The Little Details

NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. All the things that separate them from studio porn contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review and not just look at the ratings as the ultimate word on this release. Since the technical aspects are normally lacking and there normally isn’t much for extras in amateur features, I’ve weighted my overall rating more heavily towards the sex than I do in most studio porn.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done for a homemade porn release. The audio is clear and well balanced for the most part, but both falter a little here and there in the movie without ever being bad enough to really interfere with the presentation. The video is presented in the full frame format and is much the same. The picture is clear and smooth through much of the movie, but there are a few minor motion problems (when they go handheld), a little grain, and a few lighting imbalances throughout the movie that are just enough to remind you that this isn't a professionally made movie.

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that stays in the lower right corner. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu keeps Shot at Home’s usual style with their logo and a photo from the movie. The chapter menu is also simple, and lets you choose where to go in the movie based on six clips from the movie.

The Feature

The entire scene has a playful and natural feeling, and it moves at a very nice pace. This may be a simple scene, but it also shows just how good simple can be.

This is a great solo scene. I love that you can tell that it takes Tara a little work to get the toy all the way up rather than having it look as easy as making toast. This is a long solo scene, but also one that's well worth the time.

This is another very enjoyable scene. The spanking was a nice twist, and something that I can say I didn't quite expect from them even though Tara and Code have done a great job exploring their sexuality on camera. Tara goes from being a bit unsure to getting into the spanking nicely, and although the scene does have a touch of an edge at the beginning it nicely turns into some rougher play. This scene worked well for me.

Tara starts the final scene coming out of the bathroom wearing some sexy blue lingerie. Not surprisingly, this is another very enjoyable scene. As always, Tara works the tease extremely well and she and Code do a great job exploring their sexuality with the help of the camera. The toy for Code was a definite surprise here, even more so than the heavy spanking in the previous scene, and they both get into it very well. Something like this isn't easy for a guy to do period, let alone on camera, and with the personal feeling of all of Tara and Code's movies I can't help but think that this is even more uncomfortable for him. That said, her enthusiasm had to make it easier and it definitely comes out here. Tara looks to give a great hummer and to love the added thrill of working on his ass, and tops it off with a nice swallow at the end. This is a hot scene that closes off the movie very well.

Tara and Code 11 is another very nice addition to the series. It's definitely not the installment to start with if you're new to the series, as Tara and Code seem to have been exploring their sexuality all along and that means much more than just fucking. This time around the action revolves around tease and masturbation more than intercourse, and the exploration is a bit heavier with spanking and male anal stimulation. For that reason I think this release is much more for fans of Tara and Code than newcomers, as they have a much better idea of what Tara and Code are about and doing as those coming in to just discover them new. That exploration is quite fun here, especially Tara working her anal toy all the way in, but I don't think anybody expects an hour and a quarter homemade movie by a couple to only have maybe fifteen minutes of fucking in it. Being a fan of Tara and Code that's definitely not a complaint from me, but more a warning for others who want a lot of fucking in their movies. Tara and Code 11 is a nicely done release, but also one that might not quite provide what a lot of viewers are looking for.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most of Shot at Home's DVDs can be found on their website for around $20. As usual with Shot at Home, this one's worth the money. Tara does a great job working the tease here with two solo scenes, a tease heavy oral scene, and only one scene with intercourse, but with her enthusiasm and beauty it's hard to get down on the movie. The technical aspects are well done for a homemade amateur release, but unlike most other Shot at Home releases there's no preview reel to help out with the extras. This is a hot homemade release with Tara and Code once again mixing things up nicely.

Note to Shot at Home: It's too bad that this is going to be one of the last Tara and Code releases, but thank you for letting fans of their series know on your site.
