Brief Synopsis

 

There are six boy/girl scenes in this movie. The scenes include some good foreplay: Some kissing and oral for each person. When it comes to intercourse, Playgirl’s scenes are probably a little shorter than the average porn; they usually include just two positions. The sex is softer than in male oriented porn but its still hard core with views of penetration. There are no facials or anal in Playgirl’s movies. There also isn’t any gagging, slapping, spitting or anything else abusive, which is something I do appreciate. The scenes are interesting enough that I was not tempted to fast-forward.

 

The lighting, editing, and camera work are excellent, creative and interesting. Although there is a lot of artistic and creative touches it never interferes. The soundtrack was pretty good in this movie but not as good as usual.

 

Playgirl makes some pretty good porn, especially if you like your sex scenes pretty vanilla. Their incidentals are always top notch, too. I’m still surprised how close they are to male oriented porn given that I believe their intended audience is female.

Compared to other Playgirl titles, this one is below average. I thought Bodies in Heat, Sinful Temptations, Lessons In Love and All Lubed Up were much better than this one. 

 

Introduction

 

I've seen at least nine movies from this studio so I'm beginning to learn what to expect from them. There are a lot of similarities among their movies but there are enough differences so that I don't feel I'm getting a product based on a formula. Playgirl tailors their movies to a female audience but they are still pretty similar to straight male oriented movies. Initially I was surprised to how similar these movies are to regular male oriented porn.

 

Another thing that surprised me was how many of the actors and actresses were the same as the ones used by most studios. Either they were trying to get some cross over in their audience or they just were playing it safe. They do represent a nice variation, and there were no typical looking porn stars so maybe that was the criteria.

 

Most of the female stars are ones I’ve seen before. The casting people do use a really good variety of girls. I am a fan of two of the girls used in this movie. Between the makeup, hair styling, wardrobe, and lighting all the girls looked really good.

 

I was surprised by the choice of male stars in this movie. Usually Playgirl uses guys I’m not unfamiliar with that are studly looking guys probably chosen for their appeal to the women. In this movie they were mostly well known porn stars and not that great looking.

 

Production

 

The lighting, editing, and camera work are excellent, creative and interesting. The focus and lighting is usually pretty soft. Although there is a lot of artistic and creative touches it never interferes. It seems to me that in some movies the production staff use the lighting, editing, and camera work to make sure you know how creative and talented they are. Occasionally they cross the line and reduce the “watchability” of the movie. I think the staff of Playgirl does a great job of approaching that line but never crossing it.

 

The scenes started and ended with music but you could hear the sex in the middle. One thing that I’ve really like in other Playgirl movies is the music. It's different for each scene and it's pretty good (for porn). The soundtrack was pretty good in this movie but not as good as usual.

 

Playgirl usually uses a voice over to provide the lead-in and structure to the scene. They usually don’t use dialog but you can hear the ambient sounds of the lovemaking. It is similar to Barely Legal and some Private titles, using voice-overs instead of relying on the actors acting ability to set the foundation.

 

The makeup, hair styling, wardrobe are all done very well. The sets are excellent, too.

I was surprised to see Playgirl cast Steven St. Croix; he is a 40-year-old actor who has been in a thousand movies. Personally, I don’t he is that great looking. Rachel Roxx is in her mid-twenties and been in about a hundred movies. She is very pretty. She has a nice tight body, too. She has fake boobs but they are nice. She is in a short dress

This scene breaks from Playgirl tradition in that there is a dialog in this scene. Steven is a record label executive and he is interviewing Rachel in a stylized office. As the action starts the music, a rock n’ roll type tune takes over. As Steven starts to seduce her she does a pretty good job of looking reluctant and uncomfortable. This scene takes place at a nice house. The color of the video is manipulated to produce a stylized effect.
