The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty weak. The audio is very inconsistent with a fair amount of background hiss. There are many areas where you can barely hear the performers and I had to adjust my volume several times watching the movie. The video is presented in the full frame format and isn't a lot better. The lighting is a bit inconsistent but normally very low, the editing is choppy, and there's a bit of camera motion. The technical aspects definitely held back this release.

Music: The music varies in balance, often coming off a bit loud, and always has a very generic porno feeling to it.

Disc Complaints: You are forced to watch or scan through several commercials before getting to the main menu. This always annoys me, and I'm deducting a half point from the overall score because of it. The movie is also split into two separate titles on the DVD, so once you get past the first thirty three minutes in the movie you can't scan back to check anything out before it without going through the main menu. This was always annoying on early Sin City DVDs, and I'm thrilled that this style of authoring has almost completely gone the way of the dodo.

False Advertising: Although Pat Myne is listed on the cover and in the opening and closing credits, he never appears in the movie. I'm deducting another half point for this false advertising.

Menus: The main menu is very generic, and looks like a basic chapter menu with the choices in each box over a background still. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a scene number. Neither are at all impressive.

The Feature

Sweet lil' 18 7 collects five unrelated sex scenes with a barely legal theme. Each scene starts out with a little story to open it before quickly getting to the action.

As sleazeball Jay drives down the street in his van he sees bottle blonde Dominica by the side of the road and picks her up. Apparently Dominica is new to the country, and as Jay talks about all the great things they have in the area she leans over, pulls out his cock, and goes to work sucking it. The action moves to the back of the van where she continues to suck and stroke him as well as sixty-nining him. The action cuts to them fucking reverse cowgirl and missionary style before Jay taps her ass doggie style. This is an okay scene. I really like Dominica's eagerness to get to the scene, and she has pretty good chemistry with Jay through it all. She does a nice job giving up the ass, but the scene is held back a bit due to the technical aspects being weak with poor audio, inconsistent lighting, and choppy editing. This isn't a bad scene, but it could have been a lot better with a little better care behind the camera.

After Cheyne tries to make things romantic with some candles and champagne, cute brunette Nature lets him know that she's not old enough to drink and puts off his wandering hands. Once the porno music starts, however, the action cuts to her sucking and stroking his cock as she sits on the edge of the bed. This is a pretty good scene. Nature is cute with a very nice natural body. She puts out very good energy and vocals, but once again the scene is held back a bit by poor care behind the camera and some choppy editing. This scene hovers around the average mark.

This is a pretty good scene. Julianna and Jay have very nice chemistry right from the start and keep things moving at a nice pace. I love Julianna's spirit through the scene and they both put out some very nice energy. This is a hot and fun scene, and the technical aspects seem slightly better as well.

Bottle blonde Ashley tries out her cheerleader routine as coach Tyce walks in and lets her know how he used to coach cheerleading. Soon after they're kissing and she's dropping down to suck his cock. Sweet lil' 18 7: Brittany Gets Speared is an okay fuck flick. I will give Ladd credit as he tries to make the setups fun and light and the girls play into the barely legal roles well. There's also nice chemistry in several of the scenes and the action moves pretty well. At the same time, the editing is very rough with the camera angles and lighting frequently leaving a bit to be desired. I did really enjoy Ashley Sage and Jesse V.'s scenes, but even those felt like they could have been better with a little more care behind the camera. It's bigger problem is that it's title implies that there's going to be some Brittany Spears spoofing going on, and nothing like that ever happens. Sweet lil' 18 7: Brittany Gets Speared isn't a bad movie, and should please barely legal fans, but don't go in with much for expectations.

Currently, many of Sin City's older DVDs can be found online for under $5. This isn't a bad price for what you get here. The movie's okay and often held back by lackluster camera work, editing, and technical aspects. The authoring leaves a bit to be desired on the DVD and there's also no real care put into the extras. Aim low here.

Note to Sin City: I'm glad your DVD quality has come up from when you started with releases like this.
