Transgression is a vignette-style transgender hardcore movie from co-writers Ricky Greenwood and Maddy Barton and director Ricky Greenwood. Transgression is broken up into four vignettes, or as Ricky Greenwood calls them in the movie acts, that are thematically related. Each of the scenarios are related to each other by their showing of a different taboo act a sultry voiceover, performed by Natalie Mars, informs the viewer as we are shown just a beautiful shot of her striking eyes.

Each of the acts, except the last one, follows a standard vignette-style pattern with a plotted opening that then leads into the sex scene and has a short wrap up. Natalie Mars gives a voice over before each following vignette to let the viewer know the taboo the vignette features in its story. The acts, in order, are “Masturbation,” “Pornography,” “Adultery,” and “Disobedience.”

Transgender adult movies are still very much a small niche market and as a result, have a far smaller budget than standard straight or gay adult movies. Fans of Ricky Greenwood's feature movies will notice that he is operating on a smaller budget than he does with his features in Transgression; however, he still manages to give Transgression the same glossy and well-produced look his feature movies have.

Ricky Greenwood has done an excellent job constructing the vignettes for Transgression and has created stories with the amount of substance that all companies creating transgender vignette movies should be striving for in their movies. The vignettes aren't just slapped together to get to the sex but take some time to let the viewer get into the scene before the sex starts.

The sex scenes are well done as well. All of the sex scenes in the movie are boy/girl pairings, and the cast does an excellent job — with both the plotted material and the sexual material. The cast appears to be entirely at ease with each other during the sex scenes and seem to be enjoying themselves. Ricky Greenwood has also included small aspects to each of the scenes that raise the eroticism of them; for instance, in the “Adultery” act, Ryder Monroe's husband (Pierce Paris) is in bed behind her sleeping when she has sex with her brother-in-law Dante Colle in the same room.

As is standard for Ricky Greenwood's movies, the locations that are used in Transgression are beautiful and fit the movie perfectly. The movie is also beautifully shot for the sex portions and the plotted portions. Transgression looks gorgeous overall.

At this point we get to the final scene “Disobedience,” the one that doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the movie; which isn't bad a bad aspect of the scene in any way. In her heartfelt voiceover, Natalie Mars tells the viewer that in today's world, just being transgender is, sadly, taboo as we are presented with images of the actresses in the movie. Unfortunately, those who need to hear Natalie Mars' voice over are not the audience who are watching this movie — nonetheless, the final scene introduction is touching. The scene, itself, is presented as a straight-forward sex scene without the need for a plotted script and is an excellent finale to the movie.

Fans of transgender adult movies are going to love Transgression. The movie is more visually impressive than most of the movies being made in the genre, features an excellent cast, and some fun stories. If you are someone who has never seen a transgender movie, this would be an excellent starting piece since Ricky Greenwood has done a lot to elevate it above the rest being produced in the genre.

TransSensual has done a nice job with their DVD release of Transgression. Transgression was shot digitally and is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 in 480p. The image quality for the movie is excellent with beautiful colors and no noticeable blemishes at all.

Transgression is presented with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo audio track. The overall sound quality of the movie is good. The only issue with the sound quality is that the volume of the dialog for the second act is lower than the rest of the movie and there is a hiss present for that segment of audio. Other than this one issue the sound is good, and despite the problem, the dialog can be understood throughout the movie.

TransSensual hasn't included much for extras for Transgression. There is a ten-minute cum shot reel, showing all the cum shots from the movie, and there is a photo gallery included on the disc.

Transgression is a transgender vignette-style adult movie from acclaimed co-writer and director Ricky Greenwood. Ricky Greenwood has done an excellent job with Transgression with fun stories for the vignettes, an excellent cast, and good production values. No fan of the genre is going to want to miss this movie. TransSensual has done a good job with their DVD release with good audio and excellent video quality but has shortchanged on extras.
