Initial Expectations: Smash has had a very nice eye for talent and has put out some fun movies. I'm looking forward to this one.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty well done. The audio balance is pretty average, and the level changed a bit throughout some of the scenes causing me to have to adjust my volume. The video is nicely presented in anamorphic widescreen. It's clear and smooth, but there were a few minor shadows.

Music: None

Menus: The main menu is okay, and gives a few stills of the girls with a little simple animation. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a still of each girl and her name, and the position menu lets you jump directly to specific sex acts such as pussy eating cowgirl, or cumshots.

The Feature

Teen Idol returns, and for its sixth installment it's giving the black man his turn. Each scene has a little opening to set things up and then moves on with plenty of sex.

This is another nice scene. The audio level varies a little early in the scene which annoyed me by having me fool with the remote to keep it at a comfortable level, but Tori and Rico play up the opening nicely. There's pretty good chemistry between them, and although Tori never seems to be able to take all of Rico's cock he does a very nice job never seeming like he's trying to force more on her. Naturally the cream pie finish earned an extra point with me on this one, and as usual with Smash and their cream pie scenes, it looked completely real. This is another hot scene.

This was a dud of a scene that left me not caring much if I see either Kandice or Shorty in the future.

This is an okay scene that left me feeling that others would like it a lot more than I did. CJ, however, was pretty good and quickly made me see why I was hearing quite a bit about him lately. They do look like they're into each other, but with Karisma not quite knowing what she's doing the scene could only get so far. This is a pretty average scene that should please fresh talent fans much more than it did me.

For only being eighteen, Mimi did a very nice job and helps to end Teen Idol 6 on a high note.

Teen Idol 6 is a pretty good release that left me feeling that others will probably like it a lot more than I did. Although I enjoyed the scenes from Mimi, Tori, and especially Ashli, Kandice and Karisma's scene feel short for me due to the girls feeling extremely fresh. I know a lot of people like that completely fresh feeling, but I'd much rather have a woman who knows what she's doing than a girl who's still figuring it out. The editing is good for the most part and the camera work does a good job working with the inexperience of the girls and moved around enough that some of them couldn't stare at it too much. Teen Idol 6 worked okay for me, but is pretty well done and should please fans of fresh talent much more than it did me.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts about eight and a quarter minutes with about five seconds per very nice looking snapshot or full screen photo. The behind the scenes featurette lasts about fourteen minutes. The girls each introduce themselves before going through their bags to find what they're going to wear for the shoot. They also talk about each being a bad girl in high school, pose for stills, and shoot some of their scenes. If that isn't enough, there's also a bit of Mimi in the shower. This is a nice behind the scenes featurette that gives a good mix of personality from the stars with plenty of eye candy.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many Smash releases can be found for between about $16 and $24 with many stores offering them near the lower end. That's a pretty good price for what you get here. The girls often have the fresh talent feeling that many look for in barely legal releases as well as the scenes being nicely captured. The technical aspects are pretty good and there's a bit of effort put into the extras. This is a pretty good release.

Note to Smash Pictures: Although you don't release as many movies as you used to, it's great to see you continue to put such nice effort into your overall DVDs.
