Slumber Party 8 (Digital Sin) Review

The keyword to Shane’s Slumber Party 8 is fun. Lots of it. The seven girls go on a road trip/slumber party adventure and enjoy themselves and each other immensely along the way. As did I ... well I enjoyed watching at any rate. Shane has a candid, light and entertaining direction style and just films the girls doing what they want. Fortunately that includes a lot of entertaining moments, a lot of naked moments and a fair bit of sex to boot.

Seeing the girls having fun and being themselves is definitely the strength of this movie; they also seem genuinely pleased to be with each other. There’s plenty of titillation, pranking and nude fooling around. In fact, the DVD itself jumps out of the box and squirts you with a Super Soaker then runs off giggling. OK I lie, but you get the point. It’s a hell of a set-up that gets the blood flowing south of the brain in large quantities.

When it came to the sex itself, Slumber Party 8 disappointed a number of my personal preferences in girl/girl scenes. I was hoping to see a lot of intimate kissing and caressing, and an absence of toys. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much of the former and quite a lot of the latter (although the usage of toys was acceptable). Though compared to a lot of lesbian series out there, the sex in Slumber Party 8 was very good. It also fit the style and feel of the movie appropriately.

Extras include audio commentary, some previews, a squirting mini-feature (with not a lot of squirting), bonus masturbation scenes, a photo gallery and cast bios. The best extra is the lost footage – 20 minutes cut from the movie, including more candid moments, antics and Cassidey’s first orgasm.

Alana Evans
Alana is an average blonde with a decent body. Most of her personality comes through when she chats with Cassidey in the van (this is mainly in the lost footage). She has a scene with Cassidey early in the movie and with Jeanie at the end of the movie.

Bobbie (Cassidey/Paizley Adams)
Cassidey, or Bobbie as she’s called here, basically steals the show. She’s the loudest and most outgoing of the girls with a good sense of humour and hyperactive energy. I think she looks better in later films but she’s still sort of cute here. Apart from her scene with Alana, she gets the most general on-screen time and has a long scene with Jeannie and Leanni at the end of the movie. The whole scene also constitutes just under half of the lost footage.

Eva
Eva is a dark-haired European girl with a good body. She and Salena have a fairly long scene in the middle of the movie, in which she squirts a few times. She also features in the lost footage with Alana and Cassidey but isn’t really prominent otherwise.

Halli Aston
Halli is a hot redhead with nice implants and a great smile. Unfortunately, she seems rather quiet and doesn’t get a whole lot of screen-time in Slumber Party 8. She has a decent scene with Leanni but doesn't really get a lot of attention in the movie.

Jeannie Rivers
One of my personal favourites, Jeannie is a shy blonde girl with a nice body but slightly odd-looking breasts. She has average scenes in Slumber Party 8 but doesn’t get much screen-time and seems uncomfortably aloof. There appeared to be more off-screen intimacy between Jeannie and Cassidey, but sadly behind the camera is where it remained.

Leanni Lei
Leanni is a playful, petite Asian girl. She looks cuter here than in other movies of hers I’ve seen. She gets a fair amount of screen-time too, appearing in scenes with Halli and Cassidey, and outside the sex scenes. I like her more after seeing Slumber Party 8.

Salena del Ray
Salena is slightly older than the other girls but is hot, although she does have what looks like a painful C-section scar. She doesn’t feature much other than in her scene with Eva, in which she also squirts. I would have liked to have seen a lot more of Salena, but with seven girls the difficulty was probably in keeping to the desired duration.

But who says a movie has to be 85 minutes anyhow, especially on DVD? At any rate, I definitely hope to see more Shane's World titles. For another perspective check out Draken’s review.
