Initial Expectations: Wit Maverick normally made some good movies, and this one's old enough that Hustler's quality control hadn't seemed to have dropped yet. I'm looking forward to this one.

Initial Reaction: It has a decent idea, but just doesn't do it justice even by porn standards.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice any background noises. The video is nicely presented in anamorphic widescreen. The picture is clear and there's some nice attention paid to the lighting with a lot of shadows that rarely interfere with the action.

Music: The music is okay. The style is a little different than the typical porn music, and it has a nice balance with the rest of the audio.

Menus: The main menu nicely works through a few animated stills of the girls before settling in on a nice group photo to give a good first impression. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a title for the scene. There's also a “Select a Star” option that lets you not only choose a scene based on stills of the girls and their names, but choose where you want to go in the scene sexually after you choose a girl.

The Feature

Let's see... Chloe was a virgin, but is really a whore... She and Kyle were in a relationship that ended badly... Yeah, that's about it for a story here.

Scene 1 – Chloe Dior and Kyle Moore

Bottle blonde Chloe starts out lying on a bed kissing Kyle before he helps her out of her panties and moves in to lick her pussy. She kisses him in appreciation before rubbing his cock through his boxer shorts and then letting him come up so she can suck him. This is a pretty good scene that reminds me that thinking can get me in trouble. Chloe looks darn good and has pretty good chemistry with Kyle. At the same time, Chloe going from virgin (one of the few with fake tits, bottle blonde hair, and a multitude of tattoos) to telling Kyle to fuck her ass just was a little much for the suspension of disbelief even in porno. This is an okay scene.

Scene 2 – Kirsten Price and Sativa Rose

As Chloe tells Kyle that her mom's doing his mom, the action cuts to a pool where bottle blonde Kirsten gets it on with brunette Sativa. They kiss and grope each other before Kirsten moves down to suck Sativa's tits. This is a pretty hot scene. Kirsten and Sativa look great, and get into each other nicely as well. The only problem with this scene for me was that once again, I couldn't shut off my brain. Shouldn't 'mothers' be more than, say, eight years older than their daughters? Why not “sisters” or “step-mothers”? Yes, I know that thinking is once again getting me in trouble, but I couldn't help but start laughing when I saw Kirsten and Sativa as the “mothers” to Kyle and Chloe. The sad part is that one would could have fixed it all.

Scene 3 – Joey Valentine and Kyle Moore

While giving each other a little moral support, Kyle gets it on with brunette Joey on a couch. They kiss passionately before Joey moves down to help Kyle out of his pants so she can worship his cock with her mouth and hands. This is a pretty hot scene. The setup is hokey, but there's some nice chemistry between them. Joey looks fantastic and has a great body as well as putting out some nice energy and vocals. This is a one of the best scenes in the movie.

Scene 4 – Cindy Crawford and Kyle Moore

Kyle plays pizza delivery dude to bottle blonde Cindy in a porn movie next. Cindy lays back on a table for Kyle to lick her in return before he stands up to fuck her missionary style. This is a pretty good scene. Cindy, as always, looks plenty good and she puts out some very nice vocals and energy. I was a bit surprised that she didn't take the facial here, but that's far from a complaint with how well she does. The porno set setup for the scene with somebody hollering now and then didn't do much for me and was the main thing to hold the scene back. This is a pretty good scene, but I just couldn't get into it too much.

Scene 5 – Chloe Dior and Randy Spears

Chloe kisses Randy passionately in the kitchen before he has her drop down to suck his cock. She lays back on a table for him to go right to fucking her missionary style before he picks her up and moves her to the other side of the kitchen to fuck her from behind. This is a pretty good scene. Chloe plays the whore very well here and puts out some great energy and vocals. I was kind of expecting a little more anal here, especially with her coming out more as a whore now than as the “virgin” in the beginning. This was a good scene to end the movie with.

Sex Trap is a very forgettable movie. Wit Maverick has made some nicely done features in the past, and you can tell that there's a good idea behind this one. That said, it seems like he was given such a small budget that he could never do it justice. The sex isn't bad, but it's so burdened by porn stereotypes that it's downright laughable at times. Seriously, Chloe Dior the “virgin” asking for anal sex for her first sexual experience? Sativa Rose and Kirsten Price as the “mothers” of Chloe and Kyle? That kind of stupidity is a big anchor around the neck of Sex Trap, but it's held back just as much by the characters. I'm not sure if this is a fault of a low budget or the “Screw it, it's just porn” attitude that sadly rises up so often, but there isn't a single likable character in the movie. It's hard to get into a sexual feature when you don't care about anybody. Although there's some bad things happening to pretty much everybody in the movie, I also never felt any reason to care about them. That might not be uncommon in porn, but it is when the characters are so unlikable that you don't care if they fuck or not, which is how I was with the entire cast. Sex Trap is not that easy to like, but it should be easy to forget.

The Extra Stuff

The slide show lasts about two and three quarter minutes with about six seconds per good looking full screen photo or snapshot. Trailers are included for Asian Fever 24, Bitches in Heat, Barely Legal Corrupted 3, Barely Legal Innocence 3, Black & Wild 15, and One in Every Hole. There's also a behind the scenes featurette, bloopers, and since this is a Hustler release, tons of commercials.

The blooper reel doesn't quite last a minute. Rather than going with a few flubbed lines like in most blooper reels, this one actually gives you a few sexual bloopers with comments and crackups. For the time, this is a very fun little scene.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts a little under five minutes. You get a little eye candy with the girls hanging out and posing for stills before Wit works with Chloe a bit for her scene. There's also a few words with Kyle Moore before they go back to working on the movie. This is an okay little behind the scenes featurette without anything really unique or special to offer.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Hustler’s DVDs can be found online for between about $16 and $25 with stores offering it everywhere in between. Rent this one first or aim very low. Maybe it's just not my kind of movie, but with no likable characters and generic sex I just couldn't get into this one. The technical aspects show some care and there's a bit of effort put into the extras, but that isn't enough to save this one.

Note to Hustler: I know that this is an older movie, but it's nice to actually see things like a behind the scene featurettes included on the DVD when they're advertised on the cover.
