Sweet Sounds Review

“Sweet Sounds” is a bit off key and hits some sour notes. This is a couples-only flick from director Nicholas Steele that features cute Aussie Monica Mayhem as an aspiring nightclub singer. As a singer, Monica makes a good porn actress. The script for this movie could not have been more than two pages long.

Every hackneyed porn cliché is used here, including long, lingering shots of the guys’ faces as they get blowjobs and during cumshots, cameras catching the action from behind the performers’ heads, and a terrible soundtrack. Considering the terrific-looking cast, this could have been a great flick. Instead it is run-of-the-mill.

Jesse V. is a cute dirty blonde. She hooks up with Cheyne Collins in a kitchen scene with only two position changes and a butt cumshot.

Monica is auditioning in a nightclub, singing a ballad and wearing a revealing white outfit. Record agent Cheyne is in the audience. Afterward, she and her friend/confidant Layla-Jade do a girl/girl in a bathroom, an uninspired romp that includes some toy action. These are two great-looking blondes, but the action is cold and by-the-numbers.

Sophie Evans gets double-teamed in a bed by Tony Ribas and Steven St. Croix. Sophie is a brunette here, although she’s gone blond in other movies. This scene really has nothing to do with the plot. It is filler, and the performers seem to know this as they go through a few standard positions with no emotion. Maybe they were listening to the same boring jazz music we have to endure here. There is no DP and no facial.

Brunette Felix Vicious takes on club owner Joey Ray next in a scene that is half-shot through some louvered windows from an adjoining room. Very distracting! This is a perfect example of bad camera angles. Here we have a semi-attractive girl sucking a guy’s cock, and the camera lingers for 20 seconds on his face. Stupid! After a couple position changes, Joey comes on her tummy to end a forgettable scene.

Layla-Jade takes on her hubby/boyfriend John West on a couch at home. They go through a two-position fuck ending in a nice facial.

Monica is auditioning again at the club wearing the same outfit and singing the same song. Cheyne offers her a contract and they celebrate with a rooftop tryst. It ends with an open-mouthed facial and Monica giving some nice post-cum head.

The DVD features include Trailers, Behind the Scenes, Photo Gallery, and Website info. There are two Bonus Scenes. The first is Jenna Haze and Chris Cannon from “Unforgettable.” The second features Julie Meadows and Dale DaBone from “Devoured.” These are actually the best sex scenes on this DVD, which tells you all you need to know about “Sweet Sounds.”
