The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty average. The audio is clear and well balanced for the most part, but there is some very noticeable background noises in the outdoor scene and for Angela's squirting scene you can hear every drop of her girly goo as it lands around the camera. The video is presented in the full frame format and looks pretty average. The lighting can be a little dark and varies a little, and there's just a hint of grain. The camera also pokes into view a time or two.

Menus: The main menu is okay, and blends a bit of the boxcover with a clip from the movie in a very generic way. The chapter menu is also very generic, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene only. Thankfully there's also a menu that lets you choose where you want to go in each scene sexually, even if it is poorly labeled and doesn't give you something really useful like who's in each scene.

The Feature

Sometimes you just hit a snag in a relationship sexually and don't know what to do. If you really think you need help you can call or write “The Doctor”, and yes, he does make housecalls. He also has plenty of solutions at the tip of his tongue and a very satisfied list of clients...

Scene 1 – Michelle B. and Alec Knight

Although Alec wants to have sex all the time, Michelle rarely puts out, makes him earn it doing chores around the house before letting him have any, and wants to get it done as quickly as possible. This scene is far from original, but it is very enjoyable.

Scene 2 – Naudia Nyce and Jerry

Naudia starts the next scene out in a yellow spaghetti strap top and white skirt waiting for The Doctor to arrive as Jerry looks on. When The Doctor arrives they settle into the couch and she lets The Doctor know that Jerry just doesn't give her oral sex any more like he used to. Scene 3 – Angela Stone and Barry Scott

After checking the line on the game, the good Doctor takes a little time to listen to hot blonde Angela and bald Barry's problem. They're trying everything by the book, but he just can't make her cum. Once again there's nothing too special with the scene, but the opening helps give it a nice little boost and put a little chemistry in that kicks the scene up very well.

Scene 4 – Nikki Hunter and Christian XXX

Nikki and Christian are more than happy to see The Doctor about their problem, which surprisingly wasn't that Christian kept sneaking out of the house with her strap-on when she wasn't looking. Scene 5 – Brandi Lyons, Dakota Cameron, and Scott Lyons

Chemistry is always important in a group scene, and there was plenty of it between them here. This is a decent scene to end the movie with.

Sexual Therapy is a surprisingly enjoyable movie. I don't think I've seen anything from Barry Wood before, and I honestly wasn't sure what to expect as I've seen both extremes from Sex Z. Here I was very nicely surprised with both the sex and the overall movie. There's a nice variety of sex in the movie that stops just short of two guys with a girl, and it always goes along with some nice chemistry and good vocals. I think Michelle B. and Nikki Hunter's scenes were the most enjoyable for me, but I also can't say that there was one that I didn't care for as the others don't fall too far behind them. It's the setups that really stood out for me, and they did so because they were generic and a bit cheesy, but done in a way that I couldn't help but enjoy them and look forward to each and every time “The Doctor” took to the screen. As for complaints, the camera work is a little rough in places with some motion you can't help but notice and the cameras popping into view a time or two. Sexual Therapy might be a simple and generic porno, but I couldn't help but enjoy it.

The Extra Stuff

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about ten minutes. Naudia start things out posing for some pretty girls before it moves on to shooting some of Nikki and Michelle's scenes. This is a pretty good featurette. There's a bit of personality with the stars, but the segments all seem way too short. Still, this is much better than no behind the scenes featurette at all.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Sex Z Pictures' DVDs can be found online for between about $16 and $25 with a few stores offering them for under $20. This is a little high, but I can't help but recommend this one to rent or if you can find it cheap. The sex is familiar but enjoyable and the technical aspects are pretty average. There's a touch of effort put into the extras, but not too much. This DVD could use a bit of polishing all around, but it's still an enjoyable movie.

Note to Sex Z Pictures: A little effort towards the technical aspects would have really helped this one out.
