Initial Expectations: Although I have yet to be disappointed by a Shot at Home feature, I’m really looking forward to this one!

Initial Reaction: It’s pretty good, but has a few major faults for my tastes

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting more extreme sex or fairly consistent technical aspects

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects lack a little when compared to the big picture, but for amateur style porn they’re really impressive. The audio is well balanced, but the level does change very noticeably from the older footage to the newer footage. The video is also very impressive. The older footage looks noticeably older, but still looks very good. There are a few static lines, but I’d say that the footage here looks as good as a lot of porn from the early nineties that’s been done in studios. It’s pretty clear and there’s a bit of grain, but for amateur porn or porn from the mid nineties it looks great! The newer footage looks and sounds very good. It’s clear, well lit, and there isn’t much for camera shake. In both cases they use a tripod for some of the action, but it’s normally well focused. This is the best looking and sounding amateur feature I’ve seen!

Disc Problems / Complaints: Shot at Home puts a watermark on their movies. I know that this annoys a lot of people, but I think it’s very tastefully done and if people don’t concentrate on it they’ll easily get past it. It’s rather small and stays in one position throughout each scene rather than moving around and popping in and out where you notice it all the time. I don’t care for watermarks, but it’s done pretty well here.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu gives a small screenshot and your choices while the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on six small stills from the movie. The chapter menu will also let you jump directly to the different clips in the extras.

The Feature: Unlike some of the other Shot at Home features I’ve seen, Shelly Vol. 1 concentrates on one woman (namely Shelly, for those of you who get confused by things like voting ballots) with her main man Mike, and collects a few of their scenes since they were married. Some of the scenes are current, but there’s also action here that goes back nearly ten years! Each scene looks just like it came out of Shelly and Mike’s home video collection, and you’re told when they’re from before the scenes.

Shelly and Mike start things out with a little honeymoon footage from 1994. Shelly starts things out working herself over with her fingers on a bed while Mike coaches her from behind the camera. She finally gets enough of showing off for the camera and quits until Mike turns off the camera. When the camera gets turned back on, Shelly’s ready to take Mike’s prick in her mouth. She sucks him a bit before begging him to put the camera down and lick her pussy. He follows the “Yes dear” method of getting sex, letting Shelly rub olive oil over him and stroke his cock before he finally goes down on her. Mike moves on to fuck Shelley missionary style after a little more begging, and finish things up with Shelly taking an internal pop. Later, they sixty nine a bit. Shelly gives Mike some amazing deep throat action, and rather than taking a facial lets Mike blow his nutty goodness right down her throat! This is a very short segment, but still works well.

Next is a little vacation footage from 1995. Shelly shows off in front of a bed in a bit of red lingerie before diddling herself. Things cut to the bathroom, where Shelly enjoys a bubble bath and shaves her pussy before moving back to show off her bare beaver. Mike joins her after a bit, and lets her gobble his knob before climbing on to give her the bone missionary style. Shelly crawls on top for a little more control, and finally takes another internal pop.

This are nice blasts from the past. It’s obvious that Shelly enjoys sex, and just as obvious that Mike likes to watch. I had to laugh a few times as Shelly begged Mike to put down the camera. Mike obviously loves to be behind the camera and to watch his wife, and I can’t blame him. She has a nice flow to her segments, and nicely balances wanting to show off and wanting a little privacy by having him turn off the camera from time to time. I kinda doubt that this was Mike and Shelly’s first time in front of the camera, but it’s still a nice set of segments.

The rest of the feature takes place in good old 2003. Shelly, who looks like she’s only gotten better with age with the exception of a nicely done pair of bolt-ons, starts things out in a bit of a bubble bath with a pink dildo. Shelly works herself up to what looks to be a great orgasm that she enjoys completely. Since she’s warmed up, Mike decides its his turn. He has Shelly suck his cock and balls before they talk about what they’re going to do and head to the bedroom. They sixty-nine, with Shelly repeatedly throating Mike before she climbs up to ride him reverse cowgirl style. They go back for a little more sixty-nining before Shelly takes it missionary style. Mike also breaks out an anal toy, which Shelly obviously doesn’t like or want due to her screaming at him to take it out, before using it to show how he can DP his wife. They finish things up with a bit of reverse pile driver and more missionary before Mike gives Shelly a large but nearly clear pop across her mouth.

This scene leaves me with a bit of mixed feelings. There are many times when Shelly looks completely into the action, but there are many times when she’s completely not. You can often see the love in her eyes, but Mike comes off as a bit of a dick here since Shelly doesn’t want to do the DP and Mike obviously wants to show off. That isn’t to say that this completely ruined the scene. Shelly obviously likes it hard and deep, and you can tell that as much as she enjoys it, she also has her limits and Mike does respect them much of the time. This is a nice segment, and I can see a lot of people looking forward to more of Shelly in the future because of it!

Shelly Vol. 1 is a great start to what I hope is going to be a long running series. Shelly is very nice looking, she and Mike seem a perfect example of the couple next door that you’d never suspect are raving sex maniacs. Heck, Shelly even shows a few minor signs of having kids, and I think with how well she’s built more than a few women are muttering things under their breath about how her body looks after having a baby. Shelly obviously loves to fuck, and Mike loves to watch and tell her what to do. Seeing how they are here I have a feeling that this is just the tip of the iceberg for Shelly and Mike, and I really hope to see much more from them in the future! Overall: Currently, most of Shot at Home’s DVDs can be found online for around $20. I’m a little torn on this one. A lot of the action is excellent, as are the technical aspects and previews. Unfortunately, Shelly is obviously not enjoying some of the action, which held it back quite a bit for me.

Note to Shot at Home: It’s really great to see you varying the extra footage in each DVD rather than just recycling the same footage on every one of your discs! You’ve really come along nicely since I first started watching your DVDs!
