School's Out For Summer Review

NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. That said, amateur and homemade features have a great charm to them, simple because the people in them are doing what they’re doing to have fun and because they enjoy it. All the things that separate them from studio porn contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review and not just look at the ratings as the ultimate word on this release. Since the technical aspects are normally lacking and there normally isn’t much for extras in amateur features, I’ve weighted my overall rating more heavily towards the sex than I do in most studio porn.

The Short Story

Initial Expectations: I’ve really enjoyed most of what I’ve seen from Pixie’s Emporium. I go into every one of their features with pretty high expectations.

Initial Reaction: It’s a lot of fun, but not all of the scenes are original.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting a variety of sex with great chesmitry and a fun feel

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting nastier sex or girls who look like they shouldn’t be driving yet

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good. The audio is pretty clear and has a nice balance. There’s a few areas which seem a bit loud, but it’s not too bad. There’s also a few background noises, but they fit in the scenes rather than standing out. The video is also pretty good. It has a little grain, but it’s even throughout the feature and all of the action is nicely lit. For an amateur movie, this is a nice looking and sounding movie.

Music: There’s a little music at the start and end of the movie (I’ll leave you to figure out what the song is), but none during the scenes themselves.

Disc Complaint: There’s a watermark in the lower right corner of the screen. I mention it here because I know that a lot of people really hate watermarks. On the plus side, it’s clear and it stays there consistently throughout the feature so that you can put it out of your mind fairly easily.

Menus: The menus are simple but work well. The main menu has some fun animation and gives a pretty good first impression. The chapter menu is simple, but lets you choose a scene based on a still from each scene and a title for the scene.

The Feature

GSU is out of school, so it’s time to celebrate. Everybody heads over to Mandi’s place and immediately hits the pool for a little coed shirts and skins water volleyball. As they play, couples break off to get a little action.

Scene 1 - Erika and Jay

Erika and Jay start things out in a storage shed. Jay sits back on a riding lawnmower while Erika works him over orally before returning the favor as she bends over the mower. They masturbate for each other before Erika climbs on to ride him, and she kicks things up a notch by sucking on Jay’s fingers as she fucks him. She turns around so that Jay can admire and spank her ass, and even gives him a little spanking back, before letting him take her from behind. They work in a bit of acrobatics, a little missionary, and a little more doggie before Jay finally decorates Erika’s stomach and lets her suck out the last few drops.

This is a hot scene. Erika and Jay have great chemistry, and put some very nice energy into the scene. It’s shot from a tripod, which is the only complaint I can have about the scene, but at the same time it’s adjusted nicely enough that it captures almost everything between Erika and Jay. About the only thing which is missing is Jay’s head in the shots, but he gets it in there enough anybody who wants to know what he looks like can. This is a very nice start to the movie.

Scene 2 - Jesse and Candy

After a little fun in the pool, Jesse and Candy help each other towel off and then head inside to get it on when the others start telling them to get a room. They play around lightly before taking turns eating each other, and even mix in a little sixty-nining. Finally, they finish things with a kiss.

This is a pretty hot scene, but it’s also one that I’m 99% certain I’ve seen before. These girls were also in Girls Just Want To Have Fun, and many of the comments they made here struck me as being a little too familiar. I’m not positive, but I think this is just an edited version of that scene. There’s very nice chemistry and decent energy here, but I was a little disappointed to see a scene I’d seen before.

Scene 3 - Mandi* and Alex

After playing around in the pool, Alex works Mandi over while she sits on a floating raft. She even gets him to blow Bubbles (no, it’s not a threesome) while eating her before she trades places with him to thank him with her mouth and tits. Mandi even tries to give Alex head underwater before he fucks her against the side of the pool. They fuck a bit in the middle of the pool as well and even work in a little doggie style and a bit more oral action. Finally, the scene ends with the rest of the group coming back and teasing them.

This is a nice way to end things. As usual Mandi and Alex have nice chemistry and put some good energy into it. I’ll admit that I would have really liked to have seen a pop at the end, but I’m guessing that this was a heck of a difficult shoot. It also ends pretty well even without the pop, and ends it in a way that still put a smile on my face.

School’s Out For Summer is a fun little amateur film. It doesn’t quite get a plot into it, but it does bring in a fun setup for the movie that works very well. Everybody in the entire movie looks like they’re having a great time, and it all worked for me very well despite having a couple problems. The biggest problem was the second scene, which I’d already seen in Girls Just Want To Have Fun. It’s an enjoyable movie if you haven’t seen it and like younger girls going at it, but it’s one I’d already seen and I was looking for something new here. My other complaint is that the final scene didn’t have a pop shot. Perhaps the most important thing, however, is that the overall feel of the movie took me far past these things which would normally turn me off to varying degrees. School’s Out For Summer has it’s problems, but its strengths have a much bigger effect on the movie and make it worth checking out.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many DVDs from Pixie’s Emporium can be found online for around $13. This one’s worth the money despite one scene not being completely new. The sex has a nice variety and is a lot of fun. There isn’t much for extras, but the technical aspects are nicely done for an amateur movie.

Note to Pixie’s Emporium: It’s nice to see your technical aspects improving. In the future, when you reuse scenes you might want to note it somewhere as many people will get upset.
