Initial Expectations: This one looks kinda fun, and there’s enough talent in the female cast that I’m looking forward to it.

Initial Reaction: As with all of Scotty’s movies, I enjoyed this one a lot more than I should have.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who wants to have a little fun with their porn

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants something overly serious or nasty

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is clear and well balanced, especially for the age of the feature. The video shows a bit more age. It’s well lit, but has a bit of grain and a few remnants. There are also a few parts where the video is slowed for effect which means some of the audio gets dubbed. The video has its faults, but for a movie that’s almost ten years old I’ve seen much worse.

Music: The music is pretty typical for porno. It’s got a bit of a rock beat and is just a little loud.

Menus: The main menu has some fun animation and the chapter menu is pretty standard, allowing you to choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number.

The Feature: Remember the Richard Pryor and Jackie Gleason movie The Toy? Don’t worry, nobody else does either. Scotty Schwartz played Master Bates in that movie, but don’t let that joke make you watch the movie. He was also the kid who got his tongue stuck to the flagpole in A Christmas Story, which I still watch every year and plan on continuing until I die. Now that Scotty’s all grown up he wants to try porn. Luckily for him, Juli Ashton decides to see if he has what it takes to make it.

Juli Ashton starts things off straddling the face of a latex mask clad Michael J. Cox and kissing Peter North’s mouth and nipples. Sadly, the action doesn’t get too far before it’s cut off to go to a bit of plot. Luckily it gets back to the action a few minutes later, and makes up for it by showing a bit of Veronica Hart showing some skin and masturbating lightly to Juli and the guys in what I think might have been her last sexual role. It’s not much, but Veronica still looks damn hot here (as well as today), and shows that age doesn’t always cancel out sexy. Juli sucks each of the guys, giving Michael his turn in her mouth as Peter spoons her, and then lets Michael have the first turn at her ass. She finally has Peter join in for the DP before taking an impressive facial from Peter while Michael dribbles on her tits. It’s a great scene, and Juli takes both guys with ease throughout it all. As great as Juli and the boys are here, I think Veronica Hart made the scene for me.

Next up, Juli Ashton gets a piece of Serenity. They tongue each other’s twat, with Serenity clearly being the more energetic of the two. After a bit, Juli works Serenity over with a clear dildo, which Serenity very eagerly and energetically accepts before returning it to Juli and then sharing it with her. It’s an interesting scene because Juli and Serenity have such completely different styles. Juli’s very subdued and Serenity lets it all go, and somehow they balance each other out. On paper, it sounds very odd, but it works nicely here.

Nick East gives Rebecca Lord some back alley loving next. He gives her tits some terrific tonguing before having her turn around so he can bury his face between her cheeks and give her some down under tonguing. Rebecca warms Nick up in return by taking him into her throat several times and massaging his balls before letting him nail her from behind. They also work through the cowgirls while Scotty watches and gropes himself, before finishing things up with a little missionary and a pop on Rebecca’s stomach. It’s a very nice scene. Rebecca and Nick have good chemistry and energy together, and Scotty adds a nice bit of humor to it as well. Something’s missing to make it a great scene, but it’s still fun.

Things heat up at the Wicked party, which becomes the penultimate scene. Ruby and Vince Voyeur start things off in one of the darker areas, while Tricia Devereaux (looking cute and realistic as ever) gives Montana Gunn a little demonstration with a strap-on while Juli makes her way around tormenting Scotty about the action he’s not supposed to get involved with. As usual, both Ruby and Tricia are a joy to watch and put more than a little into their scenes. Ruby mixes up oral and fucking, while Tricia concentrates on working Montana over. The two couples merge when Randy West joins in and starts fucking Montana. Tricia loses her dick so she can get Randy’s inside her, and shares Randy’s facial with Montana after Ruby takes Vince’s cock cream on her cunt. It’s a pretty hot scene thanks to Tricia and Ruby, and the only thing that holds it back is a pink light that shines on them through a large portion of the scene.

Finally, Scotty Schwartz gets his chance with Juli Ashton after she gives him a few lessons. The slowly work each other over orally, including a bit of sixty-nine so Scotty can work on both of Juli’s holes with his fingers while she sucks him, before fucking missionary style. Scotty seems to have some wood problems, and never manages to pop. It’s an anticlimactic scene, but does work okay. Scotty seems to have trouble with everything else and never seems to grown up throughout the movie, and not being able to pop seems to fit the juvenile nature of his role here.

Scotty’s X-Rated Adventure is a lot of fun, and perhaps more than it should be. Scotty does a great job of playing a likeable putz, and has enough innocence and horniness about him that almost all of the jokes around him work extremely well. Juli plays the experienced porner just as well, and her natural feel that has attracted so many people over time makes the movie work just as well as Scotty’s putziness. Peter North and Veronica Hart also do excellent jobs in their supporting roles, adding both heat and laughs to the movie. The sex is almost as good as the non-sex portions, and normally has quite a bit of chemistry and nice energy. Juli is amazing sexually, as are Ruby and Tricia Deveraux, and Veronica Hart gives a great tease of a scene. Perhaps the thing that works most in Scotty’s X-Rated Adventure is that it never takes itself too seriously in any way. It knows it isn’t a serious movie, but it also doesn’t set out to be a comedy masterpiece. Scotty just looks like he wants to have fun, and that’s exactly what Scotty’s X-Rated Adventure turns out to be.

Extras: The photo gallery lasts almost three minutes with about six seconds per nice looking full screen photo. Star galleries lasting two minutes each are included for Juli Ashton, Montana Gunn, Rebecca Lord, Ruby, Serenity, and Tricia Devereaux, and include photos from many of the stars’ Wicked features. Audio bios with a little personal information, a few photos, and a link to the star’s scene are included for Juli Ashton, Rebecca Lord, Ruby, Serenity, Scotty Schwartz, Michael J. Cox, and Peter North. Trailers are included for Crazed, The Kissing Game, Hell on Heels, Flashpoint, Double Feature!, The Bride of Double Feature, Dream Quest, Knockout, Pornogothic, Satyr, Sex Safari, Vengeance, and Working Girl. There’s also the usual Wicked extras of a company profile, promotional materials, the Wicked Web, a list of AVN & Wicked DVD winners and nominations, and a commercial for the Free Speech Coalition. There’s also a featurette on the box cover shoot and a behind the scenes featurette.

The box cover shoot featurette lasts about three minutes. You’re warned right away that due to the age of the featurette the video quality has degraded, but for sitting in the back of some closet it doesn’t look too bad. Scotty talks a little about what’s happening before you’re shown him and Juli getting made up the a bit of the photo shoot. Is it the greatest extra? No, but it does add a little to the overall DVD and I have to give Wicked credit for breaking out this footage, even if it isn’t the best technically, rather than leaving using it as a coaster somewhere.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about four and a half minutes. Once again you get a warning about the video quality, but the problems are spotty and I’ve seen worse elsewhere. You get to see a little of the scenes being shot here, as well as the cast screwing around behind the scenes. There’s nothing too special here, but for four and a half minutes it’s not too bad.

Overall: Currently, Scotty’s X-Rated Adventure can be found online for between $15 and $26 with a few stores offering it near the low end. This is more than a fair price for what you get. The movie has some good sex, and is cheesy in the fun way. The transfer’s nicely done and there’s also some nice extras.
