Shades Of Romona Review

I don't understand this movie at all. Nonetheless, I do like the style of it and there are some very beautiful girls here like Ava Rose (the star), Sasha Grey and lesbian star Charlie Laine. Aside from the Love Twins, I think everyone in this movie looks great. The sets are decorated well, the lighting is interesting and the costumes are great. If there is a theme to all of these scenes, it probably is somehow expressed in the "video blog" interludes with Ava Rose, where she talks and smokes cigarettes and looks hot. The thing is, I can barely make out most of her words, so I don't know if they are meant to tie things together or what. But, Ava does get into the action in the last two scenes in a girl on girl with Charlie Laine which is very nice, as well as a solid boy-girl closer with Joey Brass.
The first major scene in the movie features Sasha Grey looking good in a sexy military-rebel-commando outfit and getting it on with her flamboyant leader after they concede defeat. She is sporting a lot of pubic hair in this one, so look out.
There is girl-girl action with Hospital! star Mandy Morbid taking on Alektra Blue. There's a solo scene with Annabelle Lee after she struggles out of some restraints. She even rides a dildo strapped to a toilet seat. Also, the Love Twins seemingly come out of a Daft Punk video and sex some guy up in a room enclosed by aluminum foil.

There are nice extras on the disc, including a very high quality BTS (over 20 minutes) and 3 nice solo scenes from Annabelle, Mandy and Alektra. There's also a bonus scene with Mandy and Lystra from "Young Hollywood."

All in all, I like this disc overall, but I don't really see myself coming back to most of the scenes... maybe Ava's scenes. It's interesting, and it has a decent soundtrack too (which doesn't always feel like it fits, however). But points for creativity... maybe the next one will cohere a bit more, though. Oh, and Charlie Laine's dress looked terrific. Did I mention that? Overall, it's worth a look if you want something a bit alternative.
