Initial Expectations: I’m really not sure about this one. Something about it makes me really hopeful, but something else in my head is telling me “Be afraid. Be very afraid!”.

Initial Reaction: It’s good cheesy fun and has some pretty hot sex!

Who Should Watch It : Fans of Seymore Butts and anybody looking for a fun sex game.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody looking for a virtual sex simulator rather than a game.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio varies a bit. Most of it is pretty clear and well balanced, with Seymore always coming across very clear and well balanced with the rest of the audio. There’s also a bit of a hiss and camera styled noise (even though Seymore uses a Camcorder if I recall correctly), as well as a bit of a whine at times. The video suffers a bit. Most of it looks just like it probably did originally on VHS, but there are a few remnants and some lighting problems. You also see the other cameramen in a few parts, which is something I always find annoying but might have been unavoidable here.

Music: None.

Menus: The menus are simple and kind of cheesy. Luckily it comes off as the good kind of cheesy and fits the features just fine. There’s a chapter menu of sorts that allows you to jump directly to the sex scenes, but you have to visit New Machine’s website for the codes to do this. I guess it’s an okay way to do things, but whenever a company does this I get the feeling that they’re just trying to force traffic to their website.

The Feature: Seymore Butts Interactive 2: In Pursuit of Pleasure puts you right alongside Seymore Butts himself. It’s a nicer touch than so many of the other interactive titles that put you directly first person. As you make your way around, Seymore talks with you, and when there’s a decision to be made, he gives you the choices to make. The main idea is that Seymore’s dream girl across the street, Shane, got deported. She still wants to meet Seymore, and has a plane ticket waiting for him at the airport to come see her. All Seymore, with your help, has to do is get enough money together to pay for the ticket. To do this, you have to help him film enough girls with his friends so they’ll pick up his ticket.

As you make your way through, you normally have the Buttasonic Seymore cam. This is basically an overlay over the regular screen (since you can see a few edges here and there) where you help guide Seymore through things. At the end of each sequence, you get presented with choices.

Although it’s incredibly easy to navigate, it isn’t always as easy as it sounds. You have to remember phone numbers, make sure Seymore gets where he has to go on time, and do little things such as pay the bills. You also have to make sure Seymore gets to the phone, computer, and front door when he’s supposed to. You have to make decisions like whether to eat or go chase babes, and if you chase the babes, choose which ones to go for. When you actually start talking to the women, you also have to make choices. Choose right, and you or one of your friends are going to be happy. Choose wrong and you might end up getting slapped, punched, or even mugged (proving that you are in California).

After you make your choice, you normally see the results in a standard full screen presentation, which you can watch and play with as you would a normal feature. If you’re lucky, you might get a little action yourself, such as a great blowjob from Michaela Adkins or watching Vanessa Chase demonstrate a sybian-like toy for you before finishing you off. You might also get to film Michalea in a scene with one of your friends. If you play your cards right, you might get Asia Carrera to come back to Seymore’s place for some action, as well as girls such as Kirsty Waay, Jordan McKnight, Nicole Lace, Kim Kitaine, Sid Deuce, and a few others. Some of the lucky recipients are guys such as Alex Sanders, T. T. Boy, Gerry Pike, Tom Byron, Chaz Chase, and the lovely Felecia. Each scene lasts about ten minutes, with almost all vaginal action and a little anal and toy usage. The camera pans around fairly constantly, so although you don’t get a lot of full screen shots, you never really feel like you’re missing anything.

Of course, if you play your cards right you’ll get to see Shane, which is always a good thing. Just getting to Shane isn’t enough though. If you’re too tired she boots your dead ass out of the hotel room, but if you have enough energy, you get one heck of a show. Unlike the other scenes, you’re presented with choices throughout the scene with Shane. You can choose to do her cowgirl or doggie style, or just get a blowjob. You even get to choose whether to answer the door or not when somebody starts knocking in the middle of your action. Either way gives you a great ending, but it seemed much better to answer the door.

Overall, Seymore Butts Interactive 2 is a lot of good cheesy fun. It doesn’t take much thought, but it never seems like it’s supposed to. Instead it feels just like you’re a part of one of Seymore’s movies. The feel of the feature easily helps it past the cheesiness and makes it very enjoyable. It’s also fun because it’s not completely predictable. You might think you’re giving a very safe answer to move things along slowly, and instead you end up getting slapped. The scenes are normally nicely done and have nice chemistry in each of the scenes. Seymore Butts Interactive 2 is a nice interactive alternative to all of the sex simulators out there and well worth checking out.

Extras: To start things out, some of the scenes have a multi-angle option. Although they normally appear to be true multiple angles, they aren’t always. There are also about ten minutes of outtakes from the entire feature. You can choose to watch them all or choose just specific ones to view. It’s a very nice touch, and one that I wish more studios would use. Bonus scenes are included from Seymore and Shane on the Loose, Seymore and Shane Playing with Fire, Seymore and Shane Do Ireland, and Seymore and Shane Meet the Naughty Nympho. Unfortunately, they’re not your typical bonus scenes. They’re snippets of the features that look more like trailers than actual bonus scenes. Finally, there’s internet information. It’s a nice selection of extras, especially considering how much there is on three DVDs.

Overall: Currently, Seymore Butts Interactive 2 can be found online for between $20 and $35 with most stores offering it for around $30. For this price you might want to rent it first, but I think it will have quite a bit of replay to help justify the high price. If you’re a big Seymore fan you’ve probably seen many, if not all, of the scenes before, but they’re presented in a nice and fun fashion. The transfer is okay, and there are also some nice extras included.

Note to New Machine: You did a very nice job here and if you can keep this kind of quality going in your interactive DVDs, I hope you keep bringing them out.
