I really haven't been able to watch porn for a while, but I made the exception with this, and probably later today, Scorpio Rising. So, was Sextet any good? Well...
The Movie: It's hard to make a clear judgement on Sextet, since I still don't know the purpose of the movie. The basic plot is this: Paul Thomas and Tawny and everyone are in Budapest making a movie about a girl who got an inheritence. There are vampires in that movie. The thing is, the vampires play no real part in the real world plot until THE very end, and the plot of the movie within the movie doesn't really make much sense. Still... most people aren't going to be watching the movie for the plot.
The sex is good all around. You have two girl group scenes, a guy/girl/girl scene (with no pop shot), and five guy/girl scenes. So, there is a lot of bang for your buck. All the scenes are good, but not to extreme. There are no real stand out scenes, but no real duds either. Still, there is one scene with no pop shot (the girl/girl/guy scene) which was odd, but other than that, it was all good, and what you would expect from a movie from Vivid.
There is one scene on the disc that does have an interesting twist to it. The scene starts with Tawny having a guy (a very cute guy mind you) use a douche on her. I was not expecting this, nor have I ever seen this in a movie before. I didn't think that act was sexy, but it was... interesting. Still, all you female viewers out there, never douche. It is horrible for your health, and can cause severe infections. If you have any more questions, go to your OB/GYN and ask about it.
So is the movie any good? As a movie with plot, not really. It doesn't make a ton of sense, and there isn't much plot to speak of. It basically becomes kind of a campy B-movie. I guess that was the feel they were going for. As an adult film... yeah, it is pretty good. The sex is good, and the cast (both male and female) are very good looking. Actually, you also have about equal focus on the male body and the female body, which made me very happy. So, while it's not a groundbreaking movie, it is entertaining, and the sex is good.
Tech Stuff: The picture is grainy, as is expected. The sound is good though. This movie looks very well handled (tight direction, good sound editing, good editing), but the transfer to the DVD is so off that it kind of brings down the look.
Extras: The usual batch of Vivid extras. Behind the Scenes, Photo Galleries, Extra Scenes
OverAll: This isn't the best, but it isn't the worst. Plot wise, the movie doesn't do much, except create a nice sense of fun and camp. The sex is hot, and there is plenty of it, so in the long run, the movie succeeds. If you are a Tawny fan, or have the cash, pick it up.
Special Note: The box says that Tawny does anal in all her scenes. This is not true. Tawny has four scenes, two are girl group scenes, and two are guy/girl scenes. In the first guy/girl scene there is no anal. Most of the other guy/girl scenes (but not the guy/girl/girl scene) do include anal though.
