The Sodomania franchise extends to orgy videos - a notoriously difficult genre to succeed in, but with some attractive Czech talent, none more so than the sensational Krystal De Boor, in the cast, this should have a better than even chance.

Events in Sodomania Orgies 5 take place over two hours or so, divided into two orgy scenarios.

Backyard BBQ
The first scene opens with slim brunette Julia (who reminds me of Reapley, except Julia's braided hair is her own, not a wig!), pale, cute blonde Nicky (looks like Sandra Russo's little sister) and pretty brunette Renata sunbathing in a terraced garden. Renata has the most womanly body of the three lissom ladies here, though Nicky is arguably the pick of the bunch - it's a delight to watch her lovely boobs as she rides on top, or watch her being fucked as she strokes a big prick with a tiny hand. She isn't the most demonstrative performer anyway, but she makes more noise than I expected.

But I am getting ahead of myself. For that to happen, four guys, including Kevin Long and George (Jiri) Uhl, turn up and chat up the girls, rubbing sun cream onto soft-skinned slender bodies. Soon the men are groping the girls' boobs, helping them out of what little they were wearing, and starting the sex with some pussy eating The girls respond with reciprocal fellatio, before beginning to fuck. Renata initially handles two guys at once, sucking one while being screwed.

What you see here is a gradual change of partners and positions, rather than the frantic orgy the box cover attempts to suggest - uninhibited fucking with partners and positions changed at the whim of unbearably horny people is something that just is not on the menu. The energy levels do improve as time goes on, there is some good physical sex - more from the guys' side than the girls - but unfortunately the languid pace in the hot sun takes a long time to really pick up. Anal sex takes around 50 minutes to arrive, and even then there's not much of it, nor is it much appreciated by the toiling Nicky. Julia is double penetrated for some time before the come shots - a mixture of facials and body shots. All in all, it's a great exhibition of sexual athleticism but is it really sexy? I am not so sure. There's little suggestion that these people are doing it for any other reason than being filmed for a porn movie.

At least two cameras are used so there's a little more variety, but it doesn't quite come together for me. I am sure they all had a great time screwing and enjoying each other's bodies, but they mainly fail to transmit this to the camera. There are lots of explicit views of the old "in-out" but the human element is largely lacking. The biggest single issue with this scene, however, is that the picture is also quite horrible for much of the time - the bright sun on the whitewashed walls causes a lot of over-exposure problems and it is not easy to look at.

Clam Bake
Krystal De Boor, tall, voluptuous and gorgeous as always, leads her three friends, all blondes dressed in little party frocks, to a private nightclub where the girls are entertained by, and pair off with, some male strippers. Female viewers will be disappointed by the miserable showing from the chaps, as the guys come out one by one, whip their kit off and are chosen by the girls. At least this set-up gives a vague reason for the orgy - party girls on a wild night out - even if it is quite feeble!

By the time Krystal has teamed up with Kevin, current Czech favourite, Stacy Silver, already has a cock in her mouth. She doesn't actually look as good as usual here, but all the girls, including cute Carol (overly made-up) and voluptuous Saskia, are a little curvier in this scene and there are lots of long legs and scrumptious boobs to admire as the initial rounds of cock sucking and pussy eating (guys on girls) turn into more couples-based sex - again, this is more about a group of couples having admittedly quite hot sex in a room together, rather than a full-blown, free flowing orgy. The energy is good from the off and by the end we're looking at a convincing picture of debauchery, but if truth be told there's a lack of spontaneity - where's the wild partner swapping or extravagant combinations? It's so funny when everyone changes partner at once, like a game of musical chairs.

There are some fine shots, but perhaps it's all too much from a male perspective. Faces are too often cropped out of frame in order to focus on thrusting genitals. We need to see more reaction here, but the aimless direction deprives the viewer of any scope for getting into the individual girls here (save for a typically attention-grabbing show from Krystal), and there's some odd decision making. The camera pans away from Krystal being pounded to apparent orgasm to a shot of…nothing in particular.

Anyway, it all gets very hot and sweaty, and I did get some of what I am looking for, stuff like Krystal riding on top, big boobs swinging. She's so hot - what an energy she has. She's a deeply sexy, sensual woman and a wholehearted performer ideally suited, or so you'd think, to this kind of production, but even she isn't best served by an enjoyable but ultimately frustrating (as seems too often to be the way of these things) scene. You do get the impression that you are missing something good.

Anal comes around eventually for Stacy, and all of a sudden Krystal is being DP'd…in the background. There's some great, deep doggy anal for Krystal - her typically extravagant reactions are delightful - as well as some naughty ass-to-pussy stuff for her and Stacy too. As I admire Saskia on top, shaking her long blonde hair, or Carol wriggling her hips, and moaning deliciously, and finally come shots fired over panting faces and sweat-soaked bodies, I can't deny there's a modicum of good material here. It's just a shame that director Alex Ladd doesn't get the most out of a promising cast. Not by a long way.

Overall
My general impression is that it's hard to shoot an orgy movie to everyone's satisfaction, so that has to be taken into account. But I just thought this was a disappointing effort, resolutely low budget, lacking in direction, and desperately in need of some real devilment to alleviate the rather one-dimensional sex. Full marks for physical effort, therefore, but Sodomania Orgies 5 is high on perspiration, short on erotic inspiration, and both fans of harder sex and the ranks of admirers of the lovely girls in the cast will be frustrated.

Sodomania? There's barely enough sodomy to merit the title! The lack of the kind of really nasty sex that's currently in vogue (no ass-to-mouth, no deep-throating, no gaping anuses, no rimming, very little anal or DP - not even any girl-girl contact worthy of the name) may well suit some viewers, but in the absence of any real creativity or invention, Sodomania 5 is dreadfully lacking diversity. It's certainly not the freewheeling love-in that the subtitle of "The Feeding Frenzy edition" attempts to portray!

Technically, the camerawork is okay, but really needs to get up close and personal a good deal more than it does. The cameras are too much on the outside, remotely pointing into the action, yet somehow they still manage to get into the "disconnected body parts" trap - not enough sense that these are passionate people involved in debauched, unconstrained sex. Not that I really wanted to see men stripping, but the fact that the guys strip routines (such as they are) are shot with backs to camera is indicative of the sort of direction involved. The exposure issues on the first scene result in washed-out colour and difficult viewing. The second scene is better, and is reasonably well lit, but the editing is none too logical.

DVD Comments
This is the first Elegant Angel DVD I have seen, and it didn't make a favourable impression. Apart from the picture quality issues I already mentioned, it looks like there's way too much compression on the picture during the feature, the extras (photos and an extra scene) have absolutely nothing to do with the movie and are of very dubious value. The menus and chapter options are reasonably well done, but overall, in technical terms, this is far from being the most polished product on the market.

The extra scene starts off with some self-indulgent crap that doesn't merit a mention - I suppose this is meant to be funny - and then proceeds with a scene featuring Alberto Rey and a brunette who I recognised but can't name. It starts off lovey-dovey and ends, with the assistance of another fellow, in DP and facials.
