STR8-A-Head Review

SATR8-A-HEAD is a pretty darn good film. The plot centers around the character of Ty (Nick Steel) who has become a famous Hollywood actor and decides to have a reunion of his high school buddies--none of whom know he is gay. Well, maybe except for Cade (Alex Wilcox) who once did it with our hero five years ago. Cade doesn’t want to go to the reunion, but is driven there by urgings beyond his control. Ty has hired a Palm Springs clothing-optional resort for this reunion with pool, Jacuzzi, etc. so there’s a lot of cavorting outdoors in the California sun. The other two schoolmates invited to this fete are Jason (Haven Phillips) who has joined the marines, and Hans Ebson (who must have been a German exchange student). Happily, Ty brings along a Hollywood “friend” with him, the adorable Chip Noll. It would appear that GAY-A-HEAD would be the more appropriate title, as Ty comes out to his marine buddy Jason and seduces him; the irresistible Chip seduces Hans; and Alex decides he would rather be gay with Ty than straight with his employers.

Although these three scenes are the only ones integral to the plot, porn-star/director Seth Black has generously given us two additional scenes: a BAREBACK SCENE with real-life lovers Javier Fuentes and muscular Tony Ganz which has Javier topping his bigger partner, and also a nude wrestling scene with lots of spanking featuring Ren Adams and a hefty-to-fat blond.

Nick Steel is a sweet guy and conveys a likeable personality. Alex Wilcox is the sexy All-American hunk we wish lived next door. Haven Phillips could be invited home for a sleepover and your parents would never suspect. Chip Noll is a little blond devil that could seduce anyone. (And he certainly knows what to do with Hans’ foreskin!)

There are many great extras, too: an interview with Nick, deleted scenes, star shots, bios, and “backstage” scenes with the guys just enjoying themselves cavorting in the pool, sunbathing in the nude, etc.

The only drawback is that it is a DVD-ROM which means it is designed for your computer and will not play on all DVD players. (It played on the Sony in my living room, but not—alas!—on the GE in my bedroom.) You should check your manual to see if your player is adaptable. That said, it’s a very fun film!
