NOTE: This is a homemade amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. That said, amateur and homemade features have a great charm to them, simple because the people in them are doing what they’re doing to have fun and because they enjoy it. All the things that separate them from studio porn contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review and not just look at the ratings as the ultimate word on this release. Since the technical aspects are normally lacking and there normally isn’t much for extras in amateur features, I’ve weighted my overall rating more heavily towards the sex than I do in most studio porn.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects for an amateur movie largely depend on the equipment the people use as well as how proficient they are with it. Selena Silver at Home 1 shows some nice equipment as well as the knowhow on how to use it. The audio is the worst part of the feature, but far from bad. It’s a little hollow at times, a little out of balance, and there are a few background noises. That said, it’s not exactly a negative here. It helps with the homemade feel of the movie, and seems very natural for a home movie. The video is very nicely done. It’s clear and barely has a hint of grain. Most of it is well lit, although there are a few shadows. Quite simply, the video looks as good as or better than many studio shot movies I’ve seen.

Music: There’s a little music during one of the later sequences in the movie. It has a very sexy feel and is the only audio during that portion of the movie.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu pretty much gives you the movie cover and the choices. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a still from each section.

The Feature

After thinking about it a bit, Selena Silver has decided to leave behind the large camera crews and productions and give her fans the real her. She lets the camera start running on Saturday morning, and keeps it going all weekend so that you can get a taste of her as a person at home. She shows off her house and talks about some of her favorite decorations around the house as well as her hobbies. She talks about herself, her sexuality, and most everything else you could think of about her. Of course, she also shows some of the things she does best.

Scene 1 - Selena Silver

Selena starts things off just like most people want her, naked and horny. She lies on her back on a cushion and softly diddles herself. She talks to the camera softly while rubbing and fingering her completely shaven pussy. She works herself to an orgasm before thanking the camera and blowing it a kiss.

This is a great start to the feature. Selena plays to the camera amazingly well, and builds the heat in the scene in no time whatsoever. Although it’s an amateur movie, the camera work is very well done and mixes up the shots very nice between slow pans across Selena’s great natural body and distance shots which let you see it all. Right from the start you can tell that this is going to be a high quality amateur feature.

Scene 2 - Selena Silver

After a tour of her home, Selena gets up to make a topless cup of tea in the morning wearing only a pair of white and pink shorts. While the water boils in the kettle, Selena diddles herself. Later she continues the tour, talks about herself, and does a bit of her Inside View review of Teen Sensations 7 with the help of her handy dandy vibe.

This is a very nice sequence. Selena nicely mixes up the tour, the interview, and a couple nice masturbation sequences. It all has a very friendly and very natural feel which makes the masturbation scenes all the better.

Scene 3 - Selena Silver

Selena moves on to her bedroom next. She shows off her bathroom on the way to her walk-in closet, and breaks out plenty of her sexy outfits to show off. She shows off a matched bra and panty set, a red corset complete with thigh high boots and long black gloves, a soft, pink, fluffy pink outfit, and a red quick access outfit. After a bit of dress-up, Selena decides to check out her scene from Double Parked 8, and of course feels the need to diddle herself again.

This is another great sequence. Selena’s dress up sequence is amazingly hot, and has a sexuality and sensuality that’s stronger than many full on sex scenes. She has a great playful spirit here which helps it to really come out a winner.

Scene 4 - Selena Silver

After talking quite a bit about her sexual experiences in the hot tub and bathtub, Selena puts on a solo show in front of her windows with the night lights of the city behind her. She rolls around in the dark diddling herself until she has a nice orgasm.

This is another great sequence. It’s nicely different from the others by being fairly dark and artistic. The artistic and dark feeling really strengthens the scene, as you can see just enough of Selena to know that she’s having a great time. This scene is a great example of how less really can be more.

Scene 5 - Selena Silver

Selena finishes things out with one last show. This time it’s inside on her bed. Selena plays gently and teases you with her ass before sliding a finger in it. She plays with each of her holes with her fingers a bit and then breaks out a couple toys. She double penetrates herself with her toys, and brings herself to a nicely vocal orgasm.

This is a great scene to end things with. Selena puts some great effort into the scene, and definitely shows off a love of multiple cocks. As usual, things come off as incredibly naturally and although it’s a ‘dirtier’ scene, it never feels nasty. This is a great scene to end things with.

As I came to the end of Selena Silver at Home, I couldn’t help but think of a couple concerts I went to nearly ten years ago. The first was Eric Clapton at the last show ever in Minnesota’s St. Paul Civic. After putting everybody though a lousy warmup band who didn’t even have any songs of their own, he did his usual great job. Then during the encore after what was no more than two songs, with the crowd going wild and the entire band completely pumped and a heartbeat away from going into another song, he waved them off and walked offstage as if he didn’t care about them at all so long as they paid for their tickets. Both my wife and I decided that we’d never pay another cent to see Clapton live again.

Roughly a week after that I went to see Elton John. He played just as long as Clapton and the lousy warmup band did, and after every two or three songs he’d stop, talk to the crowd, and walk around the stage signing autographs for anybody who could come up to the stage. By the end of the show there wasn’t a single person wanting an autograph. That type of respect for the fans made us decide that any time Elton came to town and we had the money, we’d be going to see him again. The next time Elton came to town we went again, and he showed the fans the same level of respect. You could tell that Elton knew who made him a star and kept him there.

That same knowledge and respect shows throughout every moment of Selena Silver at Home. From what I’ve seen in the past, Selena has been a good star. Others have often sung her praises, but to me she didn’t seem anything overly special. That all changed here. Selena gives a thank you to her fans at the end of the movie, but by that time it’s almost redundant. The entire feature came across to me as Selena straight from her heart to her fans. Nothing about it ever seemed fake, and Selena came across so honestly and real that I found it impossible not to like her. I had a smile on my face and a tent in my pants throughout almost the entire feature, and in the end found myself a little in awe. Selena Silver at Home is a simple movie, but very personal. In many ways it goes farther than the best developed studio films despite being an amateur movie because of that personal feeling. The only thing I can see anybody complaining about is that there’s a lot of talking and the sex is only masturbation, but that was just fine with me here. It just makes me hope that Selena follows this up with a sequel where we get to see a bit more of her in action. If you’re anywhere from Selena Silver’s biggest fan with a restraining order to prove it down to te person who’s just heard about Selena and wonders what gives, Selena Silver at Home Vol. 1 is a must have DVD.

The movie is fantastic, the technical aspects are nicely done, and there’s even a little effort put into the extras. This is a fantastic amateur DVD, and a must have for anybody who’s a fan of Selena Silver!
