Torn (New Sensations) Review

Greetings porn fans. I have another title here that I'd been wanting to check out for some time. Torn from New Sensations has garnered a lot of praise over the last few months so my anticipation was high when putting this one one once I finally had my hands on a copy. I can safely say I was not disappointed in any way with this release and if you haven't checked it out yet then you really should. The story written by Jacky St. James and co-directed with Eddie Powell is a powerful story based on a true story. There are already a couple good reviews for this show so let me just add a little more on my impressions after watching it.

The biggest feeling that initially struck me was how impressive the acting was from the principals in this show, chiefly Remy La Croix and Steven St. Croix. Credit too has to be given to Jacky St. James for writing such powerful and emotive lines for these two and this comes through big time in the cinematography. I was also impressed by Raylene who has a supporting role in this, somewhat humorous but also very direct at times which was helpful in advancing the story forward. India Summer plays the wife who comes across as very unemotional and this has hampered the marriage for some time as Steven so eloquently puts in during some voice over work. When the big affair comes out India isn't emotional heartbroken as you might expect and deals with it in the same rational manner she deals with everything else which was a big problem in their relationship and helped push Steven to have the affair.

| This movie does feature sex as it is an adult feature after all and the first scene helps put forth a couple things-- showing how direct Raylene is and also how open she is which was a trait shared by Remy. Along with Raylene in the scene you had Samantha Ryan who we meet at a party celebrating Raylene's anniversary to Tom Byron. Turns out the couple are swingers and this has helped them stay married for 17 years up to that point. Well India is caught in the bathroom when the trio engages in their carnal lust and is taken aback, almost throwing up when it was done and everyone had gone. You see there how almost rigid India is and probably wouldn't be open to something like that with Steven. At this party Steven meets Remy and their first meeting is casual and nothing really comes from it.

The two meet again at the office where Steven works with Raylene and Remy wants to shoot Steven for a project she's working in. She thought he photographed well at the party and he agrees. The shoot happens and Remy gets Steven to open up about various aspects of his life while she snaps away getting those raw shots that show a persons true emotional state. The attraction is building and before taking his final leave Steven lets her know this is the most open he has ever been and even kisses her. Remy starts to go through the emotions because she feels the attraction as well, even her roommate thinks this is a bad idea. But when she goes to show Steven the pictures at his office a few days later Remy can't control herself and the two act on their feelings. Several shots then stream across the screen as they engage in their affair. Steven does more voice over work here that moves the story along.

As you might expect things don't stay this blissful forever and eventually road blocks start popping up that keep Remy and Steven apart the final one being India's dad having a heart attack and he agreeing to go with her to check on him rather than attending a gallery show opening that Remy had put together which featured those pics of Steven along with others. This was the final straw and Remy put an end to their affair. So far we've seen some powerful acting between the two and this scene where Remy ends it was right up there. Not long after at work Raylene lets Steven know she's known about the affair for some time. She wonders what Steven will do, does he want to save his marriage or give Remy a real commitment. In the mean time there is another sex scene which was Remy's first really that we get to watch for some sustained action. She goes back home where Chad Alva her roommate offers some comfort rather than doing the I told you so deal.

Steven has been with India for 15 years so they do try and make it work after he comes clean with India about the affair. It takes her a little time before allowing this to happen so the two work on it for almost a year before finally putting an end to their marriage. This allows Steven to go over to Remy's studio and let her know that it was finally and completely over with India, he's single and ready to offer the deepest commitment to her. Remy listens attentively and we do get our happy ending when she lets him know there is no one else in her life. The two have fucked in the film already but nothing that we've been able to fully enjoy until this last bit of the film. It was worth the wait and the great chemistry Steven and Remy have had acting wise translates beautifully to their big sex scene which puts a nice bow on this complicated story.

After it is done we get a superb final addition story wise as we learn the real fates of the characters portrayed in this movie. I won't spoil it for you but suffice to say if you've enjoyed the movie up to this point you'll be very happy when learning how everyone made out. Now for extras you get a very nice 30 minute plus bts to check out. A must have for Remy fans and I'd say for Raylene fans too. This looks to be her last year in the biz and Raylene goes out with a super good performance in this release. India Summer did very well in this release in a difficult role. Superb job all around and easily one of the years best features.
