Search, The (Ikarus) Review

Since Bel Ami discovered it was sitting on a potential gold mine with its audition tapes, other studios have got in on the act. THE SEARCH a.k.a. BOY SEARCH from Ikarus is one of these. If you know Ikarus you know that they have exceptional men engaging in exceptional sex. You will be glad to see the auditions of guys you love and also see guys that you hope to see more of. If you don’t know Ikarus then here is your chance to sample the goodies.
Unlike most audition tapes in which model after model sits in a chair answers questions and jacks off to a stationary camera, this film has a camera which moves lingeringly over their exquisite bodies, gives us a variety of settings, and often shows the models being approached for the shoots. At the conclusion we also have four hunks sucking and fucking to make certain that if you haven’t shot your load before you will then.
It would take too long to describe every model herein, so I will just concentrate on those I found to be the most uplifting.
Tony Montana, a muscular Czech who is one of the most gorgeous guys to ever appear on film. (He was immediately snatched up to appear in this studio’s ALPINE PASSION—see review.)
Honza Brabec, a blond with wire-rimmed glasses that he leaves on as he jacks off. He has the appearance of someone who is intelligent as well as beautiful. He hasn’t yet appeared elsewhere so this is your only opportunity to sample his…uh, work.
Two guys who are obviously brothers as they are perfect images of each other although they have opted for different last noms de porn. They stand side by side to jerk off and exchange looks that make us believe their brotherly love may go well beyond the platonic. (They go all they way in ALPINE PASSION.)
There is also Carlo a very muscular kid who appeared in the January 2002 of Freshmen magazine as Steve Herman. Carlos is blond and built like the proverbial brick shithouse. He seems shy and sweet which makes him even more endearing. This guy has a great future!
Peter, that they find in a gym, is a handsome stud with pierced ears. He speaks English. He tells us that he has done 5 films. I know I have seen him in something where he used a different name. Damn, but I wish I could remember!
He is followed by Patrick, a short guy with a lightly haired chest. He is also familiar. It’s another case of “the face and cock are familiar but I can’t place the name.”
Coming across five guys whose car has broken down, our director talks them into auditioning. Some are anxious to do so; others are hesitant; but when “money” is mentioned they agree to do it as a lark. There is an exceptional young hunk in this group, a fact which is not fully realized until we see him naked. He says his name is Pavlos, that he’s Greek, and is just visiting Czechoslovakia on holiday. Pavlos has a beautifully proportioned, muscular body from his love of swimming in the ocean. He also has a big thick dick!
After this pentathlon, we are back in the audition room for Tom, a cute guy with a shaven crotch. (Yum!) And David, a bartender who has a really big one.
A cityscape and the sounds of Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody indicate we are now in Budapest. We have a montage of posing shots as though taken for a magazine featuring in turn: Laszlo, Andreas, Albert, and Zoltan. Laszlo is handsome and firmly built, Andreas is cute with a mischievous grin and a nice body, Albert has long blond hair, and Zoltan is another of those “hunks-to-die-for”.
We next see Andreas on a sofa sticking his fingers up his butt. A stiff cock appears at his head. It belongs to Laszlo. Andreas takes it into his mouth. The camera pulls back to show Albert fellating Zoltan. Then the suckees in each group become the suckers as Laszlo sucks Andreas and Zoltan chows down on Albert. Zoltan then fucks Andreas who is lying back on a table as Andreas returns to sucking Laszlo. Then Laszlo and Zoltan switch places. As Laszlo now fucks Andreas, Albert and Andreas vie for sucking Zoltan’s dick. Andreas shoots a big load onto his belly. Albert and Laszlo add theirs to the mixture. But before Zoltan shoots his load, he demonstrates to the others his ability to suck I his own cock. He just bends over and that’s it. He finishes by dropping a copious load. (Both Andreas and Zoltan are also in ALPINE PASSION where their separate scenes are equally scorching.)

As you can see this is more than just an audition tape. Director Conny Haller has taken it beyond that to make it into an engrossing film. I hope to see more of these performers elsewhere, but if not at least I have them here.

The DVD has the usual chapter sections to enable us to review the auditions we want to see again and again, and also “Hot Shots” a replay of all the money shots. And, of course previews of Ikarus’ other films. There is a problem with sound in that the voices are not in sync. But as—with the exceptions of Peter and Patrick, who speak English—the performers are speaking Czech, this is only slightly annoying. This a great studio with a talented director and scrumptious models that engage in great sex.
It’s really hard being a casting director for Ikarus. Lucky Bastard!
