The Review

Synopsis:
Vince Vouyer runs a detective agency that, for a price, will find out if your husband is cheating on you and provide you with the proof. Up and coming monogamic detective Skye convinces Vouyer to give her an extra assignment and ends up biting off more than she can swallow.

Video/Audio:
To Catch a Cheat is presented in a full screen, 1.33:1, aspect ratio which appears to be the original aspect ratio for the film. The picture is sharp with grain present. Very few artifacts are found on this print. To Catch a Cheat appears to have originally been filmed on video and not on film.

The only available audio track on To Catch a Cheat is an English 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround track. Don't get excited though, the dialog all appears to be in mono with only the music hitting the back speakers. The dialog is generally easy to hear over the music. No other language tracks and no subtitle options are available.

Chapters/Time Code:
There are nine chapters available for To Catch a Cheat from the menu and the feature itself. They are placed so that relatively easy navigation through the film is possible, but there could have been more of them. There is a time code for this film.

Special Features:
Multiple Angles are available for some of the sex scenes in To Catch a Cheat. For the sections of sex scenes that the multiple angles are available for there are three different angles to choose from. VR Technology means this is another Vivid disc that wastes space with room simulations for navigating the menus. The menus using this system are very hard to navigate and generally waste much time. Meet the Girls consists of a video clip, pictures and text info for the following Vivid girls: Kira Kenner, Kobe Tai, Dasha, Devon, Janine, Taylor Hayes, Raylene, and Racquel Darrian. Available previews are for Body Language, Exquisite Excess, Luna Chick, Oral Obsession, Seven Deadly Sins, and The Awakening. Web Promo is a 1½ minute advert for the Vivid web site. Ride 'Em Cowgirl consists of four sex scenes from unknown Vivid movies. Candy & Mila's Room consists of four more sex scenes from unknown Vivid Movies. Multiple Partners consists of Trio Action, a three-way lesbian scene, Triple Play, a one guy 2 girl scene, 3-Way, a 2 guy 1 girl scene and Synchronized Schwinging, another three-way lesbian scene all from unknown Vivid movies.

As with most of the Vivid discs that I have seen, the special features on the disc have nothing at all to do with the featured film. It's nice that the disc has added sex scenes, but I would have far preferred to have some behind the scenes footage, the preview for the movie on the disc or something that had to do with To Catch a Cheat. The VR Menus are also very hard and slow to navigate, so this feature adds nothing to the disc.

Review:
To Catch a Cheat tries very hard to do many things, unfortunately it succeeds at none of them. To begin with, the film tries to be a thriller however, the weak plot line and poor story don't allow for the viewer to really ever get interested in the story line for the film.

The acting in the film is poor, it seems that most of the time the cast doesn't even try. Many of the cast members aren't even that good looking. Skye, the main star of the film who is in most of the sex scenes, has a horrible boob job that detracts from all the scenes she is in. The sex in the film is very formulaic with only one scene offering a scene that looks different. The scenes also lack any heat, the stars seem to just be going through the motions.

The sets are decent, not much work went into them, but they don't look awful. They serve their purpose as places for people to have sex and only that. The cinematography is rather standard for an adult film. We get only the expected camera shots and nothing here surprises you.

The Money Shot:
To Catch a Cheat is a poorly done feature couples film. If you like any of the stars or are interested in seeing the film, I would recommend renting before purchasing as you probably won't want to see To Catch a Cheat more than once as the story is poorly done, sex is rather average and Skye's boob job looks horrible. Those who dislike plot-based adult entertainment and nasty sex will definitely not like this film.
