Elegant Angel has been one of the most dependable studios in the industry when it comes to producing quality Blu-ray titles. Their stable of directors truly knows how to deliver reference material visuals, without sacrificing the right angle to capture the hardcore sex. Tori Black is Pretty Filthy continues this streak of excellence, yet it features a number of original concepts that make it stand out.

Chief among these are the confessionals. Each chapter begins with a static close-up of Tori Black, sitting by herself, as she articulates a wide range of opinions and emotions. If it weren't for Mason's voice being heard in one of these clips, you would think Tori has the room to herself, with only the viewer (you) as her audience. In minimal makeup, she gives us a raw and candid peek into her mind. I applaud whoever decided to structure the main feature around these confessionals, instead of the more conventional method of relegating them to the Behind-the-Scenes video. In short, this is the ultimate, definitive example of a hardcore porn documentary.

Pretty Filthy boasts a rich color palette, saturated without bleeding to provide an eye-popping image perfect for the high-definition format. Before you get worried, rest assured that this exaggerated visual style is reserved for the intro tease sequences that Elegant Angel is well-known for. This movie never forgets it's a hardcore porno, so you don't have to worry about stylish visual effects or music getting in the way of the action.

"It is [really tight]. Feels so good though!" Mason's off-camera voice plays a larger role here, and it's always endearing to hear how genuinely impressed she is with her performers. There's also a couple bloopers, Ice Cold enjoying some post-coital snacks while Tori recalls Marie's foot on her head, and a sweet introduction to a couple of Tori's closest, dearest friends. You could argue that this is more of a compilation of outtakes, rather than an actual "behind the scenes" documentary. Regardless, it's quite entertaining and, at times, suprisingly touching.

Rounding out the extra features are a 3-minute photo gallery slideshow, the obligatory "Cumshot Recap" montage, and the movie's 11-minute trailer.

FINAL RECOMMENDATION

Buy it. Mason's talent for inspiring her performers to push their limits is unparalleled. Tori Black has never been as brilliant, insatiable, and candid as she is here. Together, they've created what can only be described as a work of art. See it once, and you've only scratched the surface. The confessionals are endlessly charming. Crafting a gonzo title in which none of the scenes ends at the cumshot is refreshing and unique. Even the closing credits are a pleasant surprise, as various outtakes show the lighter side of the production.

Is the Blu-ray worth the premium price difference over the DVD version? In a word, YES. Mason's visuals fully exploit the high-definition like few other adult titles have even come close to. The only thing missing is an option to watch all of the tease intros edited together. Each sequence is an excellent showcase for your HD Theater.

Tori Black is Pretty Filthy delivers on just about every level. It's a creative and artistic triumph, features unflinching hardcore sex, and sets a standard that will not soon be matched.
