Spice It Up (Vivid) Review

Review:
“Spice it Up” is an above-average production from Vivid that features blonde, large-breasted contract girl, Hanna Hilton, along with three other actresses—Holly West, Holly Fox, and Carrie Ann. The general theme driving this work is that men—in attempting to “spice it up” in their relationships—put their female partners through various indignations and really show what pigs they are. Of the five scenes presented here, Hanna has two, with one being a good-but-not-great encounter with Rocco Reed (Scene Two) and the other being an excellent, disc-saving romp with James Deen (Scene Five). In the former, Hanna is looking good in the variety of outfits that she employs and also in general, but—for whatever reason—the action just comes off as a little bit flat. The reverse-cowgirl and doggie-style work are really the highlights of this sequence, and it closes out with a pop-shot to Hanna’s back, pussy, and ass—followed up by some oral cock clean-off. I guess that Hanna must have been having an off-day for this first segment of hers, as the latter scene—with James Deen—is quite a different story. In her disc-closing fucking with James in his auto-garage, the action is anything but flat. There is a tremendous amount of chemistry between the two performers, and everything is super-hot. Multiple vaginal positions are employed, including one of the standing face-to-face variety, and the session essentially ends with a pop all over Hanna’s face—capped off with some ensuing oral cock clean-off. This segment is absolutely smoking and really saves the overall production.

The other three actresses have one scene apiece, and these sequences range from okay to good. In all fairness, there really isn’t anything extraordinary in these. In Scene One, Holly West and Justice Young do some nice vaginal and anal work—which includes some gaping—and the cum-shot is delivered to her pussy, followed up by a cummy reinsertion and further fucking. Regardless, there are some chemistry issues that keep this good segment from reaching its full potential. Likewise, Holly Fox and Joey Brass put forth a solid vaginal and anal fucking in a laundromat that includes some ass-to-mouth action and a poorly-captured (authentic?) pop-shot on Holly’s ass (Scene Three). The setup to this sequence is pretty good and ends comically, with Holly’s boyfriend sending her into the laundromat to seduce the unsuspecting Joey—and, of course, the antics that ensue. Still, the segment fails to fully deliver the heat—other than the anal work—and the loss of a decent pop-shot really hurts, as well. Scene Four is the one that really doesn’t work out well and kind of drags along. It involves Carrie Ann and Rocco Reed in a vaginal-only encounter and finishes off with a money-shot to Carrie’s pussy, followed by a cummy reinsertion and oral cock clean-off. Overall, this one just doesn’t hit the mark and is a very average sequence.

Some other items are also worth a mention. The advertisements still play when the disc is inserted, but they can be skipped by hitting the “Menu” button on the remote. Also still present is the relatively unobtrusive watermark in the lower portion of the screen. These two items are fairly standard fare for a Vivid release, and neither one is really annoying.

In terms of bonus materials and other options, there are “Play Feature”, “Scene Selection”—which is as its name implies, and “Special Features” options in the Main Menu. Under this last item, one finds a “Behind the Scenes” segment—which is fun but way too short (~5 min.)—and a “Previews” option—which gives a choice of four, related trailers. There is also a “Vivid Extras” section—which plays through various advertisements for Vivid-related products—and a “Photo Gallery”—which puts forth a slideshow of “pretty-girl” shots and stills from the production. Additionally, there is a “Bonus Scene” featuring a boy-girl romp involving Hanna Hilton that is presented in a high-quality format (from the movie, “Bounce”).

All in all, “Spice it Up” is a decent movie with one really excellent scene and four scenes that are predominantly good. If you are looking for a single, incredible Hanna Hilton sequence, and you don’t care about the rest of the disc, this is likely a purchase. Otherwise, it would be best to stick to a test rental first.
