NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty average for a homemade release. The audio is normally well balanced, but there are some areas where the balance falters as well as a fair amount of background noises. The video is presented in the full frame format and looks pretty good for a homemade release. There's a little grain and some camera motion, but the lighting is nicely done throughout the movie and there isn't anything that doesn't feel out of place for a homemade movie.

Watermark Warning: Although the normally don’t bother me much, there is a small and tasteful watermark warning that stays in the lower right corner. This made it very easy to filter out for me, and quite honestly, I didn’t notice it unless I thought about it.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu keeps Shot at Home’s usual style with their logo and a photo from the movie. The chapter menu is also simple, and lets you choose where to go in the movie based on six clips from the movie.

The Feature

Tara and Code 1 is easily one of the best homemade porno debuts I've seen. Tara has a killer body and a cute face, and there's no doubt how much she and Code are into each other. They do a great job mixing up the action here, and I especially love the masturbation tease scene that Tara opens the movie with for its uniqueness and how well Tara wields her sexuality in it. Yes, you do have some of the camera shake and background noise that are typical with homemade porn movies, but they never get out of control and for a lot of people with homemade movies, are part of the charm. That said, there's no shortage of charm anywhere in Tara and Code 1. The sex is very passionate and the people are likable. There's a constant sense of fun to the action, and it never seems to be anything but natural. Tara and Code 1 is a fantastic homemade porn debut that I can't help but highly recommend.

Currently, most of Shot at Home's DVDs can be found on their website for around $20. This one's well worth the money. The technical aspects are pretty average for amateur porn, with a bit of motion and background noise, but there is a little effort put into the extras with Shot at Home's standard preview reel. This is a great homemade porno that deserves to be checked out.
