The Review |
Synopsis:
The lives of five different couples on different life paths intersect at a small diner. As the film plays out, we see how each couple somehow affects another one dining at the diner.
Audio/Video:
The available audio track for the film is an English 2.0 Stereo track, which works well for the material being presented. The dialog is clear and easy to hear at all times. As most of the film is either dialog scenes or sex scenes anything over a stereo track would end up being a waste. No other language tracks and no subtitle options are available.
Turning Point is presented in the full screen aspect ratio, which is the original aspect ratio for the film. The picture on the disc is flawless with no artifacts, blemishes or glitches present anywhere. The colors are perfectly balanced, making for a great viewing experience. If only some of the other studios could release discs like this.
Special Features:
Wicked has packed this disc full of extras and many of them have to do with the feature film. First up are several interviews that are on the disc. There is an interview with Jonathan Morgan, which focuses on his film making, Sydnee Steele, in which she focuses on the dance circuit, and Kylie Ireland, in which she talks about various dildos. There is a piece called Girls of Turning Point, which is a seven minute feature that focuses on several of the girls from the film in softcore/masturbation scenes.
There is a feature film length commentary track with Jonathan Morgan and Sydnee Steele that tells a lot about the making of the film. All Access: The Making of the Turning Point is an excellent 21 minute in depth piece on the making of the film. Bloopers, Gags & Outtakes contains mostly off camera antics. Included on the disc is also an alternate ending for the film. Not much was changed for it, but it's interesting to watch.
There are audio bios for Sydnee Steele, Devinn Lane, Kristal Summers, Julia Ann, Kylie Ireland, Brad Armstrong, Randy Spears, Joel Lawrence, and Jonathan Morgan containing audio and text information about the star. Wicked has also packed the disc with photo galleries with the main photo gallery and star galleries for Sydnee Steele, Devinn Lane, Nikita Denise, Kristal Summers, Kylie Ireland, and Julia Ann. All the photos in the galleries are on a track so you don't have to flip through them yourself.
Wicked has also included their standard extras with their promotional materials from recent expos. Wicked Awards - Winners and Nominations is a listing of all Wicked films that have been nominated for or won awards. The company profile gives a brief history of Wicked Pictures. There is a short advert for the Free Speech Coalition. There are also trailers included on the disc for Working Girl, Vengeance, Crazed, and Hell on Heels.
DVD-ROM Special Features:
Wicked has included their standard DVD-ROM extras on the disc. There is the Wicked Web, which is a gateway link to Wicked's website. Also included is the Wicked Casino, which is a free casino program that you have to install on your computer that allows you to play casino style games online against opponents for Wicked Cash or just by yourself for fun. The available casino games are Black Jack, Roulette, Baccarat, Slots and Poker.
Navigation:
There are six chapters available from the main menu for Turning Point. They are identified by a video clip from the scene that the chapter goes to. There is a time code encoded on the disc for the feature film.
General Review:
Turning Point is an excellent all around film from Wicked. To begin with, it has a decent plot to it, but one that doesn't intrude into the sex scenes. The plot is simplistic so the viewer doesn't have to worry about following anything too complex, but original so it isn't the same rehash that you have seen over and over again.
The cast looks good and does a decent job with their roles. The pairings have good sexual chemistry together and create some hot sex scenes. The only issue that I have with the cast is Kristal Summer's fluorescent wig doesn't seem to quite work for me. I understand what they were trying to do, but it wasn't quite right. However, this is a very minute detail and won't interfere with anyone's enjoyment.
The sex scenes in the film are well done and should appeal to a wide variety of viewers. Viewers that require anal sex or nasty sex may be disappointed, but couples to middle-of-the-road viewers will find much to please them here. One of the best aspects to the sex scenes is that in several of the scenes, the men don't jerk off to climax but are brought to a climax by the woman. The sexual themes in the film are oral and vaginal sex with lesbianism, anal fingering, toys, and anal toys. For viewers who care about such things, condoms are used in all of the scenes.
The sets are well done, with an exception going again to the scene Kristal Summers is in as well. The diner is great and very believable and the set for Kristal's scene is good, the problem in that scene is the lighting. The set is kept too dark for my liking and instead of creating the mood it became a hindrance toward watching the sex scene. The film sports some nice camera work and gives a variety of good camera angles which freshen up the scenes.
The Scenes:
In the first scene, Randy Spears pairs up with Sydnee Steele for some pussy licking, followed by a blow job and then the vaginal sex with a blow job finale. In the second scene, Brad Armstrong and Julia Ann get together for some pussy licking, the vaginal sex, with some anal fingering toward the end and a blow job climax. In the third scene, Devinn Lane and Nikita Denise get together for some lesbian action. The scene starts with Devinn sucking on a double headed dildo before Nikita gives Devinn's pussy some attention. After they start using the dildo they both get on for a ride before Devinn uses a butt plug on Nikita for the finale.
The fourth scene features Joel Lawrence and Kylie Ireland and starts with a blow job before moving into the pussy licking. Then they head into the vaginal sex before the blow job finale. In the fifth scene, Steve Hatcher pairs up with Kristal Summers starting out with a blow job before the vaginal sex before going back to a blow job again. Steve pulls his pud to end the scene. In the sixth and final scene, Sydnee Steele returns to be paired with Julian for some pussy licking, a blow job and then the vaginal sex. Julian wanks one out at the end of this scene.
Parting Thoughts:
Turning Point is an excellent film from Wicked which will appease many viewers from couples to the average porn watcher. The plot is well done and keeps interest, but doesn't intrude into the sex. Viewers that require nasty sex or hate a plot to interfere with their porn may not find this film to their liking. This is a film to consider for purchase as you'll find yourself wanting to watch it more than once.
