The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: As usual with Digital Playground, the technical aspects show a lot of care. The audio is clear and well balanced, but there is one area that's pretty noticeably dubbed in and a slight hiss in the background of another that's barely noticeable. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks great. It's very well lit and clear, with camera work that's very smooth.

Music: None

Menus: The main menu blends stills of the girls from the cover with a little minor animation for a cool first impression. The chapter menu nicely lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene, a chapter number, and the name of the girl(s) in their first chapter.

The Feature

The Video Nasty series keeps things nice and simple. Although the scenes normally have a little sequence to lead into them with a hint of a story and a bit of humor, they all stand independent of each other and are only connected by Celeste's artistic style and Robby D.'s great eye behind the camera.

Scene 1 – Sasha Grey, Shay Jordan, and Tony deSergio

Although the sex is far from nasty, there's a touch of intensity here that really makes the scene work well. This is a great scene to start the movie with.

Scene 2 – Maya Hills, Charles Dera, and Jerry

When Charles walks in with a barely dressed bottle blonde Maya crawling on the floor beside him, Jerry reminds him that he's allergic to pussies. Scene 5 – Nikki Kane and Tony deSergio

Scene 6 – Nautica Thorn, Shay Jordan, and Ben English

This is another very good scene. I was a little disappointed that the foot fetish action didn't continue longer, but at the same time I can understand Celeste not wanting to get too heavy into the fetish for this scene. There's great humor and chemistry once again, and the scene flows nicely. This is yet another scene that shows why Shay Jordan is getting so much attention.

Shay Jordan: Video Nasty is one heck of a hot fuck flick. The openings are a lot of fun and were done with such a fun spirit that I found myself looking forward to them as much as the sex in the next scene. Shay Jordan's opening scene with Sasha Gray and Tony deSergio is quite possibly my favorite, and once again it's easy to see why Shay has earned herself such a following in so little time. There's always great chemistry in the scenes, and as usual Robby D.'s eye behind the camera is right on while the care Celeste puts into things like the clothes and locations takes the scenes up another notch. Nikki Kane and Tony deSergio's scene is probably the weakest here, but even it doesn't drop down to the average level and fell back more due to Nikki's vocals feeling a bit forced more than anything. Shay Jordan Video Nasty shows how well a fun attitude can improve already hot sex.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery can be viewed either manually or as part of a slide show lasting nearly four minutes with about five seconds per great looking snapshot or full screen photo. There's also a behind the scenes featurette, a bio for Shay Jordan, and internet information.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts ten minutes. After a little holiday fun complete with a laugh track and fun with the stars and animation, Brah Bones introduces the action for the movie. Jamal Johnson makes his way around the set chatting with Shay Jordan about not being on fluffer duty, Madison about doing anal for her gallery, and more with Shay about getting rough with Sasha. There's also a little time admiring Maya and her outfit as well as fun with Maya and Nautica. Nautica also chats with Jamal about not eating enough of Shay's pussy in the shower. Throughout it all there's a Christmas holiday scene that just doesn't seem right for a movie released on Valentine's Day with a production date at the end of July, as well as plenty of fun pop-up “facts”. Digital Playground almost always does a great job with their behind the scenes featurettes mixing together plenty of personality, some great eye candy, and most of all, a sense of fun where you never know what you're going to get. That's on full display here as well, and shows why I always look forward to Digital Playground's BTS featurettes as well as why I'm always a little disappointed when they're left off.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Digital Playground’s bigger releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. This one's well worth the money. The sex is hot, the style is nicely done, and the openings are fun and help give the chemistry a boost right away in each scene. The technical aspects show some very nice care as well, and there's some good effort put into the extras. This is a nicely done DVD that's well worth checking out!
