This reviewer is going to start this review by saying he isn't exactly sure why he decided to review Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers. This reviewer was never a fan of Ed Powers' long-running Dirty Debutantes series, and, after viewing Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers, this reviewer isn't becoming a fan of Ed Powers.

Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers marks the return of Ed Powers to the adult industry after a six-year hiatus. This time around, Ed Powers has teamed up with Brian Berke of AMA Modeling, who has a producer credit for Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers as a producer under the name Brian Burke. AMA Modeling is serving as the exclusive modeling agency for Ed Powers' new series.

Ed Powers started in the adult industry in 1989 with his series Bus Stop Tales, which was a scripted version of Jamie Gillis' On the Prowl series. Ed Powers is most known for the Dirty Debutantes series, which was started by Jamie Gillis and Duck Dumont in 1989. The series was designed by Jamie Gillis to be a series that featured an interview and sex scene with industry first-timers. Ed Powers convinced Jamie Gillis to do the series with him instead of Duck Dumont, even though the first scene with Mia Powers having already been produced.

Jamie Gillis partnered with Ed Powers, and the Nasty Brothers were formed. Due to Ed Powers going back to the scripted set-ups he used in the Bus Stop Tales series, Jamie Gillis started having less and less to do with the Dirty Debutantes series prompting Ed Powers to bring on a third Nasty Brother, Randy West. Jamie Gillis and Ed Powers ultimately parted ways in 1991 when Jamie Gillis started a series of lawsuits that he would eventually lose that spanned seven years.

Ed Powers continued the Dirty Debutantes series for almost 400 volumes, with various additions to the Dirty Debutantes name, until its end in 2014.

With his rebirth in the industry, the now 65-year-old Ed Powers promises “less editing showing more of the reality” in his new Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers series. From what this reviewer can tell, the Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers series is more of the same of how Ed Powers made his Dirty Debutantes series with just a different name.

Ed Powers has been in the industry for long enough to know what he is doing and to run a professional shoot. However, Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers comes across looking like a high schooler made it about to get laid for the first time trying to document it on his cell phone to show his buds in the locker room.

Most of the movie is shot with a hand-held camera by Ed Powers, with portions shot with the portable camera by Tucker Stevens and Lulu Chu. Some footage was captured by a stationary camera that appears to be running without an operator (Although Ed Powers makes some comments, not in the movie, that sound like the fixed camera may have been operated by Criss Simon.).

Ed Powers should have experimented with the digital camera he used prior to making the movie. The results are some awful shots and a lot of blurry shots during the movie. The stationary camera appears to have some version of a fisheye lens on it that gives the image distortion making that footage look odd. Ed Powers would have been far better off investing in an experienced camera person or two and would have ended up with a far better-looking end product.

Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers consists of one sex scene that spans the 50-minute run time of the movie. The sex scene with the 19-year-old Lulu Chu with the “helping hand” of Tucker Stevens. Tucker Stevens is an active participant in the scene, so this reviewer isn't sure why she is considered just a “helping hand.”

The scene takes place in a hotel room, with no attempt made to make it look like it isn't a hotel room. The design of the scene is one that viewers have seen time and time again from Ed Powers. There is an “interview” of Lulu Chu by Ed Powers. The interview is essentially the same one that Ed Powers has been doing for decades.

Unfunny grandpa jokes in this entry have replaced Ed Powers' unfunny old man jokes from his previous movies. Ed stays mostly clothed for the sex scene, which is probably for the benefit of the viewer, and the sex scene isn't overly enjoyable. The lackluster sex scene isn't the fault of either Lulu Chu or Tucker Stevens. There is only so much the two of them can do. Ed seems to have run out of steam. His Dirty Debutantes volumes seemed to be getting worse and worse and that trend only continues in this new series.

Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers should have been edited more since footage showing that Ed Powers has no idea how to operate the digital camera is kept in the movie. There is also footage with Ed Powers talking to Lulu Chu and Tucker Stevens about the photoshoot that was going to happen after the shooting of the sex scene. None of this should have been included, it doesn't add to the movie, it just makes the movie seem even more incompetent than it otherwise would.

In short, viewers who loved Ed Powers' Dirty Debutantes series should find a lot to like in the first volume of Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers and will be happy to know that the second volume, starring Riley Jean and Maya Farrell, will be released later this month. Viewers who found Ed Powers' movies to be lacking and his shtick to be tiring in the past, as this reviewer did, will discover Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers to be more of the same. If you opt to watch this movie, remember, you were warned.

Grandpa Ed Powers has done a nice job with their streaming and download edition of Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers. Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers was shot digitally and is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 in 2160p. The picture is clear, and without defects; however, no one did any color grading, so the footage from the two cameras used is not the same. There is a GrandpaEdPowers.com bug in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers is presented with an English Stereo audio track. There doesn't appear to be any issues with the sound quality in the movie. The dialog is clear and easy to understand at all times.

Grandpa Ed Powers hasn't included any extras for their streaming and download edition of Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers.

Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers marks the return of Ed Powers to the adult industry after a six-year absence. Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers may be a departure from the Dirty Debutantes name that Ed Powers has used on most of his videos for three decades; however, the content isn't. If anything, Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers looks even more amateur than his previous works. If you were a fan of Ed Powers' Dirty Debutantes series, you'd probably love the first volume of his new series. If you weren't, you are going to hate Sex With Grandpa Ed Powers. Grandpa Ed Powers has done a good job with their streaming and download edition available on HotMovies with good picture and sound quality.
