Sunny Day Review

This film, which is set in Basel, Switzerland, opens with rain splashing onto the city streets. Leonardo, a young beauty is strolling through the streets carrying an umbrella with the logo “Sunnyday”. As he passes a street-level skylight that looks down into a health spa below, his attention is caught by something. Two hunks with very long uncut dicks are making out on a sofa. They are Balasz S. and Dominik. Balasz is young prime beef; Dominik is a hung stallion. Unfortunately we see little of the action because the voyeur leaves the window taking us with him. Fortunately he decides to enter the health spa in the hope of catching up with these two hunks. Like him we can hardly wait...or, uh, wait hardly.

When Leonardo strips at the locker we are awed by his well-defined musculature and his long uncut cock. Why do I always get an inferiority complex watching these films? Detlef, a more mature and unequal specimen who is pale in contrast to Leonardo’s bronzed bod, is showering when Leonardo enters. Theirs is our first completed sex scene with Leonardo eventually topping his older companion.

In the following scene the two hunks we spied through the skylight have moved into the sauna. Once again the scene’s potential is mitigated by the inclusion of a less than stunning person. The third character is Mighel, a prematurely bald young man with a pasty white body. The scene would have been hotter just between the two beauties, but there’s Mighel. All suck one another before Balasz fucks Dominik who is fucking Mighel. This lasts much too briefly and so doesn’t really justify Mighel's inclusion.

Two really mature guys comprise the third scene as Dale Rhodes gets a massage from “guest star” Christian Fleur des Lys a tall black actor. With both guys of a certain age and both speaking English it as though this scene was inserted from another film. Only the setting reminds us we are still in a Basel Health Club. (This has to be the cleanest bathhouse in the world. Floors, walls, and ceilings are all sparkling and spotless. One could eat off these floors. I had visions of little German Swiss ladies down on their knees cleaning the floors with toothbrushes.) Once Dale is aroused, he and Christian move into the exercise room for the kind of exercise that makes me consider joining a health club. Naturally Christian uses his club to give Dale an interior massage.

Mighel is still hanging out in the sauna. His victim this time is an adorable blond Johnny Weiss that also appears along with Dominik in the studio’s WHITE PEAKS. It is really a pity that a young beauty like Johnny couldn’t have a more attractive partner. They move the action from the sauna to the shower where Johnny bottoms for old baldy.

Haller gets very ‘arty” for the beginning of the next scene that takes place in a steam room with Christian, Dale, Detlef, and Tim Vincent (another young cutie). Leonardo is also in the room but is odd man out. Everything is seen through a heavy blue light. Erotic, ja! Pornographic, nein. Thankfully the guys move out into the light and form two pairs.

Balasz and Dominik pass through the group on their way to the Jacuzzi. Leonardo comes from the steam room and joins them. He has finally found them and the three now engage in a very good scene, which sends their loads of cum into the warm swirling water.

Leonardo exits from the health club with his umbrella and a happy smile. Even though it is raining, he has made his own sunny day.

SUNNY DAY is one of the Ikarus Productions that are released by YMAC. These films set in Switzerland, Greece, and other non-typical sites feature beautiful young hunks in uninhibited sex. This film is somewhat unusual for this company and for director Conny Haller in that it has some more mature studs and some not-to-attractive ones. For this reason, it is not up to his better films. This is obviously an early film from this company made before they latched on to their winning formula. Nevertheless, a minor Ikarus film is still head and shoulders above much of what we are offered these days from the better-known studios. An interesting credit: gorgeous porn star Pavel Dubcek was the cameraman. If only he and Mighel had changed places!
