Audio /Video Quality:
The technical aspects are very nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice any background noises. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks great. It's very nicely lit with a solid hand on the camera and a clear presentation.
Watermark Warning:
Although I don't know of anyone who likes to see watermarks, I can't fault any studio who takes measures to try to protect themselves from the rampant internet piracy. Smash Pictures has a pretty decent watermark in the lower right corner. It's a touch big, but the main problem with it is that it uses a fairly bright pink for the "Smash" part of the watermark, and between the bright color and location it really makes the watermark stand out. It drew my eyes to it many times, which I really noticed when I was trying to decide on screen captures for this review. Smash is definitely on the right track here if they're going to include a watermark on their releases, but it would be greatly improved if it were a little smaller and not as bright for their future releases.
The Movie:
Shade X 2 keeps things simple and classy. Each scene has a little lead-in, sometimes being a tease and sometimes being a touch of a story to set things up.

Shade X 2 is a surprisingly solid interracial release. I've had solid luck with Smash's releases over the years, but for some reason I wasn't expecting that much going into this one as it just had a kind of generic look to it. It didn't take long for Shade X 2 to move past my expectations. There's a great sense of style to the movie that works very well with both the setups and the sex, and it helps to make what could have just been a good stroke flick into one that's also nicely couples friendly. There's great chemistry in each of the scenes, as well as a nice touch of class with the scenes being nicely consistent quality-wise from start to finish. Melissa's scene is the most generic to start things out, but picks up nicely as she and Nat get going. I love the opening visuals with Veruca bringing Jon Jon his wine as they look out, and the chemistry and sex between them is just as solid. Lea's opening putting on her lingerie and then teasing Jovan over the phone is probably my favorite, and the scene just doesn't slow down. It was also noteworthy to me as it easily had the best facial in the movie both being nice volume as well as being put out with some nice velocity instead of being dribbled out there. Finally Casey does a great job taking on Moe and his oversized schlong. It takes the movie back to the simpler side of things, but does so with a nice sense of class and chemistry that makes it work well. Shade X 2 is a very solid interracial release, and one that's well worth the purchase for interracial sex fans whether they're couples or just looking for some good stroke material.
The Extras:
The photo gallery lasts about nine and a half minutes. There's also a behind the scenes featurette, four trailers, a positions menu, and weblinks.
The behind the scenes featurette lasts just over a half hour. There's a little fun in places, but this one is heavily on the behind the scenes making of the movie. You don't get much of the girls putting on a little extra show for the camera or chatting with somebody showing some wit and personality behind the camera. Instead you get the performers shooting scenes and getting instructions from behind the camera. This style featurette definitely has its place, but without the eye candy and girls showing off a bit of personality it really doesn't offer too much. This is basic stuff of performers being fed lines and being told where to stand or what to do, and it ends up being fairly boring because of it. This is an okay at best featurette that's probably only going to appeal to really hardcore fans of the performers.
