ropes and with her hands suspended above her head. The Mystery Man gives her a ball gag to silence her screaming a bit and then lightly flogs her ass. He takes a break to tie her ankles with another rope before flogging her again, and then takes another break for a little rope bondage around Devin’s tits. Next up he breaks out some shrink wrap. He wraps it around Devin to start making a cocoon and then adds a layer of duct tape. Finally, he wraps a bit of cellophane around Devin’s head.

This is an okay scene. I like the mix of bondage styles as well as the creative and artistic look of the scene. Devin seems to be into the scene nicely, and plays the fear very well while also playing into it a bit. This is a pretty good scene and is definitely helped by its unique feel.

Scene 2 - Devin DeMoore and Lena Ramon

Devin finds herself transformed and takes control over Lena next. She ties Lena’s hands behind her back, slaps some duct tape across Lena’s mouth, binds Lena’s ankles, and finally hogties her. Devin works Lena over with a crop before things move away to The Undead Bondage Master.

This is an okay at best scene. Devin and Lena do a nice job, but the scene seems like it’s over almost as fast as it starts. It’s a fraction of the length of the opening scene, and I think that if it went on as long as the first scene it would have been a lot better. I was also a bit disappointed here because Lena was the main reason I picked this movie up and to have her solo scene this short was a major disappointment.

Scene 3 - Keri Star and Mystery Man

The Mystery Man takes Keri away to test her. He gags her with an inflatable gag and ties her to a chair to work her over with a velvet wand. After working her with the velvet wand he leaves her to check on Devin and Lena.

This is another okay at best scene. It felt even shorter than Lena’s scene, but I think the enjoyment was a little more obvious here. This scene also left me a little disappointed.

Scene 4 - Lena Ramon, Devin DeMoore, Keri Star, and The Mystery Man

Finally, The Mystery Man gags the three ladies and binds them to a framework. He flogs the girls, focusing quite a bit on Lena. He finally stops when his lost love appears.

This is a disappointing scene. Once again it seems very short and never had a chance to build up to much. It also seemed a bit lopsided with the heavy focus on Lena. I know that she’s the reason I picked up the movie, but the focus on her didn’t seem quite right here. This scene doesn’t make it up to the average level.

Undead Bondage Master is a good idea that just doesn’t make it as far as it should. The Mystery Man does some things very nice. To start with, he does a very nice job with the plot. It’s definitely enough to build the movie around, and the cast does a nice job acting their way through it. The production values also feel right for the movie. They’re cheap, but they fit the B-movie style of the movie. The entire problem with the movie is the bondage scenes. Devin’s scene is the only one I’d call an average length, and the others all seem like they could go on much longer than they do. It’s really too bad since this seems like a great bondage cast. Lena, Devin, and Keri all do a very good job with their roles, but Devin is the only one to have things mixed up a little in her scene. For the other girls, they get worked over with one tool for a couple minutes and the scene’s done. The cast looks to be into bondage action quite well, and I think another ten or fifteen minutes of action here would have made Undead Bondage Master into a very good bondage feature.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for Abduction on Devil’s Peak, Undead Bondage Master, Tough Task, Psycho Sexuals, and Traffickers. The photo gallery includes nearly one hundred snapshots of varying size which normally look really good. There’s also a behind the scenes featurette, interviews, and a commentary.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts nearly seven minutes. You get to see some of the scene prep, the scenes being shot, and the cast having a little fun between takes. It’s an okay featurette, but the video and audio quality leave a bit to be desired. The video sometimes gets a little pixelated. The audio, which does show a bit of extra care with a little background music, often gets a little scratchy and has a few bad balance problems.

The interviews last almost four minutes. It starts with Keri Star, who talks about how she got the job in the movie. From there it moves into most of the cast having a bit of lunch and onto the set. It’s an okay featurette, but it has many of the problems of the behind the scenes featurette technically. It also seems like it would be much better if it were made a part of the behind the scenes featurette.

The commentary features The Mystery Man and Bob Hollywood, who between them wrote, directed, and edited the movie. They talk about bondage, the cast, and the making of the movie, just like one would hope they would. They do a great job and keep things moving and entertaining. It’s a surprisingly good commentary, and well worth a listen.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of B&D Pleasures’ DVDs can be found online for between $17 and $25, with only a few stores offering them. I’d rent this one first. The action is very different, and it has a decent plot to set it apart from many other bondage movies. The technical aspects lack a little (although they’re better than I’m used to for bondage features) and there’s some decent effort put into the extras. This is a nicely done DVD, but I’m not sure how much replay value it will have for a lot of people.

Note to B&D Pleasures: Please focus a little more on your technical aspects. It was great to see you putting so much effort into the other aspects of the DVD, but the technical aspects had some noticeable flaws which shouldn’t take much effort to correct.
