Still In High School: The Lost Footage Review

NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. That said, amateur and homemade features have a great charm to them, simple because the people in them are doing what they’re doing to have fun and because they enjoy it. All the things that separate them from studio porn contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review and not just look at the ratings as the ultimate word on this release. Since the technical aspects are normally lacking and there normally isn’t much for extras in amateur features, I’ve weighted my overall rating more heavily towards the sex than I do in most studio porn.

The Short Story

Initial Expectations: I’ve really liked most of what I’ve seen from Pixie’s Emporium and Mandi, and although they’re far from perfect I still look forward to every one of their releases.

Initial Reaction: It’s an excellent second feature for Mandi and a very enjoyable feature period.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting fresh talent and emotions that feel real

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting nastier sex or top notch technical aspects and camera work

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is pretty clear but the balance leaves a bit to be desired at times. There’s also a bit of crackling at times which interferes slightly. The video is pretty good, especially for an amateur feature. There’s a little grain, but it’s very nicely lit. There’s a few minor problems, such as a bit of camera shake and seeing the cameraman in the mirrors, but nothing really interferes with things too much.

Music: There’s a little dance music in the background for a little of the movie. It adds a little, but not much.

Disc Complaint: There’s a watermark in the lower right corner of the screen. I mention it here because I know that a lot of people really hate watermarks. On the plus side, it’s clear and it stays there consistently throughout the feature so that you can put it out of your mind fairly easily.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. Neither the chapter menu nor the main menu are animated, but they still look nice. The main menu presents the choices in a pleasing way which fits the feature very well. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a title for the scene.

The Feature

Still In High School: The Lost Footage continues where Still In High School: Who Needs a Boyfriend left off. That’s right, this is super-cutie Mandi’s second movie. For those unfamiliar with Mandi, she’s a cute little brunette with a great real body and who doesn’t seem to be afraid to show a little personality as she’s getting a little action. She and her partner, Alex, are only eighteen years old and are still seniors in high school. That’s about as close as you come to a plot here, and that’s just fine!

Scene 1 - Mandi and Alex

Mandi starts things out drawing a bath. No, as far as I know she isn’t an artist, but she has plenty of other talents and she’s going to show them off in the tub this time. She washes up with a bar of soap, making sure she’s clean so that she can get dirty, and plays around with it a little in the tub with the jets on. Afterwards she gets out and joins Alex on the bed. They lightly play with each other before getting back into the tub. Mandi gives Alex a blowjob before he slips it to her in the tub. They head back to the bed so that Mandi can get a little oral attention. Alex moves on to give it to Mandi missionary and doggie style before pulling out and spraying down her back.

This is a very nice opening scene. I like how things work between the tub and the bed, and as usual Mandi’s enthusiasm comes across very well. She has a great presence in front of the camera, and comes across very naturally. Alex didn’t do a lot for me, but at the same time he had great chemistry with Mandi and also looks like a very average guy. They really make the scene work and should please plenty of people.

Scene 2 - Mandi and Alex

Mandi and Alex head back to the jacuzzi tub for the second scene. They play around lightly and exchange oral favors, starting with a blowjob from Mandi, before they continue the oral antics on the bed. Mandi starts out the fucking by climbing onto Alex for a bit of cowgirl before he lays back to give it to her missionary style. He finally pulls out to pop on her stomach and lets her suck out the last few drops before she climbs on for a little more pleasure.

This is a great scene. Yes, the camera angles sometimes leave a bit to be desired, but Mandi and Alex’s playfulness take the scene far beyond the minor problems with the camera angles. There’s very nice energy and plenty of real smiles which really made me like this scene. I also like Mandi’s handling of the pop and her climbing back on for a little more afterwards rather than having the scene end at the pop.

Scene 3 - Mandi and Alex

Mandi and Alex decide to get cleaned up a bit for the next scene. They start things out lathering each other up in the shower while working in plenty of kissing and naughty touching. They don’t get it on too much here, and never really get past the oral stage.

This is a decent little scene. It never gets past the oral aspect, but the chemistry and playfulness end up making it a great break between scenes.

Scene 4 - Mandi and Alex

Mandi and Alex get busy on the couch next. Of course they start out with a little play before they strip down while warming each other up. Alex climbs on Mandi for a little ride before they go back to playing orally. Mandi lets Alex take her from behind as they continue to work on each other orally and through the usual positions. Finally, Alex pulls out and pops on Mandi’s stomach.

This is a pretty good scene, but for some reason didn’t work as well for me as the others. Perhaps it’s because the technical aspects weren’t as good as in the other scenes. Perhaps it’s because I’ve seen them together in too many scenes in a row. Perhaps it’s because the scene seemed to drag a little for me due to all of the oral in the mix. Perhaps it’s a combination of all of the above. Regardless, I had a hard time getting into this scene.

Scene 5 - Mandi and Alex

Mandi and Alex decide to get wet one last time, this time heading for a hot tub. While Mandi stretches out in the tub Alex grabs a vibe to work on her with gently. He fucks her with the vibe while tonguing her, and after a bit, lets his cock do the work. Alex takes care of Mandi both with a little missionary in the tub and a little doggie over the edge. They mix in a bit more oral before things end with Mandi appearing to have a nice orgasm while Alex keeps pumping away in her.

Despite not having a pop for Alex, this is a nice scene to end things with. You have all the playfulness and chemistry of the other scenes plus a bit of variety here. I love the addition of toys in couples scenes, and it added to this scene very well. I also like the change of location with sex in a hot tub, which I think plenty of couples fantasize about. This is scene brings things to a very nice close.

Still In High School: The Lost Footage is a great amateur feature. Once again Mandi delivers, and although it’s only the second feature for her and Alex they show some great progress. They’re both very at ease in front of the camera this time, and the playfulness between them flows freely the entire feature. There’s plenty of smiling from both of them as the feature goes on and there wasn’t a single time it felt like it was forced. As nice as they are here together, they also became my biggest problem with the feature. Mandi is great to watch, but I would have loved to have seen a little less of Alex. Yeah, another guy or a girl for Mandi would have been great, but a full-on solo scene would have been just as good. It would have broken things up a bit, especially since I think there’s only three positions in the entire movie, and the variety would have helped out the overall feature. Mandi shows a great ease in front of the camera, as well as a love of being there, and I think she would have played into a solo scene extremely well. That said, I still found Still In High School: The Lost Footage an enjoyable feature that I’d recommend to anybody curious about Pixie’s Emporium, Mandi, or amateur porn with younger girls.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts about two and a half minutes with about three seconds per decent looking full screen photo. There’s also a nicely done commercial for Pixie’s with Mandi.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many DVDs from Pixie’s Emporium can be found online for around $13. This one’s well worth the money. There’s not a lot of extras and the technical aspects vary a little, but the chemistry and obvious love of sex make this one a definite winner.

Note to Pixie’s Emporium: It was great to see a bit of credits at the start here. It’s really great to see your DVDs slowly developing and improving.
