The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice any background noises. The video is very nicely presented in anamorphic widescreen. It has just a touch of grain to help with the artistic presentation and the lighting feels very natural.

Music: There's a little music to start out some of the scenes, but it nicely fades out before the scene gets too far.

Menus: The main menu blends a little animation with a few stills of Stoya for a simple but nice first impression. The chapter menu is much the same way, and lets you choose a scene bases on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number, as well as the name of the girl in her first chapter.

The Feature

The Sexual Freak series works as much with style as it does substance or the cover girl. This time the cover girl's Stoya, which means you get to see her in multiple scenes, and the substance builds itself around women in control and crazy women.

Stoya: Sexual Freak 7 is the most fun I've had watching any installment of this series so far. There's still some of the dominant woman theme that runs through the other installments of the series, but more than anything this one focuses on the “freak” aspect and lets the girls go a little crazy. This lets the scenes go for humor or intensity, and at times even gives a little of both. Stoya shines in each of her scenes, but there isn't a bad scene in the movie and even the “weak” scenes are hot and fun. Stoya: Sexual Freak 7 has set the bar for the rest of the series, and leaves me eagerly anticipating more from Stoya.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery can be viewed either manually or as a slide show lasting a little under four minutes with about six seconds per very nice looking snapshot or full screen photo. Trailers are included for Pirates 2, Island Fever 4, and Icon. There's also a behind the scenes featurette, weblinks, cumshot recaps, and a bio for Stoya.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about nine minutes. Robby starts out capturing Stoya pre-makeup and showing how naturally beautiful she is before she chats about her first anal scene and girls. Ben is next, who chats about the possibility of problems boning girls he represents before Dana talks with Stoya about anal and poses for stills. Riley talks with Stoya about how she got in before chatting with Tori about anal and Erik Everhard (who Tori didn't know anything about). Tori also talks about what she likes sexually. This is the most straightforward behind the scenes featurette I think I've seen from Digital Playground, and it's also one of the best. It pays a lot of attention to the personalities of the girls, and lets Stoya show off herself rather than focusing on jokes about the shoot. This is a very nice featurette that's highly recommended to anybody the least bit curious about Stoya.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Digital Playground’s bigger releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. This one's well worth the money. The movie is very hot and very fun with Stoya shining in each of her scenes. The technical aspects show some very nice care and the extras show a bit of effort and plenty of personality. This is an all around great DVD.

Note to Digital Playground: I hope you let Stoya try the BTS camera more in the future, as well as trying the more straightforward approach you had here.
