The Little Details

NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. That said, amateur and homemade features have a great charm to them, simple because the people in them are doing what they’re doing to have fun and because they enjoy it. All the things that separate them from studio porn contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review and not just look at the ratings as the ultimate word on this release. Since the technical aspects are normally lacking and there normally isn’t much for extras in amateur features, I’ve weighted my overall rating more heavily towards the sex than I do in most studio porn.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are well done, especially for a homemade movie. The audio has a few background noises and some minor balance problems, but is mostly clear and well done. The video is presented in the full frame format and much the same. There are a few shadows, a little grain, and some minor camera motion, but for a homemade movie it looks very good.

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that stays in the lower right corner. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu keeps Shot at Home’s usual style with their logo and a photo from the movie. The chapter menu is also simple, and lets you choose where to go in the movie based on six clips from the movie.

The Feature

Scene 1 – Tara

Scene 2 - Tara and Code

Tara starts out the next scene reading a smutty book before checking to see if Code's in the same horny mood that she is. She leans forward to help Code out of his jeans and strokes his cock before coaxing him in so they can play with each other a bit. The camera moves to a tripod so he can freely join Tara on the couch, and they kiss and caress each other before going right to Tara riding Code cowgirl style. The chemistry between Tara and Code is as great as ever, and although the scene is almost a half hour long it moves along at a good pace. This is another winner of a scene.

Scene 3 - Tara and Code

Code starts out the third scene watching the traffic from their deck as Tara lets him know that she doesn't think the neighbors are watching and is kind of horny. She gropes his cock through his jeans before dropping down to stroke him while reminding him to not worry about the neighbors or the people walking by on the street. Code apparently can't get past the neighbors as she comments on how he's getting small again, so Tara lays back on the ground and breaks out the handy dandy dildo she had nearby. This is a very fun final scene. Tara stops short of giving Code the “Don't worry, honey, it happens to everybody” line, and nicely works the scene forward with it rather than letting it grind the scene to a complete halt. Yes, it does slow things down a bit, but there's a nice recovery and like virtually everything else about Shot at Home's movies, there's a great feeling of reality to it. This might not be a perfect sexual experience, but once again Tara and Code show that with plenty of chemistry even weaker scenes can work well.

Tara and Code 3 is another very good homemade fuck flick. Although Tara is smoking hot, with his purple hair, piercings, and many tattoos Code leaves a bit to be desired for me in the looks department. At the same time, I love the diversity he brings to the screen as well as the great chemistry he has with his woman. There's a nice variety of action here, and with the length of the scenes and how Tara and Code mix things up you never seem to know what you're going to get in a scene. That mix combined with the chemistry that never quits between Tara and Code helps this release to swim even when others might sink, and left me enjoying it almost as much as their previous movies. Tara and Code 3 slumps slightly compared to the two previous installments, but is still a great homemade porno.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most of Shot at Home's DVDs can be found on their website for around $20. As with Tara and Code's other movies, this one's well worth the money. The action stumbles a little in the final scene, but there's still plenty of chemistry as well as some nice variety to the action. The technical aspects are well done considering the locations the scenes are shot and there's a bit of effort put into the extras as well. This is another hot and fun homemade release.

Note to Shot at Home: I think a lot of companies would have cut the third scene, but it's great that you left it as it is with how great the chemistry was.
