On the tube: "City of God", man have I put off watching this for too long. I had no idea this movie was so gangsta. The only problem is that since it‘s been showing on cable I‘ve been under the weather so Nyquil tends to put me down before I can finish it. I‘ve watched it three times already and STILL have not seen the end.

Mainstream Flick in the DVD Player: "Batman: The Animated Series Volume Two", Sue me but this cartoon was revolutionary back when I was in high school. As nerdy as it sounds, I used to actually be a half an hour late EVERY day for my after school job because I‘d watch Batman: TAS first.

In the CD Player/Winamp: 112, "U Already Know"; Mariah Carey, “It‘s Like That“ and Jennifer Lopez feat. Fat Joe, “Hold You Down.” A triple dose of that heat for everyone who pays attention to this part of the review.



What You Should Know:
This interracial extravaganza marks the Hustler directorial debut of one of my favorite directors, Van Styles. He may have left Video Team for what he perceives to be greener pastures but his core interests remain the same: do-it-all performers (preferably latina or woman with expansive backsides) who don‘t mind doing all the nastiest things with the brothers. I can respect that, being a black dude who really likes latinas and phat asses myself. Taking his very same sensibilities to Hustler, what was once Azz Fest has become the soon-to-be-released Ass Appeal and the precursor to this new interracial venture would no doubt be his former I Like It Black (and Deep In My Ass). And anyone who has seen the what-I-consider-to-be legendary trysts between Rayveness and Sean Michaels in Part IV and Sean and Ashley Long in Part V knows that Van Styles is no stranger to filming an exceptional interracial scene. Every time I see this cat, I almost feel sorry for the girls who have to work with him. What I Liked:
In addition to the normal chapter select option, Hustler includes a separate “Select a Star“ menu. From that menu, which features glamorous stills of each girl, you choose your lady and are then taken to another menu that breaks down each individual scene even further by sex act (i.e. intro, blowjob, sex, anal, cumshot). This makes an already stellar overall DVD even more spectacular rivaling even what I used to consider the best DVDs in the game, New Sensations.

What I Disliked:
I wish I could think of at least one thing to put here but for the life of me, I can‘t.

Overall:
In past reviews, I‘ve been super-hard on male black performers. A lot of them bring no more to the table than a big dick and nothing else. Fortunately for Van Styles, he didn‘t employ any of those lesser performers and guys with wood problems for his first interracial release with Hustler. Before today, I would have said that my favorite interracial lines were Lethal-Hardcore‘s clumsily titled “Big Black Beef Stretches Little Pink Meat“ and Jules Jordan‘s “Once You Go Black.“ That was before today. I‘ve spoken before about the 24-year-old Van Styles‘ prodigious progress but never has it been more evident than in this release. You will see a distinct difference between this and the work he was able to accomplish for Video Team. You can almost feel a newfound enthusiasm emanating from behind the camera. Making his home at Hustler, I think Styles will find (if he hasn’t already found) this a mutually beneficial relationship that will see him continue to grow, learn and flourish as a director with more resources at his disposal that will only serve him in putting out a better product. Hustler will soon see that they have a literal cash cow on their hands with Styles in the fold. Gia Paloma sums it up best with her statement that closes the Behind the Scenes: “God bless you, Van Styles.” If interracial action is your thing, I can without hyperbole, say that you will not find a better movie in this genre.
